[q] htc sync

The 22nd of august Kernel version from oe.netripper.com says:

htcleo: add usb notification
Now the sense USB dialog is comming very fast.
USB Disk is working, Connection to HTCSync too.
The sync of bookmarks isn't working correctly, maybe a userspace problem
For other tests a outlook pc is needed
I installed it with attached ko files and work fine, except i cannot make "HTC Sync v2.0.40" to discover my HD2 running Darkstone 2.1.
HTC Sync does not see the HD2. ADB driver is installed, activating debugging in HD2 or not makes no difference.
I tried a "HTC Sync" 2.0.3, with same symptom.
I would like to try HTC Sync v3.0 but a serial for Nexus One is requested to download it.
If someone could supply a Serial for Nexus one, it would be nice or upload v3.0, thanks in advance.
Can some one explain which HTC Sync is necessary for our HD2?

its opening popup asking type of connection?
could not work with some builds I think... works with mattc 1.5 and 1.5b... but wifi need to be fixed

Thanks for the software. My device is recognised via HTC Sync, using mattc 1.5b, I can now sync my calendar but when I try to sync my contacts I get an error message that my device does not have enough free memory ... Any suggestions?

sorry, can't help u guys.. i migrated my contacts to gmail so my contacts and calendar syncs with gmail..

Did you install ADB ? you need this for it to work I think well its working fine here. On XP I went to control panel hardware device manager found ADB and updated driver pointing to location of files.
Edit : OK I see ADB installed already

Where does it ask for connection?
On the PC or on the HD2?
When i connect the USB cable HD2 ask to activate the USB device, answering activate or not, does not improve.
And on HD2 shall we enable USB Connection, USB debugging or both?

When i install HTC Sync v2... or v3... it also install ADB driver in my "Windows 7 X86" without error.
May be a specific driver is necessary for W7 ?

It looks to work with mattc 1.5 and 1.5b, which are Sense version.
I use Darkstone v2.1 which is sense less.
Can it be the reason why it does not work for me??

It was posted in the thread by thattruth132 here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=748896&highlight=adb but its for xp, there is a link to android developers site in that thread there is a adb file in the pack which might help, but it sound like you have the correct driver already.

Try with this brend new version dated 23.8.2010, but same pb, HD2 is not seen.

It does not work, HD2 is not recognised by HTC Sync.
I wonder if some of you achieve to make it working with a Sense-less version?

From where did you get the new version? From the official site you need a serial number and I don't have one ...

It seems from HTC's website that there is an htc sync software on the phone. So I think your guess is right. Maybe it is like Activsync where part of it is on the device and another on the PC.
Also, when HTC sync 3.0 was released, it was for Wildfire only and the new version supports more devices. Maybe if the rom is based on one of these devices without much modification, it would still be recognized.

use this and the latest GIT kernel. HTC sync will work on sense Rom

i think htc sync will work only in ROM with Sense UI, not working in Cyanogen mod.

This was also my guess, you are right. I tried the mattc 1.6 with HTC Sync 3.0.5422 and it works like a charm. This mattc 1.6 is a Sense version which confirm our guess. As one of you said, may be a software is necessary in the non-sense version, the pb is, which one?

[Q] How to connect Experia X8 to AdHoc Wifi

Hallo everybody, this is my first thread, as soon as I join to this forum.
I post this thread because i cannot find any solution after googling about my problem.
Is there any body have an experience, that can be shared to me about "how to connect experia x8 to adHoc wifi". I find an apk file on market "Wifi Analiser". With this app I can see my Laptop AdHoc Wifi, but I cannot connect to my Laptop AdHoc Wifi.
So what should i do? is there another app from the market or non market app can to use?

Android 2.1 does not support ad-hoc.

wait for further update to use this app.

Is there another trick, like somekind of script that can be applied on my x8 to. If so, may be somebody there have an experience can be shared to me or may be have an tutorial for this case, that was published on website.
There a site that use some script for this but i cannot copy link to my thread, sory.

If we just wait for app update, it's not an attractiing solution, there is no challenge.

You can also trying to use 'Connectify'.. It's very usefull and allows to go to internet on your cell phone.. XD

There's a solution that worked for the G1 and should also work on the X8. It's not very convenient though (requires to pull a config file from the phone, edit it on your PC putting all of the ad-hoc's network information and then sending it back to the phone. So if you are on the go you won't be able to connect to any ad hoc network that you hadn't setup before).

Radio Application Subtitute for Default RAdio on Xperia X8
After install some subtitute application for default app that was installed by Sony Ericcson on Xperia X8, like dialer, sms manager and phone book manager. Now I am looking for a subtitution Radio Application for default Experia X8.
Xperia X8 was bundled with a FM Radio, and have an ugly application to use the Radio. so I want to change the default radio application. Is there some body have an experience about that ?
Is there any FM Radio application for subtitute the default FM Radio app on Xperia X8 ?

ad hoc on x8
i have successfully connected my xperia x8 2.2.1 to my laptop's ad hoc,just want to share how:
*i have a custom rom, mini cm 6, the most stable froyo rom out there (ps. flashing a custom rom is easy,just watch technewsweekly's "how to install android 2.2 on x8" on youtube,
*i use "connectify"- a program that allows your pc to become a wifi hotspot
,just download the rar file on megaupload or filesonic
*after i created the hotspot on connectify,my x8 immediately picked up the ad hoc connection and is under the "wifi networks"
again,to everyone with x8 eclair,pleeeease flash minicm 6! definitely worth it!
this is my current rom:
working pinch to zoom,camera,wireless network thingies and all the good stuff except for timescape.bummer,i know.overall it's awesome
don't forget to do the important steps like:
1) root your phone using superoneclick root
2)BACK UP YOUR FILES!
3)back up your whole sd card for worst case scenarios haha
4)INSTALL XRECOVERY in case you mess up

Are you wanting to use it just tethering it with the USB cable or as a WiFi hotspot? Both methods require a app to do this. My wife uses Barnicle to do this it is on the Andriod market. But if you do some searching there is a lot more spps out there.

On my HD2 using Rafdroid 4.0.2 it`s working good. if you can`t use like USB modem, maybe need to delete activesync? i did have same problem with USB mobile data.. fixed this path

wi-fi only working at home

Hi guys... I have a htc hd2...running android 2.3.4 gingerbread v2.8 nexus tytung on SD card....my problem is with the wi-fi on the phone...it works perfectly at home but when I go to my brothers house the wi-fi does not connect....it keeps connecting and disconnecting simultaneously. ... my brother does not have any problems when he connects his mobile phone to his home network. Am getting the same problem when i try the wi-fi at my sisters house ..could you please advice me as to what the problem could be.....

I think 2.9 / 3.0 have a different wpa_supplicant in the /system/bin folder. You may want to give it a try...

if can , try tap a long , release , maybe you can get yours brother network.
then tap connect.
