May be kinds of a noob question but, If I wanted to go from bonsai to viper to whichever other one I wanted. can I go from One to the other with no problems or do I have to flash back to stock dk28?

As long as the roms are the same version then you may switch. I.e.. 2.2 to 2.2 or 2.1 to 2.1.
All you'll want to do is clear data and cache on the flash over to remove the chances of conflict

Ok thanx, but do I have to clear factory data as well. Or can I just do dalvik cache?

No need to clear dalvik. The flash over does it alrdy. Clear the data/cache in cwm.

I just updated my aria to the latest 2.2 liberated Rom. I installed it this morning and now just realized it said to wipe data before I installed it. But I didn't. I just plain out installed it. It seems like its running fine. But what do I do? Do I still need to wipe data or something?

If it were me, I would do a backup and wipe it then re-install, but If you are not experiencing any issues, then it does not seem like you need to. If you do encounter any issues, Then definitely do it.
No need to wipe data if you are going from a liberty to liberty, if you went to liberty to cm6 then yes you would need to wipe data..

Don't think too complicated for this, if you don't have problem, then let it be.
To tell you to wipe, is to lower the chance to have problem.
It's just same as upgrading/change of different OS of you PC.
e.g. One maybe painless from XP -> Vista without format, the other maybe turns out blue screen.
Okay I have been playing around with roms but right now I jhus flashed back to original 2.2 backup after I rooted but applications keep force closing

First thing people will ask is, "Did you delete cache and dalvik cache before restoring?"
Yes I did I did it everytime no matter wat

Do a full wipe and format cache and dalvik cache also
Then reflash miui and that should work

I did on recovery because it doesn't work on rom manager
Happened to me a couple releases back. Agreed with joemoss, I re-wiped data, cache & dalvik, reflashed, everything was fine.

Yes, but next time please ask questions like this in the thread for the rom that you want to switch to as this question did not warrant the starting of a new thread! We already have way to many threads like this cluttering up the forums!

ok sorry. So all I do is boot into recover and wipe cache then install?

For me I leave it on charge and at 100% I boot into recovery wipe cache, devlik cache, then factory reset but you may get buy without having to do factory reset since although different it still is cm 7 but if you don't factory reset and it won't boot do a factory reset then it should boot

It does support them but not as a blur rom does cm7 puts internal under mnt/emmc and I think miui best I remember is the opposite. But mods can be done to switch them.

What is the cleanest way to upgrade for Smoothest Rom? I've read its just cleaning cache and dalvic but for others I also read factory resetting makes it so its completely cleaned before upgrading?
So which way is the "cleanest" way to upgrade?
I just wiped both caches and then upgraded to smoothest 5.1. Is this gonna cause problems later?
Please help

Whenever I flash a new rom I always:
Wipe both caches and then Factory Reset
Then I flash the new ROM, it's always a safer bet too.

I do the same and it always works.
The absolute cleanest way to upgrade will always be to format system and data as well as cache before flashing. When you're just updating top a new version of the same ROM, though, that usually isn't necessary.
