hi there
i need to replace a few of the original apk on my LG Optimus one P500, italy - does anybody have them so that i can do a clean installation? actually i copied those i needed from my friend's phone, (apk and odex) and tried to install them again but i get an installation error, i have root, etc etc. any clues why?
is there an official repository from LG with the original apps of this phone i can download from somewhere?
thanks
gabrio
if anybody needs it, i have found 2 original repositories for LG Optimus One.

I couldn't reinstall anymore apks deleted from /system/app with amberhome. I had to recoock rom :/
Please, please post the LG Home apk, I foolishily deleted it from my Optimus One and I've heard that the phone may be bricked if I uninstall my third party launcher.

Thanks for uploading but I get the message that the application cannot be installed. Got any ideas? I can't seem to move the files into correct directory either.
Try to restore it, maybe work.
I used a website that allowed me to copy your files to the right directory (I can't post it here because I am a new user). However, I cannot actually install the apk which is a worry. But I think the phone wouldn't brick now if I chose to restore or whatever since the files are there. Don't want to take the risk just yet though.
My suggestion was to try restore the LgHome.apk with some app what support backup/restore, like SystemApp Remover. If doesn't work just use other home luncher, don't do a factory reset, because i get LgSetup wizzard error, black screen with no system launcher, and launcer pro was installed. So take care.
Try this one LGHome.apk. Hope is work.
looks like they sent u already. what happened to me was that i deleted it, then the phone would be lock at the android BOOT screen with the flashing logo BUT i managed to connect it to the pc and then launch "adb shell". via adb i pushed the Lg Home.apk to the system/app (i also had to change permissions of the phone file system via linux commands) then it worked, actually downloaded launcher pro right away and i love it, not using LG Home.apk anymore.
regarding uploading the file via adb:
1 adb shell
2 su
3 set permissions of the file system to be mounted r/w, SHOULD be this : mount -t yaffs2 -o rw,remount /dev/block/mtdblock6 /system
4 exit (one for exiting su)
5 exit (exiting)
then exit the shell from the phone.
> adb push LGHome.apk system/app // important, if you have a space in the filename you'll have a problem with adb and have the .apk file locally on the same folder where you have adb.exe otherwise you'll have a problem or you'll have to add adb to the path of your windows/linux path env variables, hence use adb push LG*Home.apk system/app - should work otherwise just rename it w/o space, works anyway.
then reboot it should work!

Yes I have file in the correct directory with correct permissions too, but can you actually install it to the phone? Or does it fail like it does for me?
Have you trying this one?? To me is installing fine, but get error when try to open it, maybe couse i have prime rom with apps2sd. Anyway i dont use LgHome.
That's not the real LG Home its one that's been hacked to use on devices that didn't have it preinstalled. The one you gave before was an original but it doesn't install which is really pissing me off.

my phone couldn't start anymore (stuck @ android logo) and i copied this one from my friend's LG O1 (same as mine) bought in italy, same store i did, and it worked. actually the home didn't have all icons i had before so looked "weird" but at least i was able to start up the phone. then you can re-add to the home screen the apps and worked.
eventually i installed launcher PRO and im using that one now, much better.

im not sure that all versions are identical, that is what helped me and managed to have the phone start up.
But did you install it or just place it in the directory?
Same LGHome problem here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=886911. But if you can navigate in the phone and are not stuck in boot logo or black screen, why need LG launcher. Just don't do factory reset cause you will get a phone with no launcher.
Merry Christmas everyone!

What version do you currently have?
Did it come with your rom or did you download it?
You can backup your settings (export) to your sdcard and restore (import) with the new version if by chance your settings are not preserved.
Im using CM 5.0.8 ,and it came with 0.8.9.
And how do i go about doing that export/import?
Either download link from your phone and install or download on PC put on SD card open file manager and install are easiest. Put it on a friends phone. Looks good. Backup and restore are in settings adw.

Do a search for ADW.Launcher in the Market, it's there. Just make sure you have a period in between "ADW" and "Launcher."
Hey,
I'm interested in updating the ADW.Launcher version that came with my CM5.0.8 rom, but I don't know if it's OK to update through market or get the apk file and use "adb install" or find a zip file to flash...
Could anyone make some light in here pls?
Thanks!
I have tried downloading the apk file for my CM5x and MDPI device from Anderweb's page but when I tried to "adb install" I get...
INSTALL_FAILED_ALREADY_EXISTS
Can someone shed some light? Is there a way to update the ADW.Launcher that comes with a specific ROM version?
Tried using android commander?
Sent from my Chromatic Magic using XDA App
Since I'm new to this scene, what is the difference between the "adb install" method and using the Android Commander (which I need install)?
Would Astro help in this case, because I remember reading that has support for installing apk files?
I'd like to do this update as clean as possible.
Thank you for the reply!
PS: I have actually installed Android Commander and installed the ADW.Launcher apk for CM5x MDPI as an Update (wasn't sure what to chose between Private, Application or Update) and the installer said it was successful but after reboot I still have the old version 0.8.6
Any ideas?
U can download it put it on your sdcard and install with a file manager. Doesn't matter which way u go. Should work. Done it both ways
Sent from my Chromatic Magic using XDA App
I did it somewhat the way you said and installed it with Android Explorer as an update because the regular installation would fail with the error that the application already exists.
The problem is that the new version gets copied into /data/apps/ and I can start using it but after the first reboot it's not there anymore and I get back to the one that came with my CM5.0.8 rom which is in /system/apps/
I would really like to get a solution that would update the one in /system/apps/ which might be harder because it's a memory mapped version of the ROM and changes get lost after reboot.
Please correct me where I am wrong...
Have u tried goin to the market and installing it from there? It's like version 1.4.1 or something now
Sent from my Chromatic Magic using XDA App
place the file on your /sd.
adb push /sdcard/filename.apk /system/app
restart home or reboot phone.
I ended up installing the one from Market and making that the default launcher, but I would really like to just replace the one in the system folder - no need to keep 2 versions of the same app
I'll try the method NetrixTardis was suggesting.
U can do it through the terminal as well. Maybe removing the old one will solve it. Use the rm command in the terminal and see if u can do it that way. Ex.
$su (enter after each line)
#rm /system/app/(name of app.apk)
Then u can use cp command to copy the one from your sdcard.
Cp /sdcard/(app.apk) /system/app/
Someone correct me if I'm wrong in the lines
Sent from my Chromatic Magic using XDA App
hey johnson8cyl
I'll try that and let you know if it worked, should I copy it to the same name?
like /system/app/adwlauncher.apk is the name for the system app, while the Market installed one is org.adwlauncher....apk
do you guys know a good keyboard replacement and a way to configure the vibration alarm on my CM5.0.8? these are mostly the things I miss from my stock ROM
oh...forgot to mention the CM5.0.8 default camera does not have all the setting (like I can't set the ISO), is there one that does that trick?
thanks!
I'll answer the keyboard part. I've got Smart Keyboard installed and its a lot better than the stock Android one.
Sent from my HTC Magic using XDA App
U have to use the names exactly the one your removing and one your copying. Names have to be what u want to remove or copy. That make sense?
Sent from my Chromatic Magic using XDA App
Makes total sense to keep the same names only that I have this problem...
any ideas? kinda makes sense because that comes from the ROM and is mounted as read-only
# su
su
# pwd
pwd
/system/app
# rm -f ADWLauncher.apk
rm -f ADWLauncher.apk
rm: can't remove 'ADWLauncher.apk': Read-only file system
ps: I actually managed to fix this what was missing is "adb remount" to mount system partition read-write
So you figured it out? Were you able to get it removed and replaced?

I've tried this twice already with a factory reset in between each try, and it's worked both times!
Attached is a bunch of files you will need to make this work.
Download the attached Zip file and extrat the contents to your desktop
Mount your G and upload the "G Tablet" folder to your G's internal SD card
Using AndRootFile or any other file manager that supports root access, mount as R/W, and copy the contents of G Tablet\permissions to System\etc\permissions.
Copy the contents of G Tablet\framework to System\Framework
Copy the contents of G Tablet\lib to System\lib
Copy all the APK's found inside G Tablet\APK into your system\app folder.
Install them in this order:
GoogleServicesFramework.apk
OneTimeInitializer.apk
SetupWizard.apk
Talk.apk
Vending.apk
Gmail.apk
Maps.apk
Make sure you remount it as R/O when you're done!
Restart your G, Connect to Wifi, then launch Market.
Follow the standard Google Account setup procedure and enjoy your newly installed Market.
PROOF THAT IT WORKS (the guide might be broken at some point though, see explanation below): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dm2Kax8RQM
Someone please test this and let me know if you have any problems. Factory resetting doesn't delete any files I might have moved into the system folder so I might be missing something in this guide.
Feel free to donate to my beer fund if this helped you
Copying the following over from my thread over at Overclock.net (best computer enthusiast community, ever!)
Guides:
Setting Up ADB:
The ADB drivers do not recognize the Tegra hardware by default. You need to modify the USB inf file in order for it to recognize it and install the proper hardware.
Go to the usb_driver folder inside your Android SDK folder
Open up android_winusb.inf
Add the following under [Google.NTx86] and save (or if you prefer, download my pre-modified android_winusb.inf attached to the bottom of this post, and replace your existing android_winusb.inf with mine).
Code:
;NVIDIA Tegra
%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0955&PID_7000
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0955&PID_7100&MI_01
If you are running a 64 bit version of Windows, you need to add that code to the [Google.NTamd64] section as well.
Next, open a command prompt and type
Code:
echo 0x955 >> "%USERPROFILE%\.android\adb_usb.ini"
On your G, go to Settings -> Applications -> Development, and check "USB Debugging"
Plug in your USB cable, it will tell you that some drivers were not installed. That's okay! Point it to your usb_driver folder and it'll install the proper drivers.
Make sure ADB is working by opening a command prompt, navigating to your android sdk "tools" folder, and typing
Code:
adb devices
You should see a bunch of numbers if everything is set up correctly.

Rooting:
You need to have ADB fully working before proceeding. The easiest way to root is by using CLShortFuse's SuperOneClick. If you can spare the money, consider donating a buck or two to his beer fund
Connect your G and make sure USB debugging is enabled/ADB is working.
Extract the contents of SuperOneClickv1.5.2-ShortFuse.zip to a folder of your choice.
Run SuperOneClick.exe and click on Root. Wait for the process to finish, and you're rooted! Easy as pie.

Installing Launcher Pro/ADW:
It's actually really easy.
Download the Launcher Pro APK from here: http://www.launcherpro.com/apk/LauncherPro-0.8.1.1.apk
Connect your G and move the Launcher APK over to your Tablet's internal/external SD card.
Using whatever file manager you prefer (on your G), execute the Launcher Pro APK and install it.
Upon completion, hit the Home button and choose LauncherPro as your default launcher.
Reboot and feel the speed!

Wifi Fix:
If your Wifi "errors" upon enabling, try one of the following methods
Method 1:
Reboot. Seriously, it fixes the problem a large portion of the time.

Method 2:
Download Wefi from here: http://www.wefi.com/download/android/
Install the APK on your G.

Make sure Automatic Startup is checked. Click on "Wi-Fi on WeFi start" and choose "Always Turn On"
Restart your G and pray.

Method 3: Master Reset (you will lose all your apps)
Go to settings -> Security and do a Factory Wipe.
This works only SOMETIMES, but is not a guaranteed fix, so only use this as a last ditch resort

I will look into that. The most likely reason is the lack of a unique Android ID.
does the regular nullsoft winamp show up for you?
great work man. Just saw the video.
I'm still trying to get adb access. First thing I did was modded the usb files but not the 64bit cuz I didn't see it. Guess I didn't look hard enough. Modded the 32bit one and added the Nvidia tegra info. Then tried adb and the oneclickroot and it didn't work. I then went in and found the amd64 area and added the lines to that portion of the usb.ini file also.
I don't have adb working to root. I'm on Win 7 64bit. any idea's. Then I'll try your guide.

My files are in place, but the APK files are not "installing" on boot and the tablet sets up normaly and gmail app is not there. I have tried going back in and changing R/O in root explorer, but still not go.. what am I missing? Can these files be pushed to the tablet via adb or do you have to use root explorer? Seems I had the same problem when I did this with my Odroid T.. I tried root explorer but ended up pushing with adb.
Thanks for your work on this
hmmm... it says "install"... I need to launch them from explorer and actualy "install" them? then reboot?

You need to run each APK manually through Root Explorer (or any package installer of your choice). Placing them there does not do anything

I'm having the same issue Gunth so when you get it working let me know
Just finished up installing the apks. Got a problem though. Now my home and search buttons don't work. Also lost Airplane mode when powering off.
*EDIT* Just watched your video. I don't think that's a finicky button. I think this hack causes the problem.
*EDIT 2* Just did a reset. Home button and search work again. So, it's got to be the hack.

Hi all,
Love my HTC Desire so much i bought a Witstech A81E Android 2.2 Tablet. Which is pretty buggy to say the least though on the whole works well.
The one thing that is driving me crazy is a number of apps dont install with the logcat error:
"packagename.apk requires unavailable shared library com.google.android.maps"
Now from what i have read apparently this device does not come with Google Maps API so my question is how do i add it?
Can it be done? Do i need to modify a ROM to do it? can i push it via adb or apk?
A little help would be greatly appreciated.
It would need to have google apps installed to be able to access the libraries. Best bet is to find out if it has been rooted yet and try to install the proprietary applications they can't ship the device with.
appreciate the help mate. i've rooted the device though where can i find google maps api?
the unit already has google maps 5.0 installed but apparently doesnt have the API's.
Any idea what im looking for? will it be an APK or just some files i need to put in a system folder?
i think im over my head
additionally i have searched for any com.google.android.maps related data on my desire and have found the following:
/system/framework/com.google.android.maps.jar
/system/etc/permissions/com.google.android.maps.xml
/etc/permissions/com.google.android.maps.xml
/data/dalvik-cache/[email protected]@[email protected]
could it be as easy as copying this over to my tablet?
Ill try it out tonight.
If the application is installed correctly it should work because the api is stored in the data. Is the application on the tablet installed to the /system/ or /data/ partition. It might be looking for the data in /system/
not sure what you mean about where the application resides? you mean the app i am trying to install? The app i am trying to install is Tasker.
i have been doing some googling and saw someone else have the same problem and he managed to fix it:
When trying to install some apps, I would see this error message in logcat:
requires unavailable shared library com.google.android.maps
I had the Google Maps app installed and working, but that didn’t fix the issue. It turns out, I had to add two other files and restart the phone. I found those files in the google zip from Cyanogenmod. It took a little fiddling, but I was able to use these instructions to remount /system in write mode. First step was to take the following two files from the google apps zip (gapps-hdpi-20101114-signed.zip) and put them onto my sd card.
/system/etc/permissions/com.google.android.maps.xml
/system/framework/com.google.android.maps.jar
Then to load them onto the phone, I opened the terminal emulator and ran:
su
mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
cp /mnt/sdcard/com.google.android.maps.xml /system/etc/permissions/
cp /mnt/sdcard/com.google.android.maps.jar /system/framework/
Then after I rebooted the phone, I was able to install apps that depend on Google Maps. I can now check bus and train times, and do all kinds of other cool stuff with maps!

oh well back to random googling for me.
Well did you try using terminal emulator? And do what he did? B/c that looks like a remount to system to me easy as pie just do what he did you can find the files with root explorer or do it on your pc doesnt really matter. You can Not achieve what he did just using root explorer you need terminal emulator!

I don't know how much it will help (or if its 100 percent true) but I was just told recently that moving a file via root explorer is the same as pushing it via adb.

I take it i can get a terminal emulator that runs on the device itself yeah?

If that fails i am going to try my first attempt at cooking a ROM
Appreciate all the help!
no more love for Sage?
i dont know why its so hard..
I did try to cook the original ROM though unyaffs couldnt extract the img.
looks like i might have to boot up a Virtual nix box.. damn this is so much harder than it should be.
So, I wanted to delete my google account in the first place. I found this tutorial with video. It says:
Basically this was done on a rooted phone. We used the program called Root Explorer and navigated to /system/framework. Make sure that is mounted r/w and not r/o (read write vs read only). Rename framework-res.apk > framework-res.apk.bak. You might get an error after this (force close). Just go ahead and force close it. Immediately rename it back to framework-res.apk. Reboot and you're done. Enter your new main Google account.

I rooted the phone using the Galaxy S II Root Guide on this forum. I put the XWKDD_insecure.tar on my phone, succesfully. After reboot i rooted the the phone using SuperOneClick. Everything went fine, it asked me if i wanted BusyBox > clicked 'Yes'.
I rebooted my phone, left it in USB Debugging (you never know what happens). I launched the application Root Explorer (v2.14.2) > some message asked me if i allowed the app acces to my root > clicked yes.
So, Root Explorer launched, i navigated to /system/framework and clicked "mount R/W" (read/write). I renamed framework-res.apk to framework-res.apk.bak. TROUBLE STARTS HERE
All kind of processes started to crash and asked me to do forced close the tutorial says this can happen, so i force closed. But the errors kept popping up, and i kept clicking force close. In the end there were 3(i guess) processes which continiously kept crashing one-after-another.
The proces system crashed also, so the creen was black. I was able to slide the top bar (system tray?), the icon of my advanced task killer was there so I tried to launch that but it crashed too. So I gave up, and long pressed the powerbutton.
Big trouble
I tried to reboot, the samsung galaxy s II launch image appeared. That's it.. nothing left. After a lovely cursing-session i put on the KE2 original kernel. (again, just like the root guide says) Rebooted but it's still stuck at the launch image.
Kernel version:
2.6.35.7-I910XWKE2-CL187606

Just go into download mode and flash again with whatever rom you want (FULL ROM not just kernel). Should be fine I would think as /system is not essential (well, for to use it as a phone/pda yes) but not for flashing again. Should be fine then.
Although i'm new to the flashing stuff, i understand what you mean. I'm going to find a full rom and download it to my phone, and be back asap
Thanks already!

I too did rename framework-res.apk and bricked my Kindle fire; need help
I too did the same dumb thing.
I already rooted my kindle fire, downloaded android market I loggedin using a google account. After that I was unable to change the google account. Browsed web and I saw the post of the video. I followed the instructions in the video.
steps followed: using root explorer, went to /system/framework and renamed framework-res.apk and and after I completed the renaming, the device crashed (or I clicked something; hence crashed?) and stuck in blank carrousel page.
So, I rebooted and all I get now if boot logo of 'Kindle fire'. It doesnt go any forward.
I connected to PC and I am able to see the device in ADB. But no root access in shell. So, any adb command I give I get back errors like: no permission; read-only folder, etc.
When I use the Kindle fire utility v0.9.3 and try to do temp root or root, I get
Error type 2 android.util.AndroidException: Can't connect to activity manager; is the system running?
adbd cannot run as root in production builds
PC detects the device as 'Android Composite ADB interface'. But cant do anything in adb. I can push files to /data/local/tmp folder. Thats about it.
when I do
adb shell mv /system/framework/framework-res.apk.bak /system/framework/framework-res.apk
I get:
failed on '/system/framework/framework-res.apk.bak' - Read-only file system
Can someone help rename this file back to original framework-res.apk?
Thank you very much;
Hi All,
I set out to flash my tablet back to stock with the goal of copying some of the awesome asus-specific widgets and applications and installing them back on my tablet after I re-rooted/modded it. I accomplished part of this goal by finding some of the .apk's I wanted, like the Asus weather & battery widgets, the Supernote.apk, anda few others (I still wasn't able to find the Swype Keyboard.apk file)
Anywho, I tried to install the .apk's on my tablet after re-installing cm9 and rooting it but it just says "Application not installed". Anyone have any ideas? And can anyone elaborate on how to copy that swype keyboard APK that I desperately want? I found the other .apk's in the /system/app folder but swype wasn't there.
My other questions relate to CM9:
1) is there any way to decrease the boot time for CM9, or at least customize the boot screen?
2) I'm currently running an older version of cm9 (rc0 unofficial) and I have the stable rc1 of cm9 but when i tried to flash it, it didn't work (i can get the exact error message if needed). Did I do something wrong in updating or is RC1 not compatible with the device? Should I just wait till CM10 comes out?
3) When I initially rooted/flashed cm9, I was able to connect my tablet to my computer and the root of the / directory, but after flashing stock and trying again, I don't have the same luck. Is there some step I missed?
I appreciate any responses, thanks.

I haven't tried this, but it may work. If you have ADB on your computer, try doing an adb push [name of file].apk /system/app/
If you can't do that, try copy/pasting them there using a root explorer on your device itself. Make sure the permissions are set properly (I don't remember what they are off the top of my head).
After doing that, reboot. See if it works.
As for your CM Questions:
1) I'm not sure if you can reduce the time. For customizing the animation, look at something like Rom Toolbox Pro (which also includes a root explorer like I mentioned above).
2) All CM9 TF300T downloads are located here: http://get.cm/?device=tf300t RC1 is listed there so I'm assuming you did something wrong (what's the error you get?)
3) Did you re-root? I'm not sure I understand.

I apologize for the vagueness of my original post. I made this thread in anticipation of flashing everything back to stock, trying to copy over those Asus-specific .apk's (which I managed to do), and then re-rooting/re-flashing CM9.
I flashed the .30 firmware to get back to stock and found the Asus widgets & apk's I was looking for in the /system/app directory. After some bootloops and other fun, I was able to flash back to CM9 and when I tried to install the .apk's I immediately get the message "The Application was not installed"
Of the asus items I wanted, Supernote and Polaris Office were my top two picks, and I was able to acquire Supernote through 3-rd party means and install it. So I'm stoked to have Supernote on a CM9-flashed tablet. I wasn't able to find Polaris Office so I hope to at least be able to find a work-around to install that.
In response to #3 - yes I re-rooted my tablet (lost root with the .30 firmware) and previously I was able to browse the root directory of my tablet while it was connected to my computer. Now, I can only browse the SD card. I still haven't figured out a solution to this, but I just transfer files to my memory card and then to my tablet from there. I'm looking into how to do OTA file transfers via bluetooth or wi-fi, if at all possible.

So did you try what I suggested in my post (pushing the files to /system/app on your tablet, rather than trying to install them through File Browser or whatever)?
I'm not sure if they rely on any custom Asus framework stuffs, like with many other OEMs. I personally doubt it because Asus barely changes anything. I think it *should* work, but can't guarantee it.
The easiest way to get the files to /system/app (if you're not very ADB or tech. savvy) is to download a root explorer (like Rom Toolbox Pro has, for example) and copy all the .apks that you want from your sdcard to /system/app.

I haven't tried pushing the files via ADB yet. I just wiped out my computer so I need to re-install the drivers to get the tablet recognized and/or the the Android SDK.
In the 3rd point of your point, do you mean my external SD card or the internal memory?
the Transformer Pad has a good portion of internal memory partitioned as an sdcard and mounts it at /sdcard/. I haven't used an external SD card with my tablet yet. Either one should work.
I also found out that Polaris Office has some library files that you probably should grab as well. You can find them at:
/system/lib/libpolarisoffice_tablet.so
/system/lib/libpolarisofficedump.so
/system/lib/libtfapps-polaris.so
/system/lib/libtflua-polaris.so

There might be some library files for the other apps. You might want to look around in the /system/lib folder for other libraries as well.

That's awesome, thanks. If I'm able to get this working I will post a guide for others to follow. I ended up just signing up for the swype beta (which I think is stupid since I paid for that app when I bought my tablet, shouldn't have to get a reduced version)
I was able to find a working supernote.apk app on a 3rd-party website and it installed and worked perfectly.
My other issue I'm having is I try to push the files with ADB and it tells me my tablet is read-only? it gives that same message no matter which directory I try to push to. I have the superuser app and have root, but superusers' log shows the 'adb shell' is consistently being denied root permission (if i try to do su or something similar). Any thoughts?

You need to remount your system as read-write. Trying doing an adb remount. If that doesn't work, try typing the following into a terminal emulator:
su
busybox mount -o remount,rw /system

Try ADB pushing again after that.
if you are able to install the apps by adb push. then maybe a .zip file can be created and use CWM to install all the stock apps.

Well part of the issue is that I can't "su" while in adb shell. It says permission denied. When I type ADB devices normally, it'll list my device. But when I'm in "adb shell" it doesn't show anything. "adb remount" gives me the message "error: device not found".
Any other suggestions?

That's weird. I've never seen that before. Are you certain that your adb drivers are installed properly? You can always use a terminal emulator on your device itself to remount the system as read/write and then use adb afterwards.

I'm pretty sure my drivers are installed correctly. Everything shows up in device manager, "adb devices" lists my device, fastboot flashes files just fine, so yea.
And yea I have the terminal emulator on my tablet and I've used it before for some stuff (installing Ubuntu) so I will try the steps you guys have mentioned. I'm in the process of trying out some other ROM's right now (Hydro atm, and then probably CleanROM) so once I go back to stock and have access to the appropriate files I'll try these steps.
