[Q] Cyanogen Mod Lockscreen problem?(SSOD) - Wildfire General

hey everyone!
i recentley flashed the new cyanogen.. the stable 6.1.0..
now whenever i press the power button to lock my phone, for a second the screen brightness changes to lower. and then locks.
but if i want to unlock it quite quickly (within 5 seconds) of locking my phone, this weird white fuzz screen flashes for like 1.5 seconds and then goes to lock screen..
is anyone else having this problem? anyway to fix it?

i get this too. i think if you turn off the animations, that stops the dimming. im not sure about the weird fuzzy stuff though. to be honest, it's never bothered me that much

if you find a way to get past the SSOD (snowy screen of death) , please post it here

Phone Turning Off When Closing

Whenever I close my screen with a bit of speed, it just turns off. I was wondering if anybody else ever had this problem?

Not 100% sure I know what you mean - how do you close the screen? - on/off button??
Mike
i had this problem when i first got the phone, but turns out i wasnt used to the button configuration after coming from the wizard and was hitting the power button....
Well I have had the phone for many months now and I have Black Dymond on it, so I am not the average user
After playing with it some more, I figured out that if the screen is slided to its normal position (closed), and if I squeeze the screen closed more (making sure im not hitting any buttons), it turns off!
I guess my phone is just getting old

CHT unlock screen lag

I'm using the CHT unlock screen. Whenever I press a button to bring up the unlock screen when the phone is lock, it shows the home screen briefly, then brings up the lock screen. Anyone know how to get rid of this lag?
this is something that you should post in cookies home tab thread instead of starting a pointless new thread which just dirties the forum.
As far as i know, there isn't a current fix for it, but it might be fixed in the next release

If you notice it only does it once. It's not really lag. I think it's just loading. I'm pretty sure the stock one does the same thing from what I remember.
Lock the phone, then hit a button to wake it up. You'll notice that it flashes the home screen then goes to the lock screen. Without unlocking it, hit the end call button again to put back to sleep. then hit it again and you'll notice it's already on the lock screen.
So I'm not really sure if this is an issue or not, but if you want to feel better, just make it part of you locking process to lock it, then wake it up, then hit the lock button again. then when you wake it up the next time to unlock it, it will be loaded and not show you the "lag" you were experiencing before.
Also I'd like to add that CHT is totally awesome. It really makes this phone the best of the best.

it doesn't only do it once, it is a lag, and the stock one doesn't do the same thing. also, waking up, locking, then waking up again to avoid seeing the lock screen right away is a bit cumbersome, don't you think? hopefully this gets fixed, i've had to restart my phone because of forgetting to wait for this lag and freezing the phone.

I guess if it bothers you that much, disable it for now and use the stock lock screen?
I still don't think it's lag since on mine if I hit the end call button once to lock it. Then hit it again to bring it back up, it only does it that time. Any time after that it's immediately on the lock screen. If it was lag it would do it every single time you woke it up right?
I guess if this weren't totally free I might care?
Mine does it also ... but frankly since Cht hmade me fall inlove with my phone all over again its not such a big deal.
cant complain when its free.

Maybe your buttons are always off because you have it disabled in settings...Go to Settings/Display and wallpaper/Touch key light duration and set it to whatever time you like...

Well then I don't see a problem here...unless your capacitive buttons turn on even though you set them to "Always off" ? The lock screen lag is there, but it isn't that noticeable to me.Sometimes it is, but rarely...
Our you referring to the faint flicker of the captivate buttons even with the setting off,I turned mine off but can see a faint flicker when waking phone up.
I take it no one else has this issue?
@alexowen @Raver27 @Ashatar I have same problem guys, captivate button flickers even when it is turned off when I wake my phone and second problem on LP is lockscreen lag which irritates me, when I lock screen first brightness goes down and then screen turnes off, this is hardware problem not software
I like the capacitive button lights, like it so much i set the time for: 6seconds before dimming. Tho i can understand if it flickers on n off instead of just an on, i would want it off too. The lag on the lockscreen must be like 2-3 seconds? i dont have ir on mine. It's like 1 seconds, which is nothing.

Lock Screen won't turn off

Hi there. I'm currently having an issue with my S7 edge where the lock screen won't turn off after some time. The screen does turn off when I'm using the phone normally from the main screen after some time passes but it's just the lock screen I have issues with.
Whenever I charge my phone or just hit the power button once to see notifications on the lock screen, it'll just stay like that until the same time the main screen timeout configured time passes (5 minutes) and this is getting annoying and somewhat draining a little bit more of my battery. Previously it was working fine and the lock screen would turn off after around 10 seconds or so.
Has anyone faced any similar issues with their phones? I haven't tried a factory reset yet but I'd want that to be a last resort.
Clear Background apps.
It happens when you left some games or apps by pressing home button but it keeps running. Hope they will fix this soon.
Have you tried pressing that little button on the right side of the phone? That usually helps.
Yeah...I already tried that with no luck. Even tried uninstalling some recent apps in case one of them was cause but it didn't work either. Any other suggestions?
The issue isn't with turning the phone screen off by pressing the power button, it's the lock screen itself not turning off after a few seconds when it usually does.
I'm having the same problem, had good lock installed thought that may have been the problem but after uninstalling that I'm still having the same problem with samsungs oem lock screen. I too would like an answer or fix for this. also to note, in developer options the stay awake is off and no apps running in the background.
I am having this problem now also. The screen will lock, but the display stays on but dimmed. I can tap the screen and it will get bright. Now I must click the side button every time I set my phone down or the screen will drain the battery.
I'm facing exactly the same issue. When the screen is locked, it stays on for the same time confirmed to when its unlocked. For example, 1 minute, instead of 10-15 seconds.
Any workaround discovered for this?
Did anyone find a solution to this problem?
I thought that I might've been the only one! This problem only appeared on my phone after the Nougat update, and it's extremely annoying as I rely on notifications waking the screen for my main messaging app.

Hello, I am having the same issue in my Redmi note 11 pro plus Phone. In my case The screen will lock but display stays on with dimmed light. Usually it is not visible during day, but in dark room its visible. And it stays the same way whole night. And battery is fully drained and phone is turned off. Is there a solution for this??

Lockscreen acting stupid

Yo,
yesterday I dropped my GS7E, it wasn't much of a high but the ground was pretty hard. My hardglass screen protector shattered a little but not really much, just the bottom corners of the screen protector got hurt.
Since then, my phone is not waking the screen up the first time I press the power button to unlock the phone. It its waking up but the screen stays black, I can unlock it by fingerprint while the screen is black and even take photos or open any app. I also feel the vibration.
So to fix it and actually get into the phone with screen on I have to lock and unlock it again. If I lock the phone after using it normally, it would work the normal way after unlocking it right again. But if I waited some time and I try unlocking, the screen would just stay black for the first attempt of unlocking.
Isnt that weird? xD
Just wanted to share that and maybe someone even got a permanent fix for that
What happens if you turn it on with the home button instead of the power button?
It wakes up the screen like it would normally do, but the first time I presss it, the screen stays black and I have to lock it again and then I can wake up the screen with home button.
Forgot to mention that.
Probably no solution to that I guess?
If I were u I reflash the firmware. Dont know if that fix it but i would give a try, u got nothing to loose
