Hey everyone, the default Android keyboard is SOO small! Does anyone know how to make it larger? I like to use it in Portrait mode, because of the screen real estate that it gives me, but it's too low. I need it to be the size of the default Swype keyboard .
I type in both Spanish and English, and it's a big help to be able to change very quickly.
Any ideas? Or if you can't change the default keyboard size, would you recommend another one that's larger?
Thanks!
U cud try using smart keyboard pro...gives u the option of increasing key size...the option I currently use covers around 60%of the screen in landscape mode..and 50% in portrait mode..
Cool thanks. That fixed it

what about that silver thingy that appears when you slide your phone open? you know.. the one with those kinky bluewhite lit characters on it?
is there a keyboard out there that when you turn the device sideways to horizental view, the keyboard also goes to bigger view?
most keyboards that i have seen, when turned to landscape orientation, are pretty much the same size, but just horizontal. i dont think there are any that make the buttons a little bigger. that would be great tho. i think its because it would take up too much of the screen tho.

Hi,
well you can try PocketCM Keyboard 0.14 + my skins pack here
keys are bigger in landscape than in portrait, and you also have the choice of 2 sizes.
Finkerkeyboard2 is a great too : you just have to search for a skin that is bigger in landscape but I dunno if someone has already made it ??
There's a lot of great keyboards with nice skins on WinMo so the best for you is to try them and to make your own idea
Does anyone know of a good keyboard replacement for the *sprint* HTC Hero? Or a way to make it larger for my fat fingers?...I mean BIG BONED fingers?
Hello.
I think the best one for "big boned fingers" is Better Keyboard :

It looks ugly but the keys are pretty much larger

Have you tried the HTC T9(Compact Qwerty) keyboard?
I would recommend Touchpal. I used that back on WM and i have installed it on my Hero. However i have reverted back to stock keyboard after updating Paul's ROM to the latest one as it doesnt lag that often anymore.

I noticed that it helped quite a bit in vertical typing, but i still notice some poor response horizontally. is there any way to calibrate the keyboard in horizontal mode?
Hi
Is it possible to change keyboard in CM7 to phone keypad ??
it is really difficult to send message with its default keyboard...
tnx
Yes of course you can, just download one from market then go into language and keyboard settings and enable it. Then bring your keyboard up and long press on text screen and change imput method to new keyboard.
Alternative is to remove latin.ime from system apps and replace with other keyboard.
Big buttons keyboard is quite good, used it for a while but stock is more responsive and the new ics keyboard posted in apps and themes thread is awsome.
