Downloading now! Thanks for the link!

Doesn't support flash.
Edit: Used it for about 10 minutes before uninstalled. It's clearly pre-alpha build stuff, buggy and slow with no features.

Very slow.
At first I was impressed with how smoothly it handled scrolling while the web page was still loading(according to the progress bar). But then I realized that was because it didn't seem to be loading the entire page, just what I was currently looking at and a few lines down. So if you quickly swiped up or down, you'd just hit blank white and then the Browser would scramble to catch up. if you swiped back down to where you were, it would be white as well.
Uninstalled and I'm sticking with Dolphin Browser Mini for the time being.

Yea this is getting very buggy.
They update it nightly so let's hope it gets better since Google for some reason doesn't wanna implement it into the stock browser smh :/

It'll probably be in the version that hits the Market later this month. Fingers crossed.

Someone should port the XXJPU browser that Samsung modified. That browser was very fast

I love the idea and speed of Dolphin Browser Mini but I just hate how they took away system controls (such as the checkbox of "Enable Location")
Sticking with regular (non HD) Dolphin I guess...

I've found that Dolphin Mini actually imports alot of settings from the default Browser, such as Flash Player being Ondemand or not. I think Location Services is completely disabled in it, though.

Man that Samsung GPU Acceleration browser is SEXY!!!

jaggy browser experience?

So I was really looking forward to getting a galaxy tab, primarily for web browsing. Then I saw this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZvCXMARtl0
What is the deal with the stuttering jaggy web browsing experience? Can someone that has a tab let me know if a third party browser can make browsing a little less, bleh?
The Galaxy Tab has Flash running in on the webpage.
Look at 0:08 on the video, you can see on the iPad that there are two bars marked "FLASH" disabled. It's suppose to have the banner for "HTC" on it.
Yeah, flash is SERIOUSLY CPU heavy. In fact that's how apple justifies not using it on any of its mobile devices. On closer inspection, there's more than just two 'FLASH' bars on the iPad, I count at least 4.
If you want it to good THAT fast then turn flash off.
On the other hand, do you look at websites by pinging back and forth on them so fast you can't read the text ? Personally, I scroll slowly down, and only move quickly infrequently when I want to 'go to top' or 'go to bottom'. If you actually read websites, the video doesn't really show off a whole lot. Its not comparing like with like, and its not comparing a real life situation, so it doesn't matter.
I have the tab. Some sites with flash will run just fine.
Others will simply cause the browser to be unusable. I have no explanation to this.
I compare a site that is unusable on the tab with my Droid x and on the droidx the site runs just fine with flash enabled.
Maybe. This is a software issue which is unrelated to flash and can be fixed in a future firmware update.

Quote possibly. Samsung have been slow to release Froyo for the galaxy, so maybe the flash thing isn't just the Tab, its the architecture. Maybe they can't get the hummingbird GFX to accelerate properly.
I have a Tab since 1 week and yes...the browsing experience is really awful. it's a pain...it's slow in loading pages and VERY jaggy in scrolling.
If I think that it should be one of the best features on the Tab I'm very sad and I really hope that it will be fixed (ad least improved) soon in future releases!
By now I just can't leave my ipad for internet browsing.
It looks like both the SGS and the Tab are suffering from the same issue with the browser.
Samsung will have no choice but to fix this.
Dolphin and Opera
Yes browsing with stock browser is really slow and jaggy. I've installed Opera mini and Dolphin. I use Opera for casual browsing (ie xda) and it's really smooth. When I need flash, or for "difficult sites" or if I have to download with rapidhare etc I use Dolphin (which is almost smooth).
Thank you all for your honest opinions.

Dolphin uses the same core lib as the stock browser so it should run the same as stock in terms of speed.

Didnt know. In practice it's really smoother though!
The webkit browser has a really annoying renderer in general. I dont understand why it needs to lower picture quality whenever you move the image around.
Just look at the way opera mini does it - much faster and better looking! Sadly its buggy and lacking in features, which is why im still using webkit.
Dolphin HD is slightly better (if only because it semi-blocks flash content by default), but it has some annoying ui elements like the giant tab bar, which can be removed but at the cost of being able to click on objects along the top edge of the display.
Ive also tried the ARM7 version of the mozilla fennec nighly builds. It just force closed on me, not even a little looksee
For me Dolphin HD is much smoother beside the fact it doesn't show flash banners where stock one does.
Both of them have been a disappointment WRT flash support.
It isn't that great for sites i visit.
If I open a new tap, I need to zoom in and out to get a picture
is this normal?
No, mine loads fine immediatley.

Dolphin Browser Mini

If you have not checked out this browser you might want to. It runs great on my tab. It's really smooth and even makes the xda website not as laggy. I think it might be what i use from now on...at least till I find something better, but best I found so far.
I've been checking it out as well and after five minutes I made it my default browser. I think it's awesome and runs better for me than any other browser I've tried.
opera 10.1 beta is the best with no lag but has no flash support
What's the difference between this and dolphin hd?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
Ive been using this browser for the last day, and all Ive gotta say is WOW! Lag? What lag? It just runs so damn smooth. Much love for this browser so far.
i will say again opera is much faster and lag free

I think you'll find that most of us have already tried Opera - it's good and fast, but IMO Dolphin Mini is just as fast and supports flash.
I'll only revisit the non-Webkit browsers (i.e. Firefox and Opera) once they support flash.
Regards,
Dave
Miren browser has been my default for a couple of weeks now. It is also very smooth and without lag. Are you running stock firmware?

The above was written as part of an attempt to waste time using a Galaxy Tab,
Rush exMachina
Didn't really see much of a speed difference between Dolphin Mini and Miren, so I'm sticking with Miren for now.
Try this edited version of Miren Browser
Has anyone figured out a way to import Dolphin Mini's bookmarks into Miren?
It seems Dolphin backs up its bookmarks to a proprietary format only for Dolphin.
I want to start using Miren, but don't want to manually enter 60+ bookmarks.
Maxthon is my current browser. It seems that Dolphin Mini in my tab is having problems to close, well, its tabs. O_O

I mean, if you open Dolphin Mini and try to click the "x" mark to close the tab, it won't close.
For your question, I am not sure if you can. For the HD, you can download the, "Bookmarks to SD" add-on.
I'm glad I read this. I had tried dolphin HD and didn't care for it.Mini does run great on my tab though. Thanks

Same problem for me, also when you click in the address bar to type, you have to manually delete the address that's there to type something in. Wish it was highlighted so when you start to type it clears it. It's nice and fast though. I'm going to try the Miren browser nowas well.

Can someone answer this please?
Miren didn't work out for me. Downlading from Mediafire, rapidshare...etc sites do not work. It always downloaded an html page. Guessing it doesn't handle redirects correctly?
Ive tried every single browser in the market on my tab. To be honest, I prefer HD to mini. Dolphin Mini is a light version of dolphin without all the extra bloats. it takes less space on your card but the ram usage during use didnt really make that much of a difference. I noticed maybe 3-5mb difference in usage

You running ICS on your phone?
Used it on OG Transformer with paulburton's ICS ROM. The browser is pretty smooth, and looks just like the pc chrome browser.
I don't have enough posts to link to the file, but it should be pretty easy to find the apk by now.
i tried it on Sensation
its pretty sweet
we need ICS for TF101 now!
Does Chrome for Android have all the same security and privacy issues that Chrome for desktop has?
If it does, i'm sticking with Opera.
Google and Adobe won't support flash for Chrome on Android
Which is either good or bad depending on you.
I use Flash for live video so I don't like this decision. It's a good option to have, you can always opt to not install it

I love Chrome browser . I've being waiting for this since... well since Android 1st came out
But i'm going to wait for the official ICS for the TF101 before i try it.
I just hope that is not a RAM devourer app
Works great on my Rezound with 4.0.1! This browser is sweet! I would totally dump the stock browser for this anyday, but I kinda wished they kept the darker gray theme rather than going back to light gray..
The tabs sharing with the desktop Chrome is F-ing Awesome! Like what Chrome2Phone should have been all along!
No Flash in Chrome for now. Adobe say they won't support it but hopefully Google will adapt it later.

Where be the tab stack? Do we lose that, another Tablet sacrifice?
Fairly stable for me. The only crash I had was with something like 7-8 tabs open (all XDA Prime forums, plus a few chrome blogs, LOL! I like it. A LOT! And typically I am hard to please, especially where browsers are concerned. There are way to many Android browsers out there that are acceptable, but not outstanding. Each has their own little tweaks and claim to fame, but under the hood they are ridiculousy similar. Let's see, I have had on my Prime, at one point or another:
Stock. - Works well. So well it bores me, LOL
ICS+ - A nice set of enhancements. I use it more than the stock webkit browser
Dolphin and Dolphin HD - I like, don't love it. A bit TOO slick, and some things frustrate me. It will be better when the HD catches up to the small screen version, I think
Opera Mini and Opera Mobile - What can I say. 2 solid browsers here. Mobile is a keeper. [
boat browser - Not imopressed, other than speed, it was buggy. removed.
Skyfire - I LOVED this one on my phone in early releases it was amazing. When Skyfire decided t charge me to see flash, I decided to cut them lose. Too many alternatives. It's not THAT great.
Firefox - a HUGE let down, but everyone expected magic here. Didn't materialize.
Maxthon. Very cool new browser.Jury still out on this one.
That's right off the top of my head.
Anyone know how to make the tab "Stack" appear in chrome, or is that only in the phone version, because we have the real estate to see the tabs. If so I am disappointed. That was chromes one big trick pony, and I was excited to try it. So far I can't see the button in top left to enable them, just a new tab button. Anyone?

But the screen shot looks great... specifically the tab management
The people with galaxy Nexus can run the chrome web broswer with nearly any problem.
But I am running with Andy ICS room and chrome is very weird.
A lot of little jumps or shakings when sliding or zooming the webs. and sometimes it freezes or closes when displaying the multiple tabs.
Any way my room is beta, and also the Chrome web browser, but sure it will be my default web browser soon... it could be amazing...
ive been hearing this is running nice on custom ics roms

Yes, it looks nice, and it's fast also. Go ahead and install it, no harm in trying. It just freezes too often to use it on a regular basis.
On the SGS2 I had freezes only when 'force gpu acceleration' was enabled....
tried it both with this rom (bezke LPB http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1393569) and this rom (wanam LPB http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436817) and it's exactly what i wished for in a mobile browser! it's just a pity that it crashes very often on both roms. i'm sure they'll figure it out until it's out of beta i'm anticipating a release

I just hope one day get rid about this CPU eater FLASH!
just trying out opera now, I'm quite surprised. Last time I tried it images on sites wouldn't load for me and it kept opening mobile versions of sites. Granted it was at least 6 months ago that I tried it last but it seems to have improved a lot.
