Hey, is anyone else getting an error message when trying to look at there notification in the FB app? i dunno whats going on, i never got any notification forwarded to my phone and when i try to check i get the error message
It's a problem with the Facebook app, not the phone. They're working on it.
yeah i figured! well its cool then i ll just wait for the update! thanks
I did have this error and I'm happy to report that it's working now.
I posted this earlier today in another forum on these boards, but there seems to be a temporary solution until the developer really fixes the app:
So I think I've figured out what's causing these notification parsing errors for now. The Facebook app should still be fixed to address these, but it seems like they're coming from third party Facebook applications that you've authorized to make updates to your notifications feed. I logged into Facebook on a regular browser and clicked on Notifications > See All, and then unchecked a bunch of apps from the "Applications You've Authorized" section. For the heck of it, I also went into Account Settings > Notifications and made changes there and suddenly I'm getting notifications in the Android app. It seems like some of the custom notifications from non-FB apps might be tripping up whatever is used by the Android app to parse the notification data.

Thanks for the heads up. I got rid of some other notifications I had like for my BB just in case.
It is pretty simple really. Just goto the bottom of the notifications page and select "Show More" if you don't see "Facebook for Android" otherwise click the checkbox next to it and you should be good to go.
mine started working today as well
I was using an app to send a large amount of text messages in a short amount of time. Aka text bombing. When I got to around 300-500 (I tried several times) messages sent, I get a message in similar format to when something gets superuser permissions (grey box at bottom of screen) that says "radio off".
Does that mean I am srcewed? Everything still works but that message is a little disturbing.
Oh, and the app also successfully removed sms limits. I am using the apex 2.0 beta on version 591
Anyone heard of this before?
I haven't heard of this before. All I can think of is you got pinched by your carrier for sending too many of the same message within a certain period of time. I don't know what you were sending out, but be careful: the FCC has ruled text message spamming to be illegal.
Hmmm that is interesting. My friends thunderbolt was able to do it fine and it is also on Verizon. And maybe that is why that app was removed from the market and now can't be found anywhere
For the past few days I've been getting an error in my notifications. When I click it opens the browser and takes me to a page that says:
"{"errors":[{"message":"Bad Authentication data","code":215}]}
I'm not sure where this is coming from. Is anyone else seeing this?
I originally asked this in Tasks thread because that is my ROM, but it isn't only his ROM as it has happened before on different phones, but always AOSP.
When I have my phone set to auto-retrieve MMS it does the expected behavior unless the MMS doesn't download correctly the first try. Sometimes I miss the message completely if it doesn't download and sometimes it notifies me with "Message not downloaded tap to retry" but when I tap that it takes me to a messaging screen where that MMS is gone. If I set the phone to not auto-retrieve I can try to download multiple times and I will not lose the message.
I know the logical answer is not to have it auto retrieve, but in a group MMS I have to go to each specific contact and hit download on each message which is counter intuitive to the smart phone.
Again, I don't think this is rom specific because I remember it on my S3 happening a time or two when GroupMMS first came to AOSP, but is there any way to make the phone keep the message in messaging if it fails to download? I used to be able to download GOSMS and use it to find them, but on the S4 they are nowhere to be found with any app I've used so far. Sometimes the message when set to not auto retrieve will just sit and say downloading forever and I have to delete it. It is pretty frustrating. I saw something on Google about it where someone had started the issue but it was for Android 2.2 and it wasn't quite the same issue.
If you haven't seen this, try setting to auto retrieve and have someone send you a bunch of mms, see if you get them all. Sometimes I don't even realize I'm missing them, which sucks too.
Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone fixed it?

Do you have any ad blocking software installed such as ad-away or ad-block? If so disable them and see if it works.. These programs I don't know which one exactly were causing this issue on my phone at one time. I disabled them and MMS worked correctly again. I never felt like going in and checking which setting was causing this problem so I just uninstalled them...

I don't. Thanks for that info though. The weird thing is I might even get 9 out of 10 MMS, but randomly one will not download the first try and it just disappears. I'm ok with it not downloading the first try, but if it just disappears and I don't see it I have no idea who it's from or what it was about.
I'm having the same exact problem, OP. I'm rocking a Play Store Galaxy Nexus on AT&T. I miss a lot of group messages and I'm almost ready to switch to an iPhone, or a carrier that does MMS over WiFi.

Don't like the iPhone idea, but I do wonder what else I'm missing. Today I woke up and had 3 text messages showing, but when I clicked the notification I only had one unread. I don't know if it was an incorrect notification or if I lost those sms also. I might download go and leave it on there to see if it helps. So far Handcent hasn't helped. I have it hidden in the background to see if it will catch these. I also got a message that I missed this morning and I'm not sure if it was a resend or if it just randomly came to me, but I got it 4 hours later.

We're definitely losing messages. Sometimes I get a toast messages "Can't download message from Jane Doe" if I catch it at the right time.
Sometimes it also shows up in my notifications preview, "Jane Doe" but I click on it, it takes me to the Group MMS, but then Jane Doe's message isn't in the thread. It shows up in my friends' iPhone threads though. It's like the phone receives it initially, then just throws it out.
Other times if I miss messages, I get a ton of "Hidden Sender Address" in my notification bar. I tap on it, it's blank. I check my friends' threads, and of course there's some messages I miss.
Like you said, the only reliable way to receive these MMS is to turn off auto-retrieve, but then I'm going into each individual's thread and clicking download a many times. If we're all live group chatting, this is a little intense, but I want to be part of the group...

Also, I'm guessing we aren't the only ones dealing with this, but maybe others haven't noticed it yet. It's pretty frustrating.

I found this issue awhile ago in the tracker. Pretty much sums it up, but compound it with group MMS. Look how old the dates are...
FYI - I was having issues with Text/Picture Messaging Not Downloading/Sending with AOSP ROMS.
After some heavy duty Googleing and putting the pieces together from numerous posts across different sites this is what I came up with...
Go to: Settings --> Mobile Networks --> Preferred Network Type
Select: CDMA+LTE/EVOD instead of Global and reboot. (I think AOSP ROMS are set to Global for the purpose of being used worldwide.)
Since I did this my picture messaging works perfectly! Be sure to check this each time you change ROMS or update your current installed ROM.
TL/DR: Saying "Navigate home" in Google now used to send me to my correct address now it sends me to "The Penthouse London, 1 Leicester Square, London."
Just this month I started getting this incorrect location, searched the web and apparently another few Aussies get the same thing, same address only he was getting it on his Nexus 5 kitkat. I can't find a solution to this problem and I'm starting to think it's Google's fault and I can't do anything about it. Any ideas?

try this go to setting ,accounts, google ,location and change
might work
Fixed
I think I've got it. I had a reminder set to that location when I voiced "remind me to _____ when I get home" Which somehow at the time was bugged and sent it to London.
Swipe to Google now and click on reminder the finger with the string around it and edit the location to your home address. Not sure if everyone will get this but Google Now force closes and you will get the "Google now has stopped responding" notification. But now your address will be reverted back to normal. Hope this helps someone, I don't have an account to that other website that people seem to have a problem with.
