I accidantally odined my cell(i500) using incorrct firmware(i9000).
Some of articles said that when I rewrite the stock firmware, I would be fine.
So, I tried 2 stock roms(DI01package3.tar and Stock-i500-VZW-Recovery.tar) which can find in this site.
But, they always failed during odin....
Please Help me.
Going to need to talk to VZW about getting it replaced...
you'll need to get a new phone because if I remember right this is a complete brick, try going to freenode and get in the #samsung-fascinate channel and see if there is a solution but chances are slim

Can you please post this in the q n a section. This is the development part of the forum not the oh crap I need help. I would try using Odin to revert back to stock. You will need the right drivers on your computer, Odin, and the stock files for Odin. This can all be found in this forum.

You must be using Swype.
use odin to flash the stock 2.1 and you will be good pm me if you need more help
You can easily fix it. Follow this link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=739091
Also, I'm moving this to the general section.
Flashing just to stock 2.1 won't help you, unless maybe if you check for re-partitioning your phone.
What helped for me in the exact same situation was following the guide to stock the froyo that doesn't brick (you'll find it easy). Then you can downgrade to stock. Both with Odin.
what do i do btw im in 8th grade
Did you get the update from Tmobile? A msg at the top saying an update is available, and did you go ahead and download and install it?
If so, and after it tried to reboot it got stuck at the Vibrant screen... here's a fix... follow the instructions, very easy. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803492
If you don't want to attempt that then go to TMO and tell them and you'll be sent a new Vibrant
yes and i posred this today why does it say yesterday

Try pulling the battery out for a few minutes and put it back in. Then wait for more than 10 minutes for it to come up. If it doesn't, post back.
I would really use odin 1.30 instead of the one in that thread.
Yeah, once someone sent me the links to exactly where the drivers, PIT and .tar files are, I found Odin (1.3) to be SUPER quick and easy, in terms of getting back to stock and un-bricking my phone.
I searched here and google but can't find a download for odin 1.3.
Can someone post a link plz? Ty in advance

Mine is the same as him. I got the tmobile message on my vibrant and i hit update. then it said update failed. Now my phone is stuck at the logo screen. My latest nanoid backup was 10 days ago and that doesn't cut it. i have everything on my phone. is there any way to fix this without wiping the data on my phone? The only thing i did to my phone was root, segmented battery % and i used the evo blackbar metamorph.
This happened to me today. TMO sucks as a company i know i worked for them they are a bunch of morons.....anyway i digress.
Um what i did was use odin i belive the link is in the link posted. Every file u need is in there and it will take awhile to download. Once downloaded just flash it back to stock then flash it to JI6 if you want.
IMO i think anyone who gets the update should decline it and download via odin. Seriously i didn't add any custom roms cuz i wanted to be legit and get updates normally but i forgot im dealing with tmo. Flashing Bionixs now, screw being legit.

Did you lose any data when you used odin?
If you just use odin to install the update then no, you won't lose data.
If you're one of the unfortunate ones to try the ota update and got soft bricked then you will be flashing the original firmware and will lose data

Ok first off this is what I used to create the problem I have right now.
I was able to get it to "install" and start up but it just keeps boot cycling on the boot screen.
So, I was going to go back to stock and then go back up to 2.2 leak for US.
Well... That didn't happen. Instead whenever I use Odin, it gets to boot.bin then crashes, except when I try to re-flash from the said above link ROM. Then it just does what it did before, boot screen cycle.
So, question is, is my phone bricked or is there a way for me to fix it.
YES I HAVE READ THIS: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=773032
I've done everything exactly and like I said, Odin crashes on the boot.bin install every time.
Did adding the modem screen up the process?
Also, I know that my .tar files work because I used them prior to this problem without any problems at all.
Thank you
EDIT:http://www.talkandroid.com/23911-android-2-2-1-xxjpu-rom-from-kalpik-gives-galaxy-s-some-pep/
actually I lied, I got my rom from the link here and followed the instructions on the other site. ... I think, ugh I've been working on it for too long now.
Try putting the file in Phone instead of PDA
Follow this thread exactly, battery out and sd card out, PIT file and repartition:

I was able to get the phone into download mode. I assume there is something I am able to do with odin to get this working again, not sure what. Can I get some help?
You'll need to give little more information... What did you do prior to this? What build/baseband/ROM are you on? Details.

I'm currently on EB01 with superclean v2.3 nonvoodoo. I was trying to get bln working and I must have flashed the wrong kernel to the phone. I was under the assumption that the kernel worked on all phone models. I have found this link here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=867648 which is the stock.tar file. I assume pushing that to the phone using odin will return me to stock?
BLN support doesn't exist yet for 2.2 on the fascinate, since we don't have the kernel source to make custom kernels.
Can you boot into CWM? If so, you can just flash the eb01 kernel and that should fix it. Otherwise, flash back to stock and start over
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
That would explain where I went wrong.
I either can't boot to CWM or I am doing it wrong. I thought it was hold volume+ power and home.
Thanks for the help btw
So I was able to get it to boot to recovery. Does that mean I can use odin and just flash EB01?
You don't need to odin the whole package, just flash the kernel with cwm. That way you don't have to start from scratch, unless you want to

Hey Guys,
Iam trying to flash my samsung vibrant to a new ROM. But what if I wont like it and want to go back to an original firmware my phone came with? I tried searching answers but there are multiple ones and I cant understand it so figured I ask here. Can I somehow backup my current version or download it so I can go back to just stock firmware that the phone came out the box?
Thanks for your help
You can make a back up with rom manager or you can learn to odin back to stock. Check the stickies or search for more info.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
thanks, tried rom manager but cant get it to backup need to look into odin backup
Odin doesn't do backups, you can flash back your stock Froyo rom using it though.
Search in here how to flash back to stock throthroug odin so u can download the proper ROM

In order to make a backup, you need to be rooted, in order to root you need to have an update.zip file on your phone in order for the file to work you need to be on 2.1 firmware, you can probably find the file stickied in the development section, or q/a section.

Odin is the ticket. It doesn't do a backup - it restores your phone to it's fresh out of the box state. There are 2 files you need, but they're easy to find.
But blaqr0d is going to be right - once you start flashing you will only want to go back to stock if you encounter a problem.
Here's a vid I think is very helpful.
OP, please read my stickies in my signature. You will learn a lot and not waste others time.
