German T-mobile phone need to change to English

I live in Germany but have very basic kowledge of the German language. So when I recently received the new Xperia Xi from T-mobile (under contract), I was shocked to find out that I could not change to English language. Both T-Mobile and SE do not want to help. Incredible. I was browsing the internet for some solution and encountered this forum. I saw some threads on the subject, and the solution seems to change some ROM thing (yeah, I have no idea!). However read some desperate messages s.a. phone got jammed etc. Any way got cofused and could not follow. So I have made this new thread JUST FOR GERMAN T-MOBILE. Can some kind member kindly lists down step by step instructions (with files, or links to files) on how the beat the system and change the language from German to English? Thanks help!

Ok....the only solution i know is to wait for an update.....they want to release it this year...if u download the upgrade manager u can select the language for the update maybe u get an english rom if u select that language...

Thanks reply. Yes its in German and want to change it to English. Your solution makes sense but I read somewhere that the English update would not work as the ROM has to be changed to English first. So not sure.

Searching for HTC Touch2 WM6.5 Arabic ROM

Hello Everybody,
I would like to change the current system of my HTC Touch2 - Mega from EN to ARABIC, but i can't download the related rom update :
HTC Touch2 WM6.5 Arabic ROM (GCC and Egypt)
- NOT AUTHORIZED FOR NEW USERS -
(Search google, and get it by the first item!)
because of the serial number incompatibility (quite normal according to HTC support!)
Could someone in this forum give me some clues or links to download this file from another location please ?
I did'nt found any information about this rom in xda forums, although the rom exists (official link of HTC middle east!)

Did you try Google? And if you find it you cant put it on your phone without HSPL, just to let you know before you kill you phone.

Of course already tried google seach, but found nothing valid !
No HSPL is needed for all official HTC ROM upgrade, i have already upgraded successfully my device from GER --> ENG, and now i need an ARABIC one, the official one that i cannot download from official HTC middle east web site because of serial number problem (bought my device in germany!)
Please if anyone can help me !

I managed to download the Arabic ROM, and I chose the locale Saudi Arabia as it is the only one available for Arabic. But I still cannot read or write Arabic!

Well, and did you succeed in downloading the arabic version ?
If yes, could you upload it on rapidshare/megaupload ?
In fact, it is only a serial number problem, because my device's one is a german one, i cannot download it, what about yours ? is it a middle east original one ?
Something helpful, can be to give here an arabic device serial number in order to be able to download it from HTC official site and then put it here as a link for xda dev forum users !

That's not an arabic one ?...
Why did you post this one in this thread, this is not an arabic rom ?

goto htc, select middle east as country. goto support then downloads. there's a rom there. download, install. goto value added in your pda start menu. install the Arabic service and enjoy.

Unfortunately not so easy, u need a valid arabic serial number to dl it !...
That's why i am searching for this one also...

weird. whats the story behind it? care to explain? got from some other country or what? and now you need to get Arabic in it?
Here, was messing around with my s/n. made this up and worked. 'HT9a4p103340'. (again remember its not mine, who knows who owns it not that it matters eh).

Does Android/Galaxy S show Middle East languages?

Hey,
Galaxy S will be going to be my first Andorid phone so I was wondering if Android/GalaxyS support Middle East languages?
On my Windows Mobile phone I had to install an app to see the characters or else there would be all squares and etc.
Is there something similar in Android?

What if I buy it from Europe? Is there a program to install so I can see Arabic/Hebrew font?
If it gets rooted, will I be able to install fonts or something?

The question is:
Is the version of europe a universal version that contain all the launguges of the countries which will have the phone???
If yes, that will be great.

I'm a newbie to use samsung device.
In the language setting, it only have the English, Chinese and Korean can be choose for display !! (I mean the interface, NOT input !! )
How can get the rest of the language of the interface ?? (e.g. Japanese or Spanish )

I think this is ROM specific what is your Build number?

This is a ROM specific... in my case my Note came with only English on it.. and I needed the Arabic support.. so I flashed the JPKJ3 build to get Arabic support.. you need to do the same for whatever language you need

will it be void the warranty ??
and how can I confirm the rom contain the language which I wish to have ??

Flashing an official Samsung version would not void warranty as far as I know. I don't know which ROM contains what languages. There is 3 available in this forum now I think, check them out.

[Q] How to add another language?

Hi everyone.
A friend mine bought SM-T230NU in Usa, but unlikely another devices that i had see, this doesn't came with Brazilian Portuguese (pt-BR).
The version is ANE2. Does exists another compilation with more languages?
If not, what another way can i to add this?

I´m writing in English, may be to help others, I bought almost 2 years ago an Galaxy S3 International version, but the seller
send to me a wrong one SGH-T999(T-Mobile), my sister brought to me, so, to send back here in Brazil was too difficult, and I
I´m still using this phone.
What I did, for first I Root the phone and use morelocale2, and try to use hidden language, but I didn't´t find any Portuguese language(I was using a stockroom already rooted from Dr. Hollyday).
But, I forced using "Custom Locale" feature(Morelocale2), and put at Language "pt"(ISO0639) and at Country "BR"(ISO3166), this means all applications ho check the setup language and has Portuguese Language, voilá, works in Portuguese, for example Google Maps, Agenda, etc..
But, after some time more cooked stockroom come up, and my latest one have already an Portuguese-Portugal language, and I´m using almost everything in Portuguese.
Right now I have another needs, my mom bought to her a Galaxy Tab P4 8", and she ask me to help her to put Portuguese Language, what I´m thinking to do is Root the device, and try to find a Hidden Portuguese using morelocale2 or Language Enabler.

I believe there's no diference on hardware, only software, all things related to regional stuff, likes language, apps, money, etc...
I will try to find out, did you check SAMMOBILE ?

I saw that Brazilian version SM-T230NT have TV....so, the hardware isn't the same.
I downloaded some versions of rom to t230 and t230NU....but all fail when try to put.
I can't downgrade to older version...
Do Morelocale 2 changes system menu to portuguese too?
