im in the process of switching ROMS i did have Fresh 1.0 and it ran pretty smooth really no compliants until recently my battery was draining SUPER FAST!! I couldnt take it anymore so i went back to the stock rom using the RUU recovery. Im trying to decide which is the best ROM out right now and it seem like alot of good things from the Android "2.01-R5V0-6" ROM, just curious has anyone had major issues with the battery life and with which ROM? Please all help would be great and which ROM i should choose to be the smoothiest and most battery life friendly
Battery drain is a 1.5 issue, not a Freshhh issue. Any ROm you use that is based from 1.5 is going to have that issue. You can ease the pain by disabling all location settings, as this is what causes the drain.

Well, after flashing another ROM and deciding that I liked the Expresso UI I decided to go back, I was stuck on the version PREVIOUS to 1.35.531 and now that im back on 1.35.531 and Radio ver. 7.09.35.10 the battery life doesn't seem as good as this previous version, anyone think the same thing?
On a side note, how can I go about getting the most out of my battery? Any guides?

Funny you say that about the battery life cuz the update was suppose to increase it. Check you settings. See what is draining your battery. Also i think the best battery life would come from using one of dumfuq's kernals and doing minor tweeking to the cpu. But i dont any work around to get his kernal to work with stock

The first few days my battery seemed to be draining faster, but it seems to be about the same as before now. I definitely didn't notice an increase in battery life though.
what is the android rom with best battery life? and how is it compared to an htc desire?
I am about to buy the hd2 but the only drawback i am finding so far is battery life as everyone seems to complain about it
and i often listen to music on my phone... like 4-5 hours per day...
Try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=895059
Of all the ROMs from XDA I was tested on [26.JAN] [DFT / Cwm] NexusHD2-Froyo V1.9G [Android2.2.2] [Kernel: tytung_r2_oldcam]. The only that keeps me the most battery.
Sorry for my english
thx for the reply! how long does it last on regular use (some calls, some games, sms, browsing and music)
the best way to find out which rom gives out the best bat life is to experiment with the different ones out there. and a big factor also lies in your set up. i've already upgraded my hd2 rom and radio and i'm very pleased with my current set up as follows:
rom: chuckyrom lite
radio: 2.15
android: mdj froyo 4.6
by far it's given me the best power battery output ever. to give you an idea, i charge my phone in the evening. as soon as it's 100% i then unplug it. that'll be done at around 10pm when i go to sleep. i wake up at 6am and the battery shows 97%. not bad for 8 hours on standby. and i'm using live video wallpaper. on the way to work, i watch vids for like 40 minutes on the train. by the time i get to the office, my battery is at 80%.
cheers
anymore experience plz? by how much is desire's battery better?

Most Android phones have poor battery life, thats just how it is.
There is many, many different things you can do to improve it and its all documented here on forum.
really? however htc hd2 is initially not an android phone.. i am worried that it's battery life would be worse than true android devices?
I have push mail and weather updates and such running on an android Darkstone RAM froyo sense rom, and the battery life is as good as, or better than it was on windows.
It's more stable than windows, that is for sure.
I have dual boot, so I can still boot into windows too, so the android is extra.
another question: is the robot voice still an issue with some android roms? while reading threads of android on hd2 whether ram, sd or nand, i often see people complaining about robot voice issue!!! i hope it's no more there with the newest android roms... that sounds like a very bad issue for me!!

I have choose this for my moms phone. And she is very happy with it..
Tytung
Yes every ROM from NEXUS bu tytung have great battery life. I think you should use jellybean 4.2.2
I used SlimKat (more than 2 days battery life), but it was very slow and I changed it to Nexus KitKat.
Unfortunately, Nexus has worse battery life than SlimKat.

I'm on BB 58 and Wolf Break ROM V5. I don't see any battery drain. I'm getting 1.5 days with moderate usage. I used to get 1 day with stock 2.1 SE ROM. So I feel the battery life has improved for me. I didn't install any themes. But again battery drain is upon the usage of the device, I use lot of Edge though for surfing.

Do i have to completely format or flash to install new baseband ??
i am running BB .58 ,no problem, great battery!!
I am on Orange France
I live in paris
but i am Indian
hope it helps
Running baseband .58 with wolf's v05 and use WiFi continuously and still go a day. Take the plunge, if you don't like it can always go back...
BTW:- Country of residence most probably does not have anything to do with it...
I got BB .58 now running for almost 24 hours on my x10! It's really amazing! My battery life has doubled.
I have BB58 ever since it released and have used it with wolfbreak's rom. Battery drains according to usage. I dont see any difference at all.
One question though, Why should an indian confirm? why not others? You think the radio signals in India are thicker than the other countries because of which the battery drains ? I can understand that the operator or country plays important role, but not on the battery drain. Or you think its because of our politicians?

Hi all
I Have a Galaxy S which is currently on
Firmware 2.2.1
Baseband Version I1900XXJPY
Kernel 2.6.32.9
Darkys v9.2 Extreme Edition
The battery performance is unbelievably bad. I charge it overnight, then by midday it is down to 10-15%
I run Juice defender on aggresive, and have used a few programms to recalibrate battery, but nothing changes.
The last thing I was told to try was a factory reset, then fully charge the battery.
Unfortunately, when I do a factory reset, Darkys ROM etc remain, so not realy a full reset is it?
ANy advice would be great!
Thanks
Change rom?

using search or even looking at first side of general threads hurts your brain i guess http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1134741
Get a brand new SIM card and see if it solves the issue, I had bad battery run time with a 12 year old SIM card and read in other forum posts, that it can cause short battery runtime.
None of the fantastic tricks mentioned in forums and none of the really clever settings changes helped with my phone, so the last I could do was to replace that old and power hungry SIM card.
