can someone help me if possible on how to go back to the out of the box stock rom on my X from rubix focused 1.6
You will need to SBF back to stock.
Instructions from Rootzwiki:
Download RSD Lite (credit to MyDroidWorld)
Install the RSDLite 4.8 program by double clicking on the program
Unzip the SBF into a folder. (Download Above)
Open RSD Lite and find the UNZIPPED SBF
Put your Motorola Droid X into bootloader. (turn phone off and hold volume down and the camera button while pressing the power button)
Click start and sit back.
Note: after the flash will need to boot into recovery (hold volume down and the home button) and wipe data and cache.
You must use the right SBF file for your system version. You can find that in Settings/About Phone.

hello fellows, tried to flash ms2ginger3.0 and the device got stuck on boot logo, boot menu wont load, and stock recovery (vol down + power button) doesn't work either. Tried also to attend to the operator, but they won't fix an none stock version.
any suggestions?
use rsd lite and flash a new sbf to it.
In case you don't know how to flash a new sbf with RSD Lite, here's a quick tutorial:
1) Install the Motorola drivers and RSD Lite on your computer. See this guide for installing Moto drivers and RSD Lite:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=853674
2) Download the sbf file that you want to flash, and save it to your PC. Many sbf files can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966537 WARNING: If you flash a full stock SBF file, in most cases you will lose the ability to downgrade to earlier firmware versions. NEVER flash a full stock SBF file with a higher Android version than 2.2 (Froyo). Any stock firmware with Android version 2.3 or higher is made for the DEFY+, which has different camera hardware than the DEFY. If you flash the stock DEFY+ firmware, your camera will be broken and you won’t be able to downgrade back to Froyo again.
3) Make sure the phone battery is fully charged. Power off your phone, then hold in the volume+ button and the power button at the same time. After about 5 seconds, release the buttons. The bootloader should display – it will show the version and a battery check. (If that doesn’t work, pull the battery, then put it back in while holding the volume+ and power buttons.)
4) Start RSD Lite on your computer, then connect the phone with a USB cable. In RSD Lite, the Status column should say “Connected…”. Click on that, and some information about your phone should show up under Device Properties. Next, click the “…” button and browse to select the SBF file that you want to install. After opening it, information about the file should show up under File Properties. Then click “Start” and wait for the flashing process to complete. Wait until the phone has fully rebooted and RSD Lite says “Pass” before closing RSD Lite and disconnecting the USB cable. As an extra precaution, I usually power off the phone before disconnecting the cable.
Good luck!
Thank you guys, just reallized the combination to stock recovery is (power botton + volup) now sbf Froyo.

Do you get the "no such file found" error as soon as you select a recovery option, or does the error happen later?
If all else fails, just flash a new sbf using RSD Lite. (See my previous post, above.) If you're planning to install CM7 again, I recommend using the 3.4.2-179-2 CEE DEBLUR sbf. Then follow this guide to install CM7 with working google apps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1065798
So i wanted to install a rom (Froyo 2.2). Formatted, wiped cache and dalvik. Pushed the wrong button carelessly and rebooted. Than i oppened the motorola recovery and wiped cache. Now i can't open the recovery menu of CM and i don't have google play installed so there is no way to boot zip files..
Please need help, seriously. And i'm green with android's..
Oh wow
Take a 2.2 Froyo File, download RDS Lite
Turn your Device down then push the Volume Button down + Unlock Button
When you see the android sign push Audio up + down at the same time
Then go to factory reset and do this
Now put your battery out and back in
Boot with Volume button up + Unlock Button
Now you should see the bootloader screen
Connect your phone to your PC start RSD Lite and flash your 2.2 froyo stock sbf

I have a problem with Defy Green lense after installing 2ndboot Quarx. It seems that Android isn't mounting internal memory correctly
I can't install any app and after I restart phone, I get wizard to setup my phone like I just installed new ROM. From search on forum I found that people had problems with internal storage, but they always had some storage left (I have 0mb).
The things I have tried to do:
Installing fix for 11.10 and v2
Revert to old ROM version (non 2ndboot)
Factory reset from Settings
Delete data, cache and dalvik from Custom Recovery
Delete data/cache from Stock Recovery
Install another ROM (ParanoidAndroid)
Remount /system and /sdcard from Custom recovery
When I try to see log in custom recovery, I get this (log.jpg)
Can anybody tell my how to fix it?
Edit: How to fix internal memory
Motorola Defy
RSD Lite (download here: http://goo.gl/KRSRp
SBF (i reccomend 2.2 CEE Froyo) (download here: http://goo.gl/Jhz84) (for other SBFs use this link: http://goo.gl/dYQTl )
USB Cable
Charged battery (at least 50%)
Motorola USB Drivers (download here: http://goo.gl/bWg1M )
Download and install USB Drivers
Download and install RSD Lite
Turn off your phone
Go into bootloader by pressing Power button and Vol+ button
Connect your phone to your PC via USB cable
Make sure everything is OK
Locate downloaded SBF. In popup dialog press Uncompress and start flashing
If you get " Please manually power up this phone " in RSD Lite pull battery out > put your battery back > reboot into stock recovery by holding Power button and Vol- button > Choose Wipe data/cache > Choose Reboot system now

Hey guys,
is it possible to revert my phone back to stock?
I am running CM10 at the moment and would like to send my phone into repair (because of my speaker).
Maybe there is no problem with a custom ROM but I would like to be sure they don't blame a ROM for a hardware fault.
Maybe some of you have a bit of expierence with Motorola service or with the mentioned problem above.
Thanks for any help!

Just flash the SBF via RSDLite...
You need to boot into the bootloader - see instructions i my post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33199328&postcount=1374
Then just do wipe data via stock recovery (boot with X pressed and then press vol up + down to see the recovery menu)
.. I've sent my Moto phone to repair with custom ROM (because my power button was broken, so I was not able to reflash it) and they have repaired it without any problem (thankfully) - but I definitely recommend you to do a nand backup and revert to stock with the instructions above

Wow that is easier than I thought, thanks!
If I flash the SBF, does that erase the custom bootloader/root etc. too?
I will give it a try in 2 weeks and see what the Motorola support ppl say.

you don't have a custom bootloader , but yes it will flash a stock version without Bootmenu or root.
Okay, then I meant Bootmenu, not Loader
Thanks again for the info, I will post an update if I succeed!
Just install a GB image from bootmenu and you will be ok. But the service will not mess with your software.

Thanks Anonymous_! Everything works fine now
Here is my procedure:
Programs/Files you need:
RSD Lite
SBF-File (make sure it's the right Kernel - Froyo/Gingerbread)
Motorola USB-Drivers (not sure if necessary for RSD-Lite)
Step-by-Step:
Install the USB-Drivers
Install RSD-Lite
Boot your phone into bootloader
remove battery
connect USB-Cable (PC to phone)
press and hold the buttons: camera + vol. down + power
put battery in while still holding these three buttons
Start RSD-Lite (with admin privileges)
Choose your SBF-File (with the "..." button)
Press Start
Then just "wipe data" via stock recovery
press and hold "x" on the hardware keyboard
boot your phone
press volume up AND down when you see the android robot (with the attention sign)
[*]Choose "wipe data" with the volume buttons
[*]Confirm with the power button, then confirm you choice again
[*]Then reboot from the recovery menu
Again my thanks goes to Anonymous_ for his instructions!
I was just going to ask the same question as the OP.
Thank you very much for the procedure explanation. Now I'm a bit more confident about upgrading to CM10
EDIT: What if when I try to boot via stock recovery, the Android robot appears but pressing Volume Up + Down don't do anything?
Thanks dudes, I bought a 2nd hand Milestone 2 with stock 2.2. I could not update to Android 2.3 with the Motorola official updater, so I followed this short tutorial. Now I have stock Android 2.3, Niceeee !! Now rooting the phone and removing the bloatware crap..
I was looking for that, thanks
Anyone please provide a better sbf file and ROM cm9 or 10 for my motoroal defy .. its completely bricked .. and i can't find a better one ... just provide one working sbf file to flash. i don't need a list of SBF file. if u can't provide here .. please send the links to my address >> [email protected]
I tired numerous SBF files to flash thru RSD lite. .. but it stuck at black screen or logo. and when i enter into boot menu thru Triangle logo (Holding vol- button & pressing back button on screen) I can't wipe data / factory reset .. as i selects.. it keeps on restarting. Please help me
Were you able to enter the stock recovery? You need to wipe data and cache from the stock recovery after you flash a sbf..
Edit:
When you get that triangle logo,
Press volume up -down buttons consecutively (up-down up-down up-down) .. you'll then get the stock recovery. Wipe data and cache and reboot. You should be able to boot into the stock ROM.
Then follow the steps from this thread to root, install 2nd init, flash CM 9. All the best!
