Hi there can any1 help me out on this.I'm having truble hearing received txt messerges.Allso can't here the alarm.
I was wondering if there is any chance that I can use my ring tones and my alarms and received txt messerges like I do on my old p900 even reall tunes are not a problem.
If you can do this where do I put my rig tones what fold to thay go in so I can use them for what I need them for.I guess that I would have to put them into two different folders one for reciving txt messerges and one for alarm.
I cant seem to find the folders with the tunes allready in them that are allready in the phone. For using recived txt messerging or and alarms that are allready on the phone.Maybe if I could find them I mite be able to add my tunes to both of them.
Please help me out
thanx

You put your ringtones into the device\windows\rings folder. The format can be anything from mp3, wav, midi, wma
For email notification, your sound file MUST be in wav format, and should be placed in device\windows folder. You can appoint the new wav sound to be the default notification sound under Settings/Sounds & Notifications
For alarms, the sound file also MUST be wav. Put it under device\windows. Set up the alarm using the time applet on the Today screen
Hope that helped
Thanx for your help ill try that.If I can't get it to work ill let u. know thanx mono33
Hi does the wav sound need to be put into a folder in the device\window settings.Thanx mono33
All the WAV sound files must be in device\windows, not a subfolder (otherwise they won't show up in settings/sound¬ifications)
Ringtones must be put device\windows\rings (WAV, MP3, WMA, OGG...)
It won't hurt to experiment a bit, does it?
Incoming Call Ringtones can use few formats (WAV, WMA, MP3, AMR, etc) and directory to place the ringtone files can be tweak.
But Incoming SMS/Email/MMS Ringtones can only support WAV and only in Windows directory.
Is there a hack to able to make Incoming SMS/Email/MMS Ringtones to support more formats and in another directory?
Yeah that would be great... And if there is wa way to use Mp3 rings from the SD card for SMS sounds and alarms.
How can i set an Mp3 or wav as ringtone alert?
Thanks
I want to now that too? i have tried set the tones in my device/windows where all the alert/notification are but not working?? why is that? you dont see the tone in the list att all when you set a notification tone. I have tried mp3 wav wma tones.
what I did (and which is working) : I have 2 sounds that I wanted to use (1 for sms alert and another one as ringtone for my phone). the ringtone, I converted it to mp3 (mono, 96kbps) and put it in the windows\rings folder. for the sms alert, I left it as wav and put it in windows folder (mp3 wasn't recognized). in that way, they both appear at the right place in sound/notifications.
Ok, so you must convert the sounds? if you want to use them as notification tone. Thanx! gamin, I try that!
You can use ether MP3 or WAV as a ringtone, but only WAV for SMS.
SMS tones need to be in the windows folder.
If you want to use an MP3 as a ringtone all you have to do is hold the stylus on the MP3 to get the menu up and select "set as ringtone".
I know this works in WM6 but not sure about WM5.
does it exists a software to manage rings (for all alerts)?
Thanks

How about it?
How about it, you feel ?
For work, I receive email notifications for my voicemail. It includes an attachment allowing to play them directly from my phone. They are .wav format but do not seem to play correctly when I open them. I see a message popup saying that the player does not support this type of audio file. Am I to believe that this modern OS does not know how to handle a .wav file?
