Nexus S has its disadvantages but we love it
oic..then is the screen scratch resistance?
like nexus one?
Nah ... Nexus S is using a new tech called King Kong Glass. It is created as join research between Google, Toshiba and Samsung.

Because there isn't already a huge topic about this.

So does this thing have it like the rest of the gs line? The curved glass makes me doubt it... and isn't this the only galaxy s phone with the Teflon coating?

I would imagine, Samsung said they implemented it in the SAMOLED itself, look at video with the guy shooting his Tab, not a scratch on it.

I don't get it, I got a captivate on black Friday for free and it comes with gorilla glass, but they want $529 for the Nexus S that comes with good-luck-hopefully-you-never-drop-it glass? It doesn't add up.

Jeez, every thread I read has you in there bashing the s in some way.
We get it already.

In my opinion the only reason it isn't a GG is possibly due to the Contour Display. I'm not too familiar with the production process of the screen, but it may be a factor.
But for all we know it could be just for cost-cutting purposes.
What teflon coating is there?
I got to play with one today and the glass screen felt rough, is that the coating? I thought maybe it was a screen protector but didn't know...

Google's just trying to make up the money they lost on the N1.
The teflon coating people are asking about is the oleophobic coating on the screen.

Was product as described? How long did the shipping take?
Exactly as described, no scratches, nothing missing. And I would say, a little over 2 weeks?

Nope.. nothing far fetched as that i slipped on some mud on a pavement and the phone was in my back pocket.. so just imagine clamping an apple in a Vice/G Clamp, squashed! that's what happen to the LCD screen in between the Gorilla Glass and Battery. the Man in the Three store was amazing to see it so badly damaged and he his colleague and my brother had one too.. i felt so guilty!

In Soviet Russia, face unlocks YOU!
So, in a nutshell, you have to facepalm with your phone onto your face to use faceunlock?

Hell I am not an iphone fan BUT if the phone works and the screen has no scratches on it for the price of 240, you can't go wrong with this.

Cool to know!

So I think it's safe to say to the folks over in the ''tempered glass Screen protector" thread that they should be blaming Corning for their halo problems.

Why should they blame Corning? They bought a flat, solid screen protector and put it on a screen with curved edges lol.

wow me having to replace my cracked screen loses that GG4............
I'm sure it depends on when your note 4 was manufactured. If it was version 3 or 4?

There is v3 or v4 of Note 4?
How do you find out what version your note is?
I'm only going by when corning released the glass. I'm sure Samsung is using the latest 4 once it was made available.
Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk
According to Corning and Samsung, the Note 4 only shipped with GG4.
There is no mention of GG3 in any documentation or press releases from Samsung and Corning states the Note 4 uses GG4.

It's actually very relevant. Yes, glass will always break/crack/shatter. However, GG4 has been proven to be able to take quite a bit more of a beating than GG3 before breaking. Every little bit helps.
