Here is the ooVoo ooVoo.apk - Vibrant General

Here is the ooVoo.apk for anyone intrested in trying this out.
This is a Video Chat program.
I have tryed it out. I made a video call from windows to my Vibrant with FFC. The voice works but the video does not show up on either device.
Please post if you get this to work.
I believe it is very popular with high school and college ages because ive seen my cousin and BIL use it.
This does not require to pay unless you want to use more than 1 to 1 calling.

whats oovoo?

what is it? whats it do? screen shots?

Since I'm norwegian I'll see if I get time to test/translate the tip this weekend...
Awww awesome man! Thanks
I travel around alot, so only having one device would be very handy
http://www.comvu.com/
I looked through it and fihured out how to do it. Howver I will tell you right now, in any language, it is not worth the effort.
Howver if you are going to do it, I suggest using
Pocket Controller-Professional as aposed the free microsoft app, MS app sux.
Also the Soft Cam App also kinda sux...
But i guess its better than nothing.

It doesn't say wizard supported (im on cingular 8125) but it does say magician, i have yet to get this to work. Best of luck to others on getting it working.
CoolCamera version 1.11 works as Webcamera on HTC Wizard (and other models).
Download:

I confirm, sup2006 is right! The last version of coolcamera finally does it, you can use your wizard as a webcam
great!
this works pretty good... too bad it only works for 25 seconds for the unregistered version... does anyone have the update or whatever to make it the full version????

Well, PCP has been tried and all I can say is:
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES
Its ace and if you are willing to spend cash, then this is it.
LOL, its excellent, I have no idea about most of the features as I have just used it for 10 minutes and went straight for the kill with the remote camera.
Actually, I say remote camera, the entire device is remote, you just see on the PC what is on the device screen.
Definate must.
The one drawback I can see is that it doesnt work if the device is in standby. i.e. One press of the power button. Coolcam works so I don't see why this doesn't, but hey, I'm not complaining,

Excellent link. I will give it a shot.
If someone already tested it, please post your results.
Paulo
Now if there was only a way to have the input present as a standard webcam interface (much in the way SplitCam does it). Then you'd have a wireless camera you could use with MSN, Skype and other such vido calling applications.

i meant for video calling mobile phones
The camera's on the back, the screen is on the front. Either you could see the other person and they'd get a picture of your feet or they'd see your ugly mug and you couldn't see them. What would be the point?

This will allow you to make calls mobile to mobile, however it would have to be over GPRS or WiFi. However as supershisa points out you wouldn't want to. I suspect your asking if the Wizard can do 3G, which it cannot.

its experimental. and its cool.
besides its not microsofts fault. its the phones fault for the position of the camera. the software is not only for the wizard. its for all pocket pc's with a camera.

video call cam??

can the video call cam be used for anything else?? and can it be used with skype?
Wouldn't it be just utterly splendid? But no, no other function is possible at the moment. And with WM6+ it's useless as a video call one as well. Damn shame..
well that just sucks balls.

Unfortunately, there is no 100% implementation of VC in WM6 ROMs. If you want to go into semantics, you could say partially working (sometimes/in some cases etc) VC is not completely useless, but until it is worked into the ROM properly, I say it is.
Incidentally, have you managed to actually read the thread?

the benifit of videocalling is not to see your face only ,you may need to show some one a thing when shopping or doing any thing before doing it ,video conference is only one benfit of it
dual post .................
There is very little point in video call without seeing the other persons face.
I understand where your coming from with needing to show someone something.
But I've never ever needed to show someone something that badly..
It would be nice, but we'd never use it.

I agree, plus, if the other person can video call (Which is also expensive), they likely have a phone that will accept a picture message or a video message that our HD2's can send (And with good quality results too, better quality that front facing cameras too).
Without a front facing camera I can't see the point either.
Basically there is so little demand that unless HTC were getting hammered with requests I doubt they'd do something about it.

to show someone something i can put the call on hold, take a picture -> send it via mail/mms, and then carry on talking. hence, no need for video calling
ON MY REGION IT IS VERY CHEAP TO MAKE VIDEOCALL THAN SENDING MMS videocall is as expensive as normal call on my country ,so better for me to havevideo call

I wasnot shouting i , forgot to close the cabs lock
Here is how to do it:
- install "HTC Dialer disabler (MS Dialer enabler).cab"
- soft reset
- install "Rhodium dialer.cab"
- soft reset
Now you should have the video call option in your dialer.
Here in Macedonia we have cheap video calls and indeed it's cheaper than sending mms. As I work in one of the mobile operators I get unlimited video calls for free. So I really miss it

[Q] Video Chat

Is there any way whatsoever to take screenshots while using google talk to video chat on an unrooted Xoom?
depends what your girlfriend is doing.........
lmao. so im guessing no?
sorry, I had to... I am not sure yet, might just be a matter of time.. Ill try to look into it over the weekend, see if I can find anything..
Not unless you're rooted.
hold your phone at an angle so she cant see it and take pictures haha
or use the SDk and a usb cable to capture screens without root
Have we found an application that actually works for taking screenshots?!?!
Any way whatsoever? Well DDMS works fine, if you are connected via USB.
