TwLauncher A-Z with JPX firmware HELP - Galaxy S I9000 General

Just flashed with odin up to the latest jpx firmware. I restored all my apps using titanium backup - all 120 of them!! I then went into the twlauncher and deleted the data hoping to get an a to z list but it doesn't work :-(
I do want to keep the twlauncher as i like the samsung Program Control widget which is only available on the twlauncher home screen.
Has anyone figured out how to fix this?
Thanx

Download one of these variants. i9000 TwLauncher does not have alphabetical sorting capabilities.

120 apps? always baffles me. Guessing you don't even use 10% of them! Phone performs a lot better with less apps on it.

Ahh, updated to XXJPY, all good again. I just can't do without the samsung task manager widget, it works really well with no need to add excluded tasks etc.

x10 2.1 default battery optimiser

there is a small default app which works to save battery..i used it and found it really effective,it summarizes all battery eating stuff in one place.
if you have default 2.1 just go to application "support" and then click on tools and there you will find this battery optimiser
worked good for me,quick way to save juice

In the app drawer there is an app called Support. Once you run it there is a tab called tools. That's where it's at. The icon is a gear with a question mark on it.

yeah it is nothing NEW,all it do is ,it summaraizes all the battery eating stuff at one place,so it becomes really easy for everybody to do everything from there rather than going to millions of settings to do the same,i still have 85% after 12 hours with moderate usage.

I am about to travel abroad, so I won't be able to use mobile internet at all and I really need the extra battery life, as I'm probably going to be wandering around all day!
So today, for testing purposes, I fiddled with the settings from this app, and in the last 12 hours I only lost 20%! That's quite awesome!
It's nice to have those settings gathered together!
Thanks for the find!
hmm, is there any way to get this app back on the phone?
one way for sure, PC Companion and Repair!
And second one would be... gimme moment.... made a Backup of ALL Apps. should finde it here somewhere... *searching*
Nope sorry, just made a Backup from all installed Apps and not Pre installed
P.S Here some Pictures of Battery Optimizer. Just found him out of curiosity 2 weeks ago ^^
Already had only 2 left when i found it ^^
I haven't this either and i just did a re-flash so all the apps are back and no "support" app at all :/
Ok, I found it in the thread of 'all 2.1 system apps'.
Here it is for whoever else wanted it.
Out of interest I tried to install on FreeX10 beta 4, but to no avail. What settings are you able to control? Is it like wifi/2+3G data/blue tooth on/off policies?
It's strange that this is so hard to find in 2.1 because 2.2 is the same way. There are many advanced settings hidden in the power control widget that have increased my battery life with 2.2 far beyond what I got with 2.1 optimized. Not to mention, I haven't come close to going over on my data plan for the first time, and no need to use APNdroid anymore. You would never know they were there if you didn't look for them. I wonder if this "hiding" is an attempt to run up our data plans and encourage battery sales?
@Batman_112, Good to see you made it out of the batcave. Lots been happening while you were away. Welcome back! ( ^o^) lol

Very good.
I knew that, but like I said, out of curiosity I tried anyway. Thanks though.
Can you answer my question, since I wasn't able to check it out? What type of additional settings are there? Are they like the ones I described from 2.2?

(Hint) Touchwhiz Launcher

I don't know if anyone has posted this but I found a little trick that made me say "well duh that makes sense."
So I actually like the touchehiz launcher but was having a tough time keeping my apps straight with the new 2.3.3 version as it only allows an editable grid or alphabetical list. I tried adding an old modded version but got a force close. When I restored all my apps were alphabetical in a grid view again. I went about moving the apps around and then went to settings/application/all and cleared the data of TWLauncher and my apps are again alphabetical.
The downfall of doing this is you lose your Widgets but after awhile its the easiest way to clean up the app drawer.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
Dude I know a lot of new people here will be delighted to know that but that has been known since anyone posted about wanting to rearrange apps in apps drawer. Nice though that you have the courage to post it again.
Well I may have just forgotten since I've become so accustomed to the modded tw launcher and know that we don't yet have a modded version for GB. I'm sure there is more than one or two frustrated trying to keep all their apps in order right now.

Go dig yourself a hole under that ungrateful bridge of yours.
Well know one, but the best method is download an app in market which can sort the Twlauncher in alphabetical order without cleaning the widget together.
It is call TouchWiz Application Sorter
+1 for the Application Sorter

Launcher Pro Bookmark keeps on foreclosing

It worked fine when I was on stock ECO5.
When I moved to a Frozen 1.2 or Random Rom 2.2 it keeps on foreclosing.
I tried removing the app and downloading it from the market but it does the same thing.
Once I unlock the app I can add any launcher pro plus widget but once I add the bookmark widget it keeps on telling me that "The application LauncherPro (process android.process.acore) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"
It wont even let me hit foreclose it closes the pop up itself and then it just pops back up on a continuous loop.
I went back to odin ECO5 and tried adding bookmark and it works fine and fully functional.
Go back to a ECO5 rom and the bug pops up again.
Can anyone help? Or know what the cause of it is?
Same issue here, with midnight rom 5.3. searched but didnt come up with much results about it. maybe people don't use this widget from LP that much -.-

Then it makes no sense why its on nearly every rom and some its the defualt launcher and in some its the ONLY LAUNCHER!
Im trying Chris4g's EF02 stock rom right now Hopefully it will work on there. I plan on using Compkids ef02 rom after that.
Did you pay your monthly bill to prevent foreclosure?
Make sure you make launcher pro produce the note if they're trying to foreclose on you.
This happened to me on SFR 1.2 and made it turn into inevtiable LP force closes and ruined the whole expirieince. Go back to stock though and everythings fine.
It's the stock browser causing it. I had same problem and couldn't stay on the rom I was on because I only use launcher pro and use bookmark widget. I think they used a browser that does not have the checkerboarding issue and it doesn't work right with launcher pro.

so what the solution would be to change the stock browser before adding the bookmark widget and it will work?
Yes use root explorer and replace stock browser(I think they are using browser from European galaxy s) with epic stock browser. Let me know if it works for you. I think I remember it working, but I am now on ef02 leak with no issues.

Problems with every rom

I've tried many different roms such as jvo, jvh, jvp and jvq. I've tried darkys, juwes, gingerreal , f1, insanity and miui but they all have these problems after the phone has been 'up' for over a day. When I exit a game using home or back my launcher restarts.

You are using tw launcher ? If not, you should check your task killer program. Maybe you got the option "stAy in ram". If yes, choose it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1175514&highlight=launcher+restarts
I havent tried the stuff in this thread but it is interesting, and on the second page, there is a posted .apk that apparently solves it..
Like saphirrot said, if the launcher has a 'stay in mem' option, check it. I've done that with Launcher Pro and the launcher restart happens far far less.
It's just android freeing up ram for the game. It's a pain in the ass but better than not being able to run a game because of low memory.

I use super manager or astro manager. They have app managers and allow you to install .apk files. Super manager is great if you have root access as you can uninstall bloatware apps like aldiko, layar etc. Make sure to backup app just in case anything goes wrong.

Thanks guys I installed the apk and my launcher no longer restarts but apps still close even when I go off them using the home button so I can return to them in a minute and be where I left it. Is there any apk for this as it is frustrating when you go off an app for a minute only to find it's closed when u go back on it.

Nothing is wrong. It's running out of memory. Android shall release background tasks if foreground tasks need the memory. Since Gingerbread, you can no longer force most things to stay in memory so those features are mostly useless these days. Should have kept to one ROM and asked your question in its thread. Too many things to suggest to tune it properly really. Uninstalling system apps you don't use and trying different kernels are your last options.

This is completely unacceptable then, you can't even multitask. And after the phone has been 'up' for over 12 hours you can't even keep the dialer in memory! There must be a way around this. A smartphone should not take over 3 seconds to open the dialer.

I have never seen this problem before, and since it so several I have to assume that if other people had it, they would have posted about it.
That means that it is either due to a problem with your hardware, or due to something you are installing/configuring. I would do a full factory default then add apps back very slowly, one by one, doing some basic testing in between. That way you may be able to isolate the problem.
If it still happens right after the factory reset, take the phone to a service center.

I have seen people talk about it but the answers are since gingerbread apps get closed because of memory meaning that the dialer doesn't even stay in memory after the phone has been booted.for a while.

Reduce battery fast drain by disabling some stock processes.

This practice doesn't cause any problems on my GNote with stock ICS ROM 4.0.3.
However, it helps saving more juice or not? still curious but I think it's perceptible!
I went to Setting > Applications > All > tab and DISABLE the following processes;
Accuweather Weather Daemon
AccuWeather.com
Android live wallpapers * use only still wallpaper
AP mobile news
Application monitor
Aurora 2
Blue sea
Calculator * already installed RealCalc
Days
DioPen Chinese IME * have nothing to do with Chinese typing
Dual clock
Face Unlock * don't have enough handsome face for this
Google Search
Kobo
Let's try panning
Mini diary
MusicFX
My files * use zipper7
News & Weather
Photo wall
PressReader
Reader Hub
S Planner Widget
Samsung TTS * use stock Google TTS
Social Hub
Social Hub * there are 2 social hubs
Swype * use only Samsung keyboard

Then reboot once.

These apps are built in the rom so the only way is to disable them.

As I heard some third party appskiller app are unsafe to use. Because if you killed the wrong thing, your smartphone will get even more in battery drain. So i wonder if this disable thing is the same? Like disable things which shouldnt disable will cause more battery in draining.
