I'm running off a rooted version of the latest sprint software update and, for the life of me, I can't get the personalization options to show on my phone. On a different non-rooted EVO, they came up straight away.
I've tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it, but nothing works. Anyone else notice this/know a work around?
If all you're expecting is for it to pop up that opt in dialog automatically: it's in the settings too.

Did FRG83D OTA update yesterday. Noticed that Swype was not working. It would track across keyboard but nothing would appear in text box. Uninstalled both Swype and Installer, dowloaded invite again and opened Installer. Keep getting the message "ID of this phone doesn't match registration at beta.swype.com." Tried this several times
Nothing was changed on the phone -- still original Nexus unit that Swype was installed on, as evidenced by no option to "reset" my phone info.
Hope someone here can help since Swype no longer offers e-mail support and their forums seem difficult and useless.
Any advice to get Swype going again would be appreciated.
MY PHONE IS NOT ROOTED.
I would suggest uninstalling everything and rebooting. Then, install the "Swype Installer" again and go through the process of installing Swype. After you have successfully finished, you need to wait for a dialog that will popup giving you the option to enable Swype. Click the enable button at this point. This will occur after their software has checked to make sure you are in fact in the beta.. if you dont do this, you get symptoms of what youre experiencing
I always use titanium backup, but since you're not rooted, hmmmm

Crachel -- thanks for the quick reply. Uninstalled Swype Installer and did re-boot (even went so far as to reboot by battery pull). Downloaded invite again but still get same "ID of phone doesn't match..." when trying to launch installer.
Is your phone showing registered in your Swype Account?
Swype always stops working when an Android update is applied, requiring users to reinstall it. Very annoying but I assume it's some way to keep unregistered users from using the beta.
In any case, go here to figure out whether you can just reset your ESN or if you need to contact Swype to have them do it on their end:
http://forum.swype.com/showthread.php?1353-The-ID-of-the-Phone-doesn-t-match-your-registration.
The phone info shows my Nexus One (which is correct). There is no way for me to check the ESN even when I am logged into Swype.
You are right that every OS update required a re-installation of Swype, I think I remember one time when I had to contact them to re-load the ESN. The problem now is that if you send them an e-mail they tell you to check their forum (which I've yet to find helpful).
I'll keep trying and will update this thread if I have positive results. Thanks to all for your help!
I did a search through the forum, and looked at the original topic, but didn't seem to find anyone else experiencing this problem.
I am running DJ05, and I downloaded the file called "uber_market.zip" I found on XDA to allow me to upgrade to the new market. I then flashed it in clockwork. I also got rid of the bloatware on my phone by renaming (not deleting) certain applications through Root Explorer. I noticed that when I pressed the the search button in the market nothing happened (didn't pop up the keyboard), nor did it work by pressing the soft key from the home screen, or in the browser. I went back and restored everything I had done one at a time, eventually getting back to the base installation. I then added all the changes back one at a time. The search function worked with every mod until I came to flashing the new version of the market. Has anyone else experienced this, or know a fix? I really like the new market, but it's really hard living without being able to search on anything! lol
Thanks in advance...
Dan
On further review, I think I was mistaken. It looks like it's the new Google Maps update that's causing the problem. I had it set to update automatically and didn't notice the installation at first so it looked like it was the market doing it. Last night I tried re-installing search after the map update completed, but it still wouldn't work, so I started over after setting the map update to manual and the search function worked fine again in the market. If anyone else is experiencing this, let me know! I hope they get this fixed soon!
Allows you to manage APP installed via the website and have them pushed to your Android devices. Not sure if anyone has looked at it yet.
Im on Bonsai ROM with Market version 2.2.11 and its not working for me. The website finds my Epic but apps don't get pushed to my phone when I click install. Is there a newer version I need?
I havent I'm not by a computer but I'm interested though....
Is it like the app store on itunes?
I'm tired of updating my phone and not having acess to certain apps
This would take all the pain away!

Worked for me, but I'm on stock.
Wasn't that one of the features of Gingerbread? It thought they mentioned that at the Froyo push last year.
They actually first showed this off last year at the Froyo event.
Getting SERVER NOT FOUND error?
I was able to use this today successfully. I remotely installed 3 apps, with absolutely no problems. It recognized all the programs already on my phone.
I'm on Nebula 1.0.7, so stock is not required
I'm on ViperROM 4.0.2c and am able to use it. The thing I like the most about it is that it has kept track of all the applications I've installed (which isn't the case when I flash my ROM). So I can reinstall the APPs throught he market. (yes the market keeps track of my purchased APPs, just not the rest of them via the phone.
It also makes installing the same APPs to multiple devices at the same time via the same Google account very easy.
I am on Quantom 2.7 and the website just doesn't see my phone at all. Wonderful.
are you guys just going to market.google.com??? I can't get to it from my computers.

Google the term "market"
Thank you.
And for anyone else reading this, the correct website is:
https://market.android.com/
I'm running Nebula and when I go to the web market, all of my apps that I've downloaded are there, but it won't recognize my epic. Anyone else found a fix for this?
Works on the current nightly of Cyanogenmod 6.
Shows the list of currently installed applications, and the instant I told it to add Angry Birds (not that I'm interested) my phone began the download.
Awesome.
Combined with the way all apps reinstall after a new flash, I should not need to use the crappy on-phone application again!

Well, I just flashed to a new ROM and am now once again having trouble with the sync.
My market.android.com list shows like 20+ applications, but Bonsai ROM downloaded 2 and acts like it is done. I'm going to have to go down the list and search for each of them now. Or maybe I'll try the same from market.android.com
EDIT it's working, but the list of installed apps on the phone's Market won't even update...
Time to say "goodbye" to appbrain. Finally.
Oh nice
Thanks for the tip. I was able to use my computer to browse the market and it was able to see my installed apps ok. I am running stock DI18.

Says no phone associated with my account even though I can see my market history. I'll chalk it up ito being a new service and not fully up and running yet.
I'm using the NotSoStock ROM for the T-Mobile V20 version 6.5. I haven't had any issues this entire time but of recent randomly my Google app won't work. When I open it the wheel just spins with no message or indication of connecting to Google. Google Assistant will not respond to OK Google. Voice to text won't work on GBoard. The Google search bar won't work. My play store is fine Gmail is fine just seems to be everything related to the new installment of Google Assistant stops working. I'm not using greenify. I haven't installed anything different since getting this ROM running. It hasn't been updated since I've rooted. Only thing I've downloaded was a theme from the playstore. I thought maybe that was it so I removed it and went back to stock but it did it again later on in the evening after being perfect all day. Sometimes if I close all apps it will connect when reopening. But other times I have to reboot the phone. I've wiped cache and dalvik cache. Wiped app data and cache. I've tried changing the ignore status of Google services framework so it's never put to deep sleep in the settings baked into stock LG UI. I can't figure this out and it's frustrating. Can anyone help or at least let me know I'm not alone and maybe this is a Google server issue.
I have had similar behavior with Google assistant acting up, again just very recently and it used to be flawless. Must be Google update version issue. Maybe we can roll back to previous version?
I'm having the issue with the missing voice to text on Gboard. It's also missing from lgboard and I'm not able to add it to the board under settings because the mic icon doesn't exist. I know gapps is the issue, but I have no idea why. Looking for a solution.
What solved it for me was signing up for Google play services beta and the Google app beta. Been flawless since.
I'm on a stock Verizon Google pixel. W/ unlocked bootloader. I started having this issue as well. Will try to see about the beta thing you mentioned.
The only short term solution I've found is restarting my phone. But otherwise it's really inconvenient.
Hasn't seemed I've been happening as much. But my Google assistant and or Google Voice search would freeze I would have to reboot the phone to get it to work again. I'm stock Verizon v20
Gotta be an issue on Google end. Hopefully they fix it soon
Recently I am having notification delays with my S7 Edge G935F. I have read through some posts on this forum and other sources and can't figure it out.
Here are some of the problems:
1. notifications are often delayed for more than thirty minutes
2. if I want to manually check notification when it does not pop up, unlocking the screen does not make the notification show, I have to actually launch the specific app to see the notification
3. It is more than just not showing the notification, when I am using some instant messaging apps (like WeChat), I can't see new messages coming in while the app is running in the front. I have to press the home button and get back to home screen, then re-enter the app, then the messages show up. This happens to many other apps as well.
4. Other things go wrong as well. For example, my Android Auto was set to launch whenever I get into my car and car bluetooth is connected. It is also delayed, by more than hours. It often launches long after I finish my driving and get back home sitting on my couch.
5. Downloading new apps from Play Store has problems as well. It downloads to 100% and just stops there, it does not start installation. I have to use Settings->App to kill Play Store and re-open it to "refresh" it, then it starts to install.
6. After installation of new app, it does not show up on my screen or app draw inside my launcher. I can see the app installed in Play Store. I have to kill launcher and re-open the launcher to make it "refresh" the app list then I can see new app inside the app draw.
I have also tried a lot of ways to fix it:
1. change app to not battery optimized -> didn't fix it
2. update firmware -> didn't fix it
3. factory reset -> works for the first day then it goes wrong again
4. flash to a different firmware (official ROM in different regions) -> works for the first day then it goes wrong again
5. use third-party ROM (Lineage OS) -> completely fix the problem, but too buggy to use
I can see the general idea of what's going wrong, some events happened (connected to car Bluetooth, new messages coming, app finished downloading, new app installed, etc.) and the system is not responding correctly. I am not very familiar with Android development but I feel like something is wrong with the "event handling" or "event raising" inside Samsung's Android system.
Please post reply if you have any idea or are facing the similar problems.
EDIT:
The phone is on Android 7.0, Build Number NRD90M.G935FXXU1DQER
You've stated that flashing the custom ROM solved the problem, so maybe you should try flashing a different rom that's a bit more stable.
From personal experience i can recommend the SuperStock rom. It's stock (obviously) and it's debloated and very stable with pretty good battery life as far as i remember.
there is some info about it here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/help/want-to-root-custom-one-stay-stock-t3631098?styleid=18 (ignore the root part).
Hi,
did you find any solution to this problem ? cause i got the same problem, and i'm going crazy... few months already and can't figure out what is the problem...
the temporary fix i've found is disabling the "google app" in application manager... it fix the problem but i can't use any Google app features (and i like using them...).
I've found few ppl experiencing the same problem searching on internet but no one with a real fix...
if someone more experienced can help debut this it would really mean a lot...
I think it is the battery optimization setting. You may check the settings>battery>advanced settings>optimize apps. You need to keep the apps un-optimized if you want the notifications and sync.
Also, you may check if Sync is on or off.
If these two does not solve, factory reset if you are on stock ROM. If on a custom ROM, you may check a different ROM
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Actually none of this works... The only thing that "fixes" the issue is disabling the Google app in the application manager... That's why its so weird...
The problem started around July/August 2017 for me...
As i discovered that disabling Google was fixing the problem, i assumed that they'll correct it by updating the app... But only one update of the app was ok, all others would make the problems reappear...
Messing with battery optimization settings doesn't change anything for me... Factory reset as well... The problem comes back as soon as the google app gets updated...
Try clearing cache and deleting data from the Google app the time the problem occurs
already tried... doesn't help at all...
