[Q] Help needed - Flipout and Charm General

I, im evaluating a flipout
Just 3 question, very basic...
1- is the 2.1 upgradable?
2 - battery life is good?
3- Photo quality are really as whorst as in the various rewiev?
Thanks

There is no current upgrade available yet for the flipout to take it to froyo or beyond. Not that it is not possible.. but it hasn't been done yet.
Battery life has been very good for me.. with moderate internet use and moderate talking, it lasts 1.5-2 days for me. My old smartphone barely lasted 1 day
The photo quality is OK if there is plenty of ambient light.
The other problem I noticed is due to the fixed focus. It cannot focus on any bar codes. So, I cannot use any bar code scanners with the camera.

Agree with mrokkam on all 3 points.
One thing about the bar codes, if its a qr code in your browser, you can zoom it and it will work, besides that, havent been able to use it.

my mind changed towards GS2 pls help

i was thinking of getting the sensation but after many complaints of users from the same problems that is going to annoy me like touch screen unresponsive - lag - lock screen problems - bad software by htc
so i m now thinking to get the SG2
but i need the phone for the following reasons :-
1- fast speed and fast performance "no lag at all"
2- games play well on it
3- average battery life
4- good camera
5- sound quality
6- optimized stock software "very important"
and after a small tour in sg2 forums i found some issues people annoyed from it and it is not easy to be ignored
1- many talks about battery issue while some has good battery life and it has resolved ??? Q
2- pink spot on camera ..... does it appear while taking the photo in camera app only or in the taken photo or recorded video ???
3- i was surprised when i saw a complaint of some lag in games ???
4- a small lag for 2 sec after moving the immage of unlocking screen ??
these are 4 issues i want to be sure about and then i can get the phone
Im on my second SGS2 since the first was stolen after 3 weeks.. all i can say this phone is the best smartphone that exists. However only an idiot would go with touchwiz. That **** is so outdated and ugly, i almost puked when i first got the phone.
Here is what you need to go through if you want to make SGS2 the most awesome phone there is (takes about 20 mins and no rooting is required):
-install GO launcher
-install HD live wallpaper for GO launcher
-install GO SMS
-install GO contacts
-install Widgetlocker
-tweak GO launcher to look how you like
There is absolutely no lag, but there was some with touchwiz since the phone comes loaded with 100 widgets on and Touch**** is very unoptimized still.
All of the above apps are free and updated very very frequently
Games play very well on it (lol it has power like no other).
Camera is very good, not the best, but one of the best in the android world.
Sound is better than good although not the best but almost.
Like i said, i had one for 3 weeks, it got stolen and i bought a new one straight away. Didn't even consider anything else. Nothing comes close to SGS2!
Edit * overall it's the best phone. Nokia might have better cameras but the software is laughable. IOS is stupidly closed and you can't make it really work how you want (customization). SGS2 is the best of Android phones by far!
Hi, you are always always going to find problems with which ever phone you go with, sometimes to you can do too much research. This phone is bloody fantastic, I love everything about it. It kicks the crap out of pretty much everything I thow at it, videos, games apps. Battery life isnt fantastic but what to you expect for a dual core CPU running a 1.2 gig, this is laptop territory.
Most vendors will give you a week, to two week grace on your purchase, get it try it, thats by far the best option.
I came from a HD2, wasn't sure how much of an upgrade it was going to be, I also thought I'd miss the sheer number of ROMS available on the HD2. This phone is in a different league to most other on the market and there are now loads of cooked ROMS to choose from. Got mine Free for £25/month, haven't looked back.

and so what about battery issue ??? with moderate and heavy use how long does it works ??
and pink spot ..... this spot appear on the recorded video or taken pic ???
There is no pink spot. There was no pink spot on the first SGS2 and not on this second one either. If there is you can take it back and demand a new one immediately.
The battery of my first one lasted maximum of 2 days and some hours.. i can't remember exactly. The second one lasted the same until yesterday when i installed some apps that made something go wrong and it only lasted 5 hours and that was on the night when i didnt even touch the phone. I think some process was left running since i saw from the report that system took 75% of battery by itself at night. I think the app was theft aware 2 (it hides itself as system app so thief's don't delete it). I post this info so that people realize that battery drain is mostly caused by apps from the market.
TL;DR: battery lasts 2 days - 1 day heavy use
believe me ,you're as right as your complain but not so perfect not having it.
it is the best smart phone out there now, am not a sales rep neither do i want to convince you but nothing come so close to perfect in the phone world than the sgs2.
all phones got there one problem or the other but you will surely enjoy this one.........read alot about this and that on the forum also till i got mine and wasn't having those problem, dont ask me what i did to my phone cos i did nothing, just download batiste rom and love it .go for it i advice but let the choice be yours
ok thanks guys
but another Q .... about build quality and heat generation
the outer layer of the body of the phone is easy to be removed by scratches or it is fine and durable ?? this is a major factor that makes me toward sensation first
and what about heat generation is it a related to battery drain and solved or not ??
and does the heat affect the device ??? or it is in the normal range
i know it is normal to phone to get hot when charging or using gps or other hard work but my Q is the generated heat is tooo high that annoy or not ??

Try Samsungdive - doesn't eat the battery and it's built in!
Well, I started off thinking the SGS2 was not for me, then it grew on me, probably Android more than the phone.
Battery life started off pretty bad, but once you sort of a few things like the AP news widget that drains and uses data, etc...Also my battery lasts and charges faster each day, I guess the battery takes a while to get to its optimum, at first I was struggling with the battery life, now I am as happy as I was with my Iphone4.
Games don't lag at all, well at least not for me, I have now rooted mine so as I can use the chainfire 3D drivers to be able to play Tegra games, which run very smoothly indeed, just wish there were more games, but then that's not the devices fault.
I quite like TouchWiz, works well for me, but now I have just read about this Go UI thingy, I might try it out. Something I am finding more and more each day is how terribly addictive playing about with your Widgets and homescreens is, so much to play with and again, not had any lag whatsoever.
The camera is brilliant, much better then the old Iphone4's faster, clearer, quicker to autofocus, can't work out where this pink stuff is though, my photos seem fine.
Music, I use the built in player make sure 5.1 is set and download free Equalizer from the market, simply perfect sounds.
Another thing that I have not found as well is this wake up lag, perhaps I am so used to the slower performing Iphone 4 that I just don't notice these things.
If you want more imaginative and creative games and applications Android is not for you (but its getting there), go the route of Iphone4.
But if you want a super fast, stable, freedom to do what you like, OK games and Apps, general brilliant allround device, the SGS2 is for you.

Build quality - IMO : It's very good, there was a video on youtube showing the outer layer being really stretched and it was still like stock after the stretch. And it's anti-stratch(idk how to say), I got no scratch.
Heat generation, while charging it can get very hot, and maybe it get hots sometimes while playing, but I have the feeling it's gone after some times, or you get used to it. It's really bearable.
Battery drain is, for me, solved in XXKG1. Though I can get only 4 hours screen-on time(that's enough for me) with auto-brightness(3 approx. with max brightness), the phone can last a day and a half for me.
I think all smartphone have battery drain problem.
For me... in standby mode 2 days (received some calls)
and 6-8 hours maybe less for heavy use (games+wifi+gps)
but you can use Power saving mode function to save your battery life.
I got the problem about pink spot on my camera but someone said it will be fixed when new rom available.
"a small lag for 2 sec after moving the immage of unlocking screen" - I saw new 2.3.4 has fix this problem.

Dive dies when you change sim. I had Dive installed on stolen SGS2 and all it did was say "SIM card has changed" and it didn't give the new phone number of the thief's or nothing. SamsungDive is useless.
Theft Aware still works after Sim change and is way way better in functions.. im not ready to uninstall it yet, but hope to find that the drain is caused by something else.

1- this phone is lag free even on stock TW4. But Launcher Pro Plus is one of teh best alternative launchers for people that liek to change. And LPP won't affect your battery at all
2- I don't game but it is supposed to be one of the best gaming phones. Phone compatibility shouldn't be an issue as it is one of the top selling android phones
3- Battery life is great compared to most smartphones. It will also depend on your use of it. Most phones will be behind it though with such a screen.
4- Camera is one of the best on smartphones. But, of course, don't expect such a small lens to give you something even near to a DSLR or even a high end compact digital, ok!!
5- Sound quality: just like for point 4: don't expect it to replace dedicated hardware for music amateurs (not the RnB deaf generations )
6- I used it all the way on KE2 and since few days official KF3. Stay official and you'll have less issues if you like stock

1- Just select apps you need and don't install every freeware you see just to "consume" apps. Limit auto updating apps, limit auto-starting apps, avoid live widgets and limit most widgets. Just general good sense rules like with any OS in the world.
2- People saying they don't have the issue just don't know how to reproduce it. Yes, it has it, like the SGS1 I tested and many other smartphones. It will appear under some special circumstances. As I said, it's a very small lens and will have some limits under many circumstances, like it is with any lens if you know a little about photography. The spot won't ever bother you most of the times.
3- See my answer above about games.
4- This issue is absent. Most people in forums install any thing on their phone and then complain...
any one have dust under screen ???
it is one of the facts that makes me stop thinking of the sensation
Guys..how about the banding issue..? has the banding issue been addressed by the latest software upgrades? or does angry birds, the battery charging meter and live wallpapers still exhibit banding?
No banding, no dust under screen. I dunno how you could even fit any dust under screen, it's not like iphone 3gs with 5mm between screen and glass. I only had the previous for 3 weeks though and this one is about a week old now.
:O the banding issue has been rectified? could you post a pic of the charging screen or angry birds if possible?

[help] planing to buy defy

hey all XDA guys
i am planing to buy defy
my usage is not that much
simple phone calls of 2-3 hours a day and SMS
no 3G or 2G
but yeah 2-3 hours of wifi will be used
so what do you say , should i go for it
and if possible please say your experience with defy
thanks in advanced
if you are not interested about owning the ultimate phone, and you will use a custom rom, defy is a great phone with such many features. camera is the only thing i dont like very much
As an owner for the last few months I highly recommend it.
The pros and cons from my experience:
Pros-
Excellent value for money.
Compact yet has a 3.7" screen
Gorilla glass means no scratches.
Waterproof / dustproof (although the USB plastic band is getting less and less tight fit,
as you need to pull it every time you charge).
Cons-
Camera not so good, especially at non ideal lighting.
wifi receiver a bit weak.
Motorola Defy
I call a defy for about one year my own.
First: Its no High End Mobile...
But for everyday use, like sms, internet or of course Phone its great.
I never had the feeling its the wrong mobile for me.
For people who are using this Phone for social activities like facebook, twitter and stuff, the motorola interface, called motoblur, is quiet nice. I've been happy with motoblur... but then i installed a custom rom. its definetly smoother... But motoblur is not that bad
Everything works fine. Camera Quality is not the best, but for snapshots its enough. Also Video is not that goot, no 720p for some Defys and sound quality is also not that good.
another great thing about the defy are the developers. Custom Roms, Mods and Stuff like that are great. In the begining i said its no High End Phone, but thanks too the developers my Defy with CM7 and overclock to 1.2Ghz scores better Benchmarks than an Optimus 3d on Stock...
Battery lifetime is quiete nice. My Phone is almost the whole day in use. But battery lasts about one day... I'm using customroms for about a half year, so i forgot how it was with stock setttings.
Of yourse another great thing about the defy is that it is "undestroyable",... my last 3 mobiles broke after half an year... but the defy still works great and it dropped it a lot of times. its waterproof, i tested it. Gorillaglass, nice feature, but not as "awesome" as you may think. its not 100% scratchresistable, but its better than normal glass.
Hope this helped you.

Yotaphone 2 on the horizon!

Starting to look less Sony Z'ish (version1), and more Sammy/Nexus'ish:

Its out and its beautiful. What are people's general thoughts on the yotaphone 2? I really really really want one but prefereably not until its less than £500
I have the phone, and i like it, here are some photos, sry for the quality, photos are taken with HTC Desire 816.

Quadrant 20879
3D Mark Ice Storm Unlimited 15086
PCMark 3753
my quick review
i have one,
ink display can be a little sluggish, and takes a little but to set up - can only use prefixed screens which can be slightly customized ... not like traditional hone screen where you can add a lot of widgets and apps!!!
case is slippy like most phones but overall pleased.
.but think price is a bit ott
not too much clutter ie inbuilt apps but no memory card slot
battery not lasting much longer at moment but playing a lot with it so hoping for better when novelty has worn off
customer care appears ok.... had to chase up delivery but it was carrier problem
I have also one. It is fast and slim. It feels realy nice and the ink display is working fine.
Missing all the options I have on S4 with custom roms xD
However, I'm trying to get root on the phone and so far I only found a way via Kingo Root. My problem is however that there is no driver for win7. If I enable USB-debug Kingo root can not find the device....
Nice thing is that you can charge it via EasyCHEE® T900: Qi for example.
I hope that I will find a way in the future to root the device p,p
It could do with a memory card slot and waterproofing. Hopefully in the next version
I actually preferred the Xperia Z'ish look but it might be just me.
Would you say that this phone was worth using as a dev unit or is it just a good phone to have in general?
just took the plunge and spent hundreds upon hundreds of pounds on a YotaPhone 2 (used YOLO as an excuse )
It will arrive next week so will be able to give some feedback if anyone will be interested
waiting for mine as well, hoping for it to come next week. will get back with first impressions sooooon
Would be really interested to hear how the battery life is if only the e-ink display is used. I only ever use my phone for reading webpages, text and phoning so if there was a big enough increase in life I'd switch.

Using the yotaenergy mode but still allowing full data and background account sync I have managed to run 24hours with only 15% battery used, so I could push if to go for a whole week without charging.
In reality I make a bit more use of the phone and am typically getting 2-3 days use out of it between charges with about 30% battery left.
First report - it is utterly beautiful and the bumper adds to the aesthetic imo. E ink screen is great, feels lovely, panels are pretty configurable. All the yota apps are working pretty well for me and being able to switch over is a great feeling. Still slightly disconcerting when putting hand in pocket and feeling screen on either side but its class being able to just take out phone and look at clock, notifications and whatever else without unlocking and using negligible battery. It hasn't had a full charge yet, it had a small one and then had a heavy night of downloading and updating apps and playing with. At work now, will give it a full charge when I get back and then can do a proper battery test (don't have gsam on him yet either). I'm impressed so far though, seems to be holding out well considering there were a fair few solid hours of heavy usage.
Full report to follow soon.
It's name is Yakov - after one of my favourite crazy Russians; Yakov Pavlov. (for those interested in a good story or two - http://listverse.com/2012/09/17/top-10-facts-about-the-battle-of-stalingrad/ has good summaries)
anyone tried rooting yet?
Framaroot not working, will try Kingo next
Kingo worked on the first yotaphone, fingers crossed.
Just stumbled across the fact that there is a YotaPhone 2. I had waited for the first one for quite some months before going for a Nexus 5 (well, it was over half a year after YotaPhone was announced and before Nexus 5 came out, you do the math)
Now, even after it was finally released, it was certainly not set up for success. But they seem to have done everything right with the secnd incarnation (almost, that is. Bit weak on the processor and battery, and what's this Qi-charging which cannot be done with E-Ink facing up?)
The phone is about 520 Euros in Russia and I'm getting really tempted, especially reading initial reactions on here. But at this point I'm not sure I could live without my custom Android tweaks. Do you guys think there will be any development on this device? Maybe Yota would be smart to actually release their code...
Cheers,
rien
TLDR version of my review that I stuck on a yota 2 review thread - Very pretty phone, great front screen, back screen surprisingly useful and nice to look at and touch. Software well implemented. Hopeful for long term development improvements. Very good performance, great battery. Occasional glitch but nothing that detracts from and limits experience.
Overall, loving it. Expensive but very different and a joy to use.
I admit I'm very tempted, but yes, will there be any development? The novelty of the double screen will wear off and then I will certainly miss the tweakability of a rooted phone.
YotaPhone 2 successfully rooted
Achieved root on YotaPhone 2 on 4.4.3, build KTU84L.4.4.3-S01-003-EU1.0.3.56a using Kingo Root on a Windows 8 device.
Used the original YotaPhone ADB drivers downloaded from yotaphone.com
Hope that helps
Nice one dude, thanks very much for the info. Happy tinkering / modding.

Mate 8 - a few questions from a potential buyer

Hi all,
I am in a market for a new phone and my best bet so far is the Mate 8. I love its screen size, body-to-screen ratio, battery life and smooth performance.
However, reading numerous reviews raised some concerns for me that I was hoping you guys could help me with:
- The dreaded software. Is it so horrible in its latest official version (I would like to mention that I would use only official stuff so I am safe not to void warranty)?
- Can I make the phone look and feel as a "normal" Android phone?
- What is going on with the camera? Some reviews stated it's horribly unstable, slow and the photo quality is subpar. How is the current situation?
- How about the notification issue? Has it been resolved?
- How is the screen looking for you? Any tints and other distracting stuff?
Thanks for your replies!
Can't say about other variants, but I have an L29 and on official B581
- software is fine and stable (as stable as any other major brand)
- I'm running Nova launcher which works perfectly. The Huawei own launcher is ok as well. Runs like any other Android.
- Camera is ok. Not the best in class but good enough.
- Notifications issues were resolved a while back.
- The screen is absolutely fine, no specific issues.
Do note that there hasn't been any major original android development on this (some attempts at Lineage, but didn't get too far).
Hope this helps.
-I'm on official L29---b582 , EMUI 5.0.1
No problem with software and got huge battery optimisation on latest update
- it's Android you can do anything, there's pixel2 moded launcher in XDA, and free themes like this[emoji116]
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=emui.en.com.gpix2
- i dont know about notification issue cus i never had it ( the problem was on some Emui4s i think)
-camera is not good as 2017's phones obviously, but its good enough (there no 4K video recording thought)
-about the screen, you'll love the screen )

I have the Mate8, L29C185B series. I've "retired" it about a month ago, and got the 9.
Have I had any problems in the just over a year? Nope. I run 100% stock, don't root, unlock bootloader or anything.
Other than using Nova Launcher Prime, instead of EMUI, what she came with, is how I run it.
Onto the software. It came with android 6, which I was perfectly fine with. It was updated to 7 in April of 2017.
Had 7 not been released, in my usage, it wouldn't have made a difference. 6 for me was rock solid.
My phone stays on 24/7. My usage is around 1500-2000 minutes per month on the phone, 300-400 text messages
per month, tons of web browsing (work), mp3's, streaming and LOTS of photographs.
On the subject of photos, I use Camera FV5 for that device, and it works fantastic. The key to getting a good
photo with a smartphone, is still to make sure you HOLD it still. The camera on the 9 is faster at capturing, but
for what I use the camera on the 8 for, it does the job. I do field electronics work, and use the phone camera
to snap photos of failures and parts on the equipment. The photos were always pretty clear, and in focus.
(I'm a weekend photographer for over 30 years, so I'm pretty good at holding it still).
The battery life for me, was typically 1 to 1.5 days. On weekends, I typically don't even use my phone, so charging
it Friday evening, would usually give me 60% left over by Sunday evening.
The 8 is a fantastic phone, in my opinion, unless you just "gotta have" the latest and greatest firmware installed.
Huawei isn't known for being spot on, to releasing software, but for my last 3 Huawei phones (Mate 2,8,9) they
have been very stable without any problems, that I didn't concern myself if it didn't have the latest firmware.
"It just works".
Thanks a lot for your input guys.
Even though three users might be considered as a rather smallish sample, your detailed answers are very reassuring and I have pretty much made a decision.
Thanks again!

Overall love

Yes, yes, it's possible to love a phone. Heck, you sleep next to it, don't you? Rate this thread to indicate your love for the Samsung Galaxy A50, all things considered. A higher rating indicates that the Samsung Galaxy A50 is an incredible phone that you enjoy tremendously. You love it.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Worst fingerprint experience ever. It doesn't recognize the registered fingerprints most of the time. I hope there will be a software fix or I will sell this garbage.
Ota updates
Hi i am a a50 user my phone originally from malysia i install indian rom with odin for faster update do i still get ota update?
My previous smartphone was a HTC U Ultra, and so far I couldn't be happier with the change.
The screen is awesome and the battery seems to be excellent as well.
My only complaint is the fingerprint reader which is garbage, but that isn't a mayor issue for me because the face unlock works really well.
Got the phone 3 days ago.
Display is excellent. Camera is far above expectations in midrange class. Battery is moderate: 2 days of light use ( Lenovo P2 does 4-5 days ). Software UI is messy - as with Samsung - you like it or hate.
What is my worst nightmare are notifications ! This is my first and definitely LAST phone without LED. Such small thing ruined my all positive feelings to this phone.
In theory one may set: screen blinking and/or LED Flash blinking upon missed notifications. THAT DOES NOT WORK ! ( tried many times and did few factory resets ).
The ONLY way is: you must pick up the phone and check manually the notification bar. I hate it !
I also have Galaxy Watch ( worked flawlessly with Lenovo P2 for many month ). I thought that Samsung Phone and Watch will cooperate perfectly. Nothing of that kind ! Devices repeatedly disconnect making my Galaxy Watch practically unusable.
At this moment I am totally discouraged and plan to sell this phone. Maybe I will wait to first update - if anything changes for better.
Hey mate, yeah I miss the LED diode too. However, if you set up the AOD to be always on then it's quite managable and it doesn't drain the battery that much too (if you have dark mode on). Also you can try setting up the notification reminders in the settings - it will vibrate/make a notification sound every 3 minutes or so to remind you of any notifications that you might have missed. You could maybe try returning the device for a new one, my unit was restarting on its own every 2 days and after I got it exchanged for a new unit it looks fine (so far so good...). That may help with the Galaxy Watch, or maybe wait for a firmware update. It should fix the fingerprint and camera performance too.

I did it but i get reminder only once
The Display from Samsung is obviously a dope for many. Even it has 1080P, the display is the highlight for phone.
Really good screen and processor for this price point but camera and fingerprint reader are absolutely not good. Face unlock is blazing fast but doesn't work in low light conditions.
Single speaker but it gets decently loud(louder than my nexus 6p dual speakers)
Dolby atmos boosts headphone sound quality.
Bluetooth 5 but not all features supported, only supports high speed phy2m same as Samsung s9. No problems with bluetooth headphones but range is not as far as other bluetooth 5 devices.
Bought the phone few days ago and these are my first impressions. Screen is excellent big and colorful. Really good battery life so nothing to complain here. The cameras are decent its what you would expect form this price point but it will get you good shoots when you need it, ultrawide lens is definitely a plus. Now fingerprint, its ok its not nearly as bad as I read from people here. Yeah I know capacitive sensor is fast but hey this one is not that bad. FYI scan your finger sideways not vertically because you will likely scan it this way when using the phone (it should work faster), and scan same finger as two separate fingerprints this should help too https://www.reddit.com/r/LifeProTip...can_the_same_finger_as_2_separate_fingers_on/. Did I mention the excellent battery!?
Regarding bloatware....now I saw a lot of review sites complaining about this one, and I have to say Its not brutal like they say it is. One thing to look out here is when you setup your phone to skip installing all those Samsung apps with Samsung account the phone offers you and you will be fine. Then just disable or uninstall the ones you don't need(At least it's so here in Europe dont know about other regions). Ads, ads, ads.....everywhere, well you can disable them in the initial setup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6Tz7kLCTaA.
Overall, Its a great phone for the money and people should not expect perfect performance in games or perfect camera or fastest on earth fingerprint sensor, but a solid phone that gets things done in almost every aspect of it.
Hi mate developers are found a new approach for LED notification. They are planning to use animation under camera light to use it as a notification LED. Besides you have always screen on option as a workaround as of for now.
Letting blink fake "led's" on the display as a notification no good idea?
The current AOD is kind of a weak implementation. There should be something blinking and the clock should be able to turned off.
Except for the fingerprint, it's perfect
Well... I can see that other guys have the same problem: fingerprint scanner. No led lights.
So after the initial hype I cooled down and here's my 2 cents...
Overall the phone is great. I mean both size and userfriendliness. Have the phone only 2 days and so far it's ok. After initial charge the battery showing 45% remaining at the end of the second day. WOW!
I'm not a heavy user, but still impressed.
Now , 2-3 things that ruined the joy.
1) fingerprint scanner is a complete mess!!!
2) notification light missing! Until now I didn't realized how convenient it is (and useful).
3) no IP rating.
I'm on the verge of going back to my previous phone (A8 2018) which was a VERY GOOD phone...
Loving my A50
So far, for the pricepoint, a really good experience. Nice cameras for photos, selfies, wide angles and video recording, beautiful display and great UI, even the Samsung apps are nice and not so invasive, the design is flagship-alike, the battery holds 1,5 day with heavy usage easy, the recording quality pretty decent, and came with headphones, screen and back protectors and the USB-c cable ♡.
Cons: Not so good Fingerprint reader, no IP rating, no led, too many fingerprints in the back and... I don't know, not a heavy gaming phone.
Very happy with this phone
So couple of days passed... find out that if you leave your finger on screen for 5-6 seconds it unlocks the phone. However I haven't got the update yet, so will see how it works after the update...
P.S.: happy with the phone, but still inner voice whispering "go back to A8 ,(which feels more premium)" ...
Try registering multiple times the same finger you use for unlocking the phone... change angle or position your finger for every fingerprint entry. Much better if you will register the position which your finger aligns with the sensor when handling the phone in normal conditions. Scanning would be faster.
Nah... don't bother me anymore. S10 is on the way
Overall I'm disappointed by this phone. Weak signal reception, SOT not so good, awfully finger print sensor. Man.....I'll go for another brand for my next phone
Quite satisfied with my a50, for a device that cost me only 250€. Good battery, beautifull screen, good perf after adb debloat, good rom ( a lot of usefull features )
Of course on negative side, the fingerprint scanner is just awfull, but you can use face unlock instead , it works flawlessly and is very fast, it works even in a dark room
