Is your Titanium Backup broken? - Epic 4G General

Ever since I updated my Titanium Backup, it can't get root privileges. Is anyone else having this problem?
Edit: I'm beginning to think its not titanium, none of the apps that require su are working. Terminal says I'm not rooted. Now I have to figure out why it says I'm not rooted when I am.

[Q] EVO not permanent root

What?!? I have read in several places that the EVO doesn't support "permanent" root.
First of all, technically what does that mean?
Second, what does it mean for a "lover of ROOTed EVOs" like my self??
Just a little confused and worried now...lol

Could you link some of the places that you heard this? The original unrevoked 1 was a on phone app that was not permanent. I think it might mean you can unroot if you choose to. Not sure though. There is defietally permanent root.
Well if it's not permanent it is sure lasting me a long time. Like 6 months now. How much longer do you think I have before my root runs out? Please answer this is very important.

I'm new to the whole rooting thing and I wasnt sure what it meant... I will try to find the places I read that... I know one was in the market for a one click root app... And when I saw that I googled it but couldn't find anything conclusive....ghats why I thought I would ask the experts here

hehe sorry. We absolutely have permanent root. Like The Dude said, the original unrevoked was not permanent but every method since has been permanent. I'm sure whatever you read was old and/or possibly misinterpreted. Rest assured, your root is permanent and will not run out any time soon
Cool... I didn't think it meant it would run out, but it tricked me into thinking that something could happen...

I think he's talking about z4root which isn't permanent with the Evo due to requiring Nand unlock.

Yeah I think that was it

Not rooted really?

For reason my phone said it wasn't rooted the thing is I'm a 2 year deep in this rooting thing and my evo is running cm7 wimax f...ing weird but reboot fixed it has anyone ran into this?
Gingersnap evo it taste soooo good
What is saying your phone isn't rooted? You probably just accidentally denied superuser permission to whatever root app you were messing with.
my phone has never talked to me, let alone told me if it was rooted or not.
Terminal Emulator said it tibackup all my rooted only apps even su .....

People brick phones then lie about it, costing Samsung money (even if they reject the phone with evidence of root they still have to pay their techs to check it out).
What cost more? Trying to stop rooting? like the sony gone bezerk with hacking ps3. Or dealing with phones as you said?

Yes yes they do and it cost them money....but if they stopped being ASSHATS and preventing us from having root none of this would happen. Dont lock down the devices period and make it easy to restore etc. They dont do it to our computers why our mini computers (phones)?

CIQ is it back again?

So I was just reading on twitter that the T-Mobile version of the S4 does again have CIQ on the divice. Makes me wonder if Sprint and Samsung also put it back into the roms for the newly released S4.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda premium
someone send my framework-res.apk ill toss it to him for him to decompile it, but i doubt it very much, tmobile never stopped using ciq
Yes, it's on the T-Mobile device, but not deeply embedded. That's the only piece in the framework I've found thus far.
No, it's not going to be on your device. Sprint ditched CIQ like a live 415-volt three-phase line in a snowstorm.

How can I make my device appear to be Official/Not Rooted??

Stupid NFL Mobile App blocked me from using their app because I am rooted. WHAT NERVE THEY HAVE! Lol, seriously though is there anyway I can fake being not rooted? Thanks.

You can try out "Triangle Away"
I don't remember if it changes device status to official, but I'm about 95% it does!

No, it just resets your flash counter, and I'm also pretty sure it makes the device status official.
But besides that, I don't know any other method
Does the temp unroot in supersu not work? If not I dont think there is anything you can do.
Ota root keeper get the apk from the playstore. Use the unroot function before opening NFL apk.

The revised apk works great!
Who would think with Verizon's name on the app that it would not like rooted phones. I am so happy that I dropped them last month and switched to Sprint. While the service is not up to Verizon's yet, not worrying about losing my unlimited data is awesome.

Lol, it was a bad attempt at blocking
I'm tempted to change the app to detect root again and have the banner say "Thank you for being rooted and fighting for the cause!", but still let you use the app
