First let me say sorry if this is in the wrong thread. Didnt really know where to post it.
So this is my second week or so playing with app dev. I have tried app inventor and a couple other programs to try and help me accomplish what I want to do. But, looks like Eclipse is my tool.
In Eclipse who would I like a button to another string xml file? Basically I created a button that needs to link to a new screen.
Let me say I dont know what I am doing. But, I know how to read and pretty much figure things out. Would this link be like a, a href? Thanks. Example please.

I have a verizon 6700. I have been trying to download everything I need all day. I have tried different peoples programs, and it doesnt seem to be working. Maybe i didnt drop things in the right folder or something. I have no idea right now. If ANYONE can help me, I'll be up all night until I get it right.. Every thing from the home screen to the icontacts, to the sms chat, to the s2p, to the pixsel browser..all of it isnt working right. I guess I need step by step instructions for my phone. I understand its your 2nd post here..but like everyone is told, please read the FAQs and everything before posting a new thread. A new thread only makes searching difficult for everyone else and makes the forum packed
Uhh......majority of the apps are simple ".cab" files, just click on them in the file explorer of your PPC. Really, it's that simple. If you need other help, post in the above mentioned thread, and be more specific, can't help fix a problem we don't understand ourselves!

My first post here, so forgive me if this was posted in the wrong forum!
Here goes, I have an HTC touch pro 2 and my boyfriend has different bookmarks/icons on his touchflo 3d (the line at the bottom with home, contacts, photos/videos, texts, emails etc) and I'd also like to have those on my phone. I tried using the search but nothing came up. I wondered if any of you knows where I can find those different icons/bookmarks?
And a silly other question, if found, could somebody also please explain how to install it?

First of all, sorry about the photo, Ive deleted it now! I didnt know it wasnt allowed, otherwise I wouldnt have done it.

Just to clear it up, I meant things like that, not neccesarily the one you posted, I also know someone who for example has a Hello Kitty-theme, and Ive seen Fire-themes, but Im just looking for other themes aswell, so I can choose which one I like most.

Developers have done a lots of things, unlocking/editing spl's , so is it never possible to do this? if not, why not? and if it is possible , are developers working in this??

On XDA here, is a genius called "SEARCH" , it knows more than 99% of us, Probably try using it next time before opening a thread.

Dude camon thats what we've been waiting for along time. There are dosen of threaths about that ando u come here and ask that question? Work a little bit and do a search about NAND on HD2 and u see where we'r at.

yes there is a way , to bad people on here like to use word search instead of not responding at all , its better just to leave on your sd card being the more apps you install it will limit you youll run out of space .

Guys,sometimes all it takes and requires is a simple "NO or YES" answer and perhaps a few links that might guide the person.

You're right. In the short run, just answering the question is an easy enough thing to do. In the long run, though, you'll end up doing all of vijaysapkota's searching for him in the future as well.
When it comes to searching, we all have the same tools here. Everybody needs to learn to use them. Taking the lazy way out and expecting others to do your work for you is just rude.
I'd also like to add that there's a perfectly fine HD2 Linux/Android Q&A Thread in this very forum, containing the answer to this and many other questions.

Hi all, I'm attempting to modify/fix someone else's app. The app is a forum reader. It used to be on the Play store, but has now been removed.
I still use it, but it doesn't work properly. I'd like to fix it to continue using it. This is for my personal use only.
Basically, I can reply to threads/make new posts, but I can't create new threads. (There is other stuff I'd like to change as well).
Could anyone help? I won't attach the app here now, I'm not sure if I can post it, as the app doesn't belong to me. (Can anyone confirm?)

You can post the app as long as its not a paid for application (posting paid apps is warez).
As for modifying/fixing it though, you'd have to use apktool to edit it and even then you wouldn't be able to work in java, it would be in smali which is a pain in the ass to work with.

I'm using Virtuous Ten Studio to edit the app.
My main issue is creating new threads. In the app I have this;

The forum uses the same command to post new threads, where the * is the sub-forum number.
I think the above string is correct, so I'm assuming the code is wrong elsewhere?

It is a forum. What you are asking for though isn't java help, its smali help so you're asking in the wrong forum. I would recommend doing some serious research into the decompilation process of apks. Additionally to me this looks like you are trying to make a spam version of a normal app (won't ever work btw because of the apk signing process) so its not really any wonder why no one has offered any help.

I dont want to make a spam version its for private use
I saw modded apks which have toast frame messages and even a splash screen so I tought it would be possible to add a video too

It is, its just a lot of work and I doubt anyone in this forum would be bothered enough to do it in smali, besides the developers that actually know smali properly enough to do this are very few and far between.

And btw maybe its possible to just make a splash screen but use an animated gif that would be awsome
