[Q] HBOOT 1.01 And Clockworkmod - Legend General

I have managed to downgrade back to 2.1 but my HBOOT is 1.01. My phone is rooted but I dont have superuser app I tried installing it but it doesnt do anything. I checked if I can get su in terminal manager and I can so I know I have root. In rom manager it wont install clockworkmod just does nothing, and when I try fix permission I get "an error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands!"
Can anyone tell me how to get clockworkmod installed so I can upgrade to stock froyo with root? I already have the rom just cant flash it as I dont haveclockworkmod installed.

[Q] ota 1.82 and clockwork recovery update problem

Hi,
I'm trying to update my desire z from 1.72 to 1.82. It has Perm root, S-off and clockwork recovery 3.0.0.5 via this tut: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905261 and after that updatd to 1.72 and rooted again.
Now when I try to install the OTA I got an error in the recovery:
finding update package...
E: unkown volume for path [SDCARD:download/...
E:Can't mount SDCARD:download/....
Installation aborted.
Why is the update packages downloaded by the OTA update thing not accepted?
Best regards,
Christian
OTA updates do not work reliably on rooted phones, the problem you are having is beacuse of Clockwork what you should do is try to flash the stock htc recovery and then try to update, this worked for me but do remember you will loose root possibly forever (or atleast until a root comes out for 1.82 if at all) and all the advantages that go with it.
here is a tutorial for flashing recover images

this is the default htc recovery image you can use in the above guide

Lost Root Acess after updating to the lates Cyonagen ROM Release

Superuser not work
ROM Manager saying i need to root my phone. Please help completely lost.
Open superuser, hit menu, toggle permissions on, reboot.
And get rid of ROM Manager
Need More help didn't work
I don't use CM, but if it comes with the newest version of SuperUser (3.04 I believe), then that's likely the problem. Uninstall it and install an older version.
R&R SU with one in this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1297612
I too had thought I lost root access w/ latest SU (3.04 I believe).
Installed 3.0 in above link and everything back to normal now, i.e, root apps functioning normally.
Just be careful not to update app through Market to 3.04; I haven't found a way to stop it prompting me to update. Can't detach from Market via TB because SU doesn't appear in apps list.
i'm on 3.4 with no issues but ive lost root flashing other roms with 3.0. weird
Do what HipKat says.

[Q-RESOLVED] Disable Market Updater without being root

I've HTC Wildfire with a 2.2.1 Froyo's HTC Sense ROM.
I've S-OFF but all my tries to be rooted have been painfull (flashing some new kernels). The phone shows too slowsly and buggy.
I want to block market updater, buy I don't know if there is a solution to do from recovery.
Or maybe anybody knows a kernel which work find with a HTC stock rom ?
Thanks a lot.
Rooting means having the Superuser Binary and the Superuser app installed. It has absolutely nothing to do with kernels and ROMs. As long as you have both (Superuser binary and app), you are "rooted", irrespective of whether you are on the stock kernel or not. So, if you are not having SU, flash this in Clockworkmod Recovery:
http://goo-inside.me/superuser (Choose 3.0.6-efgh.zip)
For blocking the Market updater, you just need a terminal emulator, The post with the required command can be found here:

Sorry I've a big mistake.
That's because I was using SETCPU and it was troubling me.
Please DELETE this post if is possible
Thanks a lot.

i need help

i was looking and serching for a fix my nexus s , i update from Alpha 13 to ICS 4.0.3 and i lost ither root or SU permicion can someone guime to right way i nedd get to CWM and go to my backups and i can do the rest i try update SU buth i not able to get CWM i just get stock recovery i try update SU from app not root acdsse .
I would think that you need to flash your recovery again. fastboot your recovery .img then flash rom manager after you reboot and you should be ok. do this the same way you did when you originally rooted your phone.
You may need to unlock bootloader, root and install. Official stock ROM erased them all.

LG E400 Superuser binary problem

I rooted my phone with superoneclick 1.7 (rageagainstthecage exploit ) Ι used rageagainstthecage cause all other rooting methods are not working ( permission denied etc. )
Root successful, i updated superuser with the latest playstore version
then comes a notification saying that my binary is outdated
I open superuser i click check for updates binary , it finds an update but i can't install it , it comes with an error and says try again
i try again but nothing
Root apps are working perfect even with outdated binary but i feel like i want to update it
Is there any way to update the binary??? I am sure this not happens only to me
I dont want to chage the rom or anything like that
I want the stock rom but rooted.
Help for the binary update problem??
Sorry for my bad english ( I am from Greece )
you can flash the superuser update from CMW recovery
First, check if you have USB Debugging enabled. If it isn't, enable it. If it's not solving it, unroot (or reinstall the ROM) and root again, then you can try to update the binary again.

Reinstall the Stock ROM and root it again, I think it's the only method :/
