Hi all. Thought I'd share my findings after tralling the internet the other day about lag.
Found on here someone said that turning off fast boot had helped them with some lagging on a ROM, so tried it myself on the stock ROM and its made a massive difference! General use is much much better and lag free, and now Angry Birds doesn't lag even with ads on.
Hope this may be useful to some, especially when searching.
Cheers.
Owen.

Thanks. Trying out now.

No difference to me, on and off performs the same .....placebo?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Don't think is that causes it.
Turning off fast boot means that on restart the memory is wiped of all running applications. Therefore if you have bad appz that just keep running and consuming cpu cycles, then a reboot with fast boot off will indeed improve performance....at least until you restart the offending apps.

I think if you click enable usb debugging that will help you drastically
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I've had debugging switched on since having my phone and and it still lags. After switching fast boot off its made a considerable difference. Don't know if the memory used by it has now been freed up to be used by the system instead?
In happy with it anyway

How do you turn off fast boot?

Yes, it seems to happen when you press back key while in landscape. I uninstalled the update.
Yep same here had to pull my battery which isn't good cos battery cover is so flimsy . Uninstalled

Yeah I had this today. Thanks for the tip guys.
Really bizarre thing ran Quadrant with the update of Youtube got 1933
Uninstalled the update for youtube then ran quadrant again got 2057
Yeah i noticed the same problem, there are several comments in the android market that desire hd owners are having the same problem. i hope google will fix it soon
Like the title says XDA app force closes when trying to create a new post every time. It also force closes when I try to hit the back button to exit. When I go back into the app it loses my login settings.
Have tried a factory restore and uninstalling/reinstalling the app. No luck. Seen a few more force closes in other apps too. Should I exchange this thing or what?
Its not the zoom fool. Same thing.happens on my epic. Im constantly deleting and reinstalling xda app. Somethings horridly wrong with it lol

I assumed it worked somewhat. Since people are posting for the app with their Xoom. I will give it a few days and see.

Looks like original tapatalk works for those that are having the same problem.

I had the same exact problem with the xda premium app on the xoom; also i sometimes got FC problems on my galaxy tab with the same app but most of the time it worked normally on the tab. Now it consistently FC on the same doing the same actions as in your situation.
It has the same problem on the Gtablet. You know though, if you have 10 inches of viewing space just make a bookmark in your browser and put a link on your desktop.

Bookmarks are great and all but xda's site is slow in the browser.

Same problem on my Nexus One, Nexus S, and my xoom.

Lol... the app designed for one of the largest android communities on the planet is freakin broken? I would chalk that up as extremely embarrassing.
Use Tap Talk Pro, it is basically the same thing. And works for many other forums too.
No problem on my nexus S ....
Is there any plan for Honeycomb optimized XDA App?
With thread list in the left and content in the right.
That would be awesome

XDA (non premium) app FC's on my new Wifi Xoom. But it works fine on my Dinc, fwiw. Hopefully someone in XDA Developers can find a solution. I also don't understand why the XDA web site is so slow on the Xoom browser. Much slower to load than every other website that I regularly visit. Don't see this on my Win7 PC using Chrome.

I agree and has been the case since I got my Xoom (slow in browser and slow to type).
Same problems with my MZ604 as well. I can reproduce a crash every time by logging in, click a forum, then click an individual post, kaboom. Even if I click into a few different forums first, once I hit a post, FC.
I've been able to view posts before, but once I clicked on a post with an attachment it no longer worked until a reinstall.
I also get this weird problem with xda app on the xoom where the op kind of blurs and slows everything down when scrolling, even if its quoted. I've been using tapatalk on the xoom instead

lets just hope they are working on a tablet version. #Team Xoom and EVO

Using FroyMOD, but had the same issues with CM7, and ShadowmodBR 0.9.16, and if i posted this on the wrong section i am indeed very sorry, been an android user for almost a year now but still new to XDA-Developers
Hi everyone I need help, I am not a noon to flashing etc. However my camera and camcorder have suddenly stopped working, everytime I open either one it just freezes at a backscreen. I thought it would be a bug in a Rom so I switched but It's not working. Tried everything ...if anyone can help it would be appreciated
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
If you tried another rom with full wipe and the issue is occurring the next think to do is to flash an ruu file.

Fixed...for now...I switched to stock sense and it wasn't working, I turned my phone off for the night and when I woke up in the morning it was working. Will have to see if its working on other roms, thanx for the tips though
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
Have you concluded that the fix was leaving your phone off over night? I have the same issue and have tried a few different rom's none of which have fixed it. I was at the point of returning the phone to be repaired.
I guess I'm really asking, did you do anything else? Remove some software, try a specific rom?
It happened to my camera...but that might be due to the fact that the plastic cover in front of the lens has broken orf and the actual camera unit has taken quite a beating! Works now, I went for a run and when I came back it was perfect
Maybe the running jolted it back into position? Try the same thing xD
Could be that you need to go back to stock and make it like it came from the factory. I wonder if overclocking can damage the camera unit?
I just full wiped and went back on the stock rom, turned my phone off and woke up in the morning and the camera was working switched back to other roms and it was working on all of them.. Hopefullly this will work
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
if you have changed rom and the problem persists chances are it's hardware related. I have seen a dhd with similar problems, aswell as wifi problems and it was due to overheating. If you took out the battery it would work for a few hours but then it would do the same
Anyone still having any camera problems??

Im having this problem as well. Exactly like the OP. Not too keen on flashing back to stock rom however.
I did see someone mentioning problems with wifi in conjunction with the camera problem. I have this as well.
Anyone with a fix would be greatly appreciated

Been using the HD android revolution Rom for awhile now. Currently on 6.1.3 which includes pershoots kernel.
Hi...i've been using my tab for 8 months...now my tab performance is not satisfactory.....sometimes the touch never responds, more ofently it makes few vibrates and shutt off on its own and then restarts in 5 to 10 mins.....after it gets restarted the apps on my sd card never shows.....
This happens many times in a day which makes me to switch off each and everytime..it freezed when some video or HD game played and automatically goes to sleep mode without any response after many touches......
PLEASE HELP ME OUT FROM THIS.....PLSSSS

which version of android system you have installed in your tab, I had had some of these issues you mention but after I do back up my data, and do a full whip then install 2.3.6 ROM multilang, multi csc, by AF974, I begin to enjoy using my tab again.
