Change bottom icons - Nexus S General

Hello,
Just picked a Nexus S to replace my iPhone 4. Had all 4 iPhones but needed a change. Edge speeds aren't the best, but the screen is absolutely gorgeous compared to the iPhone 4. One quick question, how do I change the three icons at the base to different ones, or add another one like messaging? Right now it just has the phone, apps, and the browser. Thanks!

Try LauncherPro from the market, it's a superfast and smooth home replacement and launcher that is very customizable.

Download LauncherPro from the market.

Any way to just change the web launcher on the bottom to camera?

Launcher Pro will allow you to change all the icons at the bottom including the browser icon.

Really? You like the Nexus screen better than the iphone4?? i have a Captivate and my friend has an iphone4 and I think his screen is better than mine. The Galaxy S screens are probably the best I've seen except for the iphone4 screen.

not with the stock launcher. Are you going to be ok with edge?

Edge speeds are around 110 kb/s witht the Nexus S. With the iPhone 4 I got around 700-2500 kb/s. I am hoping someone will find a way to unlock the at&t 3g bands on the nexus S, like they did on the Samsung Vibrant. The iPhone 4 screen is more clearier but the colors are much richer and saturated on the Nexus S. The larger screen is a plus too.

Quick question regarding the Gmail app. I delete emails from my inbox in the Gmail app and there are two different trashes imap/trash and trash I tried long pressing on each email but they never delete when I say delete they just reappear in my trash. Is it not possible to delete emails completely from your account using the Gmail app??
Thanks, for your help.

Anyone else switching from iphone 4/4s?

Im switching from my iphone 4 to a galaxy s 3. There are so many advantages to switching. Anyone else want to express their relief about letting go of the apple ecosystem!
I switched from the iPhone 4S to the International S3. Had the 4S since release date. Got the S3 a few days ago. Had been using an iPhone since 2007 when the first was released.
There are pros and cons to each system. I think both are great.
Android is a more open system. I definitely like that.
I have both iPhone 4s, Note, HTC One X, SG3 and I only keep the iPhone and the SG3. Both systems is good. The Note when upgrade to ICS sucks. HTC One X battery sucks as well. SG3 by far has the best battery which can let me use it for whole day. iPhone is still my main business phone and the SG3 is for fun and development. My company developed Android TV box and ODM for people to put their band on it.

I suggest "Isyncr" from the google play store.
Great great way to transfer iTunes collection.
It is playlist based but a lot more reliable than Double Twist in my experience.
Transfer iphone to S3
Hi, I transferred from Nokia to Iphone when the first iphone appeared and have been with Apple ever since my last one being the 4S.
I wanted a larger screen though for browsing, watching films and reading books on holiday. I tried the note but found it too large so went for an S3.
I am really pleased with the move, the S3 is just as slick and fast, if not faster. Has much better battery life and a lovely large screen.
When I first got the S3 I tried via Kies to sync to my outlook files but it was rubbish so i started again and used the Transfer non-Samsung backup data option on the Kies main basic information page.
This located my last Iphone 4S backup and transfered my contacts with photos, calender, birthdays, notes, photos, videos and all my music that was on my phone. It worked brilliantly.
So I suggest anyone changing to backup their iphones and use Kies to do the transfer.

Samsung has partnered with this company to make the transition from ios to your new gs3 painless, the app is called easy phone sync, can sync everything from music to contacts.

I went from GS2 - iPhone 4s - Xperia S - HTC One XL- GS3 i9300
This is my personal ranking
1. GS3
2. GS2
3. iPhone 4s/Xperia S - tie
4. -
5. HTC One X
I have an iPad but I knew from the moment I bought it I had to use non-Apple services whenever possible so as not to get locked in. I use Kindle rather than iBooks, my Google account and Dropbox rather than iCloud. Just makes things easier to switch later
After many years using iPhone, I'm now using S3 and I'm loving it.
I also bought an iPad in case I miss iOS somehow. The only thing I miss is an app like Infolock or IntelliScreen, mainly to change the clock style and be able to make calls directly from lockscreen. I tried MagicLocker, LockerScreen 7 and WidgetLocker, but none of those is works flawless. If you have a password protected lockscreen those apps won't work very well.
I think the combination of an iOS tablet and an Android smartphone is perfect, at least for me.
I switched from the 4s to the skyrocket about two months ago.
I wasn't sure if I liked it more until I tried the skyics ROM. Once I found this ROM I don't think I will ever go back!

I switched from iphone 4s to SGS2, and then from the s2 to the S3. Damn I feel no regret and I can't imagine using iphone again. Even I've got a new ipad and Apple TV (basically for Netflix and mirroring my ipad).

The iPhone andnApple stuff is a very tight and reliable Eco system. For example my wife has a 4S, she took a bunch of pictures today, I'm on my iPad right now and the Photostream has all her pictures on my iPad right now for me to look at.
I took pictures on my GS3 and I have them auto upload to Dropbox, but then I have to sync them to iPhoto.
The GS3 is the best Android phone I have used, but like my buddy and I were talking about, the GS3 is the best Android phone of the moment. It seems that Andoid phones come and go, but the iPhone stays the same and is a pretty dran good device. The problem is the OS is too easy and boring for anyone that comes on this site. The screen is small but both will be updated in the coming months.
Right now I am enjoying the great battery life and niceness of my International GS3, but I am missing my iPhone too.

I am also using the same combination and it works fine for me. I also came from 4S. This is not my first Android phone though. I have used HTC desire, Samsung Galaxy S, Samsung Galaxy S2, and Samsung Nexus. My wife has HTC one x at the moment. I have also own every single iPhone since original. I don't know what the fuss is all about and why one of them (apple and android) has to be bad. Both are good for me however the small screen of iPhone is not good enough to play games who has on screen controls.

I am also switching from the iphone 4 whenever my new s3 come to BB. I can't wait! I'm so tired of this little screen on my iphone and all the boring features.
I love my new iPad and I enjoyed the iPhone 4s. Keeping my GS3 though and will most likely sell my iPad once I find a windows 8 tablet that can effectively replace my laptop, desktop, and tablet. The pro version of the surface looks like it might just pull it off too. We shall see.
But I plan to purge myself of all Apple because I don't like the way they patent everything.
Will probably end up regretting selling the iPad once Kingdom Rush 2 comes out though. Haha

I don't necessarily agree with your last point since the iPhone 5 isn't even out yet lol... I HAVE seen what they are potentially offering though in iOS 6 and unless iPhone 5 is going to add a million bells and whistles to that I feel iOS/Apple truly are now lagging behind Android in innovation. Jelly Bean will be on the radar by that time too. And that could add even more awesomeness to Android.
Agree with an earlier comment too. iOS is far too boring for the kind of person that browses this site.

[Q] Nexus 7 vs Samsung Galaxy Tab2 7 inch

Which is better? Thanks for your help.
No question about it.
The Nexus 7.
But don't forget, your at a Nexus 7 forum, ask the same question in a Galaxy forum and you'll get the same response but the other way round.
But it really is an brilliant device.
I know, but as in specs. Evidence doesn't lie
Yeah. Don't have enough to afford a nexus 10 in my country :'( $130 more than in the US.
Definitely get a nexus 7. I hear people moan about how slow galaxy tabs are compared with n7
yeah but what about specs?
Well the Tab2 7 already has old software on it where we are getting ANOTHER update to 4.2
The Tab2 is a nice tablet and I've seen it reduced to $249 to compete with the N7 but longevity, the Nexus easily wins. For me, half of the fun of owning a device is getting new features with a Nexus device. Plus if there is any problems, being able to get those fixes from somewhere other then the manufacture 4 months later.
Right now, both tabs a close draw. They are both really nice tablets with really nice features. But think about choosing one a year from now. In one hand you'll have the Nexus 7 running Key Lime Pie 5.0 vs the Tab2 [maybe] running JB 4.2
There's most always a way to manually update it.
Which one is faster? Has better resolution? Better speakers? Etc
I'd like to know the physical comparison.
I think the N7 is a no brainer over the Tab2.
Well you managed to navigate here, why not navigate to google & search for a side by side comparison I'm sure there are loads you could salivate over :banghead:

I have both so can try and give an objective view
The nexus 7 is slicker and faster for sure although regular folk who have used both don't notice any difference. I prefer the nexus 7 screen but the tab 2 is fine, nothing too major.
I actually prefer the software layout on the tab, I hate not being able to delete a home screen on the nexus on stock and I prefer the quick access to power toggles on the tab. I dont however like the stupid app panel on the tab that you cant disable.
One thing that surprised me, I do miss the back camera on the nexus. Just for stupid things like taking pics of the cats or whatever, its just handy to have that feature.
Of course you have the SD card on the tab, which is a bonus but the tab has less storage space for apps now the nexus is 16gb min. I will however use the tab on long journeys and trips away as I can put all my video and music files on the SD card. I just wished they found a way to let you (unrooted) move the large app data files to SD. Sygic GPS does allow you to move the map files to the ext SD so thats handy.
Tab doesnt allow my xbox controller to work on usb OTG whereas Nexus 7 does, although the tab worked with on other input devices such as mice.
To sum up, the Nexus is my preferred device in the majority of situations and I am recommending this to my parents over the tab2 unless a very good deal can be had for the tab2. So unless your someone who needs the extra SD space for media or will really use the back camera a lot, the Nexus would be my pick
edit: oh and I hate chrome on the nexus, much prefer the browser on the tab, chrome is unbelievable slow to the point of frustration

Helpful, thanks
Just find the AOSP browser for the N7 if you can.
-Brought to you by Marino's Nexus 7-
I have both as well, though the Tab 2 is on "semi-permanent loan" to my daughter.
First, Nexus 7 is Tegra 3, the Tab 2 is not. That means there will be some apps for the Nexus 7 that won't be available for the Tab 2 directly thru the Play Store (but possibly can be side loaded).
The Tab 2 features TouchWiz, but you probably knew that.
The Tab 2 has a built in IR blaster that works pretty good.
The Tab 2 being 8gb really only has about 5gb as usable storage.
The Quick Launch bar on the Tab 2 is nice, but seems that you can only add Samsung apps to it.
There is a Screen shot button on the main navbar of the Tab 2 that is too damn close to the Recent Apps button - I really don't like the positioning of it.
I personally miss having a rear camera on the N7, but it's not a deal breaker.
Updates, updates, updates for the N7 - big plus (stock Tab 2 still on 4.0.4)
Overall, I prefer the N7
I own them both.
You can't really compare them.
The Nexus is smooth, fast and definitely higher res.
The Tab has a sweet remote, ext. Memory and a back cam.
At the end end of the day, I love them both. But for very different reasons.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Well, now for a different perspective. I've had extensive time with both of them before giving the Tab to my sister. Stock, the Nexus will blow the Tab away in speed. The stock launcher on the Tab just felt so slow and laggy. But when I rooted the tab and put a jb rom on it, you honestly couldn't tell the difference between the two. The Nexus has newer hardware, so the specs are a bit better, but the Tab has expandable memory and an ir port, as well as a rear camera. Now, the jb rom doesn't have working drivers for the ir yet, but it's going to get jb officially soon, so that won't be an issue for long. I'd personally take the Nexus over the Tab, but it's really up to you. If you spend time learning to root the Tab, the difference in the processor isn't really enough to make much of a difference. I'm actually thinking about getting one for myself to go along with my Nexus.

Changing LCD Resolution

Finally got someone to show me their Note 2. Very nice, but i still have the same grip about the aspect ratio-16:9, not 16:10 like the OG Note. Placing both phones side by side in landscape or "tablet" mode, The OG shows 5 emails in gmail, while te N2 shows 4. Most tablets also have 16:10(like my Note 10.1) and 1280x800, which what makes the OG a "phablet" to me. THe N2 just is a big s3 at this resolution.
Has anyone used one of those LCD resolution apps? I see setting 320 dpi in the apps change the res to 1280x800, has anyone tried this on the N2? This is literally the only thing keeping me from getting it. The larger, phone looking display of information seems like such a waste of screen space. I want the tablet part of "phablet", the more lines of text the better.
Thank you for your input
I use density changer from the market and set it to 240dpi. Going back just looks weird now, everything's so BIG. You'll need a new keyboard though because the stock Samsung one FCs but there's loads on the market. Might be adviseable to have one readily downloaded before you change density. Some other apps go slightly awry but the plus points easily outweigh the HUGE icons.

This is not relevant, but I find this Interesting, because I am the opposite - I would not have considered the Galaxy Note II if it had retained the resolution of the original Galaxy Note. My primary use of the Note II will be for watching videos, and almost all of my video files are 16:9, so the black bars would bother me. (Strange, I know.) I also have a netbook with a resolution 1280x720, and yet, I have no problems with the fact that the screen has a shorter height than it would on a 1280x800 screen.

ye i modify build.prop and tweak my dpi, you have to be careful though or Samsungs stock keyboard goes into a FC loop of doom anything under 270dpi needs a keyboard replacement before you make the change. Theirs a thread somewhere with stocks apps modded for lower dpi.

[Q] Hard to decide between Note 3 and Nexus 5

Hi guys,
I am having some serious thoughts on what to get... Basically I am a software developer and I have a Galaxy Nexus, a Galaxy S1 some ond Xperia and a Nexus 7. It is time for me to switch to a new device as my daily driver. The options I have are Galaxy Nexus 5 and the Note 3. The Note 3 is more expensive with around 150$ in my country, considering the type of contract I am getting. The phone will be used for at least one year.
Nexus 5: well, no review yet. Price is reasonable in my country and has the new 4.4. The new android version doesn't impress me. To be honest I find the google experience pretty boring but I have to admit I liked receiving fast updates on my Nexus.
Note 3: I have been reading around the forum for the last days. I saw that many have problems with the home button, the battery life, the screen issues. I like the s-pen features but I am not sure how much I'll use them.
What advice do you give me ? What should I get ?

i have galaxy note 3 but if i time returns i will choose nexus 5
Please mention your reasons. It would help me a lot. Thanks
I'm using note 3 at the moment and my nexus 5 is on its way to me, will give more accurate impression once received.
Features I prefer nexus 5 over note 3
Design look and feel (massive improvement)
No TW bloatware (another massive factor)
Easier to carry around
More regular software updates kat 4.4
No lag freezing (hopefully)
Features I will miss coming from note 3
camera not impressed at all (will miss that the most)
4k video recording
Battery life
S-pen (just a little)
Multi screens (what a feature)
Large screen
Ext memory
Have you encountered any problems with the Note 3 ? Does it lag ? Do you have that effect on low brightness for dark borders ? How does TW bloatware affect you ?
Battery wise note has 50%more juice. Home button issues - do you mean the button moving around? It is not a problem, people are too much complaining about tiny tiny things they should never find unless they read about it.
Camera - i think nexus5 is way better than n3. Its not the pixels that matter, or software options. Nexus 5 camera is next level, focus is about 10 times faster.
Bloatware yes, samsung puts 700mb of bloatware that you dont receive on nexus. Not sure if anything of that is usable. But cyanogenmod should arrive soon!
I wish note3 had the new camera and with optical stabilization, then it would be perfect!
As for 4.4 - its just a number. There will definitely arrive new android versions fast on the n3, just that you have to flash it yourself and void the warranty.

I like Nexus because:
- The design of the device and the appearance of the UI is more appealing to me. I like to keep things on my phone looking pretty "minimalistic" with few colors and lots and lots of black. I absolutely hate the Touchwiz cartoony look and I always change everything about it, the process starts immediately on first boot of the phone. Everything about Touchwiz looks awful - the icons, the menus, the choices in colors, those horrible big green quick settings toggles in the notification bar. Stock Android is much much better when it comes to looks. The Nexus 5 and its software looks like it's been designed by a design team made up of adults who actually make cohesive decisions together. Touchwiz looks to me like the school project of a pre-school class where everyone can add their favorite color and everyone gets to participate and add their touch to the design. Little Johnny wants a big blue, round icon there - OK let's put it right next to Jenny's rectangular pink icon there and add Lisa's green toggles! Fun for everybody.
I like Note 2/3 because:
- The battery is bigger. I've never been this satisfied with battery life.
- The screen is bigger. Honestly after using the Note 2, I cringe every time I use my iPhone 4 (I keep it as my spare phone) or my wife's Galaxy S III. The displays are so tiny, I don't think I could go back. Not even to a 5" display.
- I don't like the on screen nav buttons of stock Android. I want the physical menu, home and back buttons.
- The S-Pen. I'm not a heavy S-Pen user but it has really nice features on the Note 3. I use it much more with my Note 3 than I did with my Note 2.
- Memory card slot. Seriously. I could not live without one.
- Removable battery - not a big reason but nonetheless it is nice.
I hate the Note 2/3 because:
- I get to a point where I'm never satisfied with the ROM I use. New stuff is released on XDA and I feel this pressing need to try other ROMs. All the time. Sometimes it seems all I do with my phone is restoring backups. With the Nexus I think that I would be more easily able to just stick with one ROM.. Maybe even the stock ROM, just rooting it.
Don't listen to them
I just bought Note 3 after using Note 2 for couple of months
And go for Note 3 believe me this is the beast .. Note 3 Snap dragon
I am in the same boat as op.
I have a s2 now for 3 years and looking for an upgrade.
Minimum 5 inch screen, preferably a tad bigger.
Key feature should be office workability, due to a upcoming promotion as a project manager.
So I need info from all sorts of documents on the fly. Including excel.
Does the note provide this?
For free time I love playing games and viewing movies.
Help appreciated.

U may have to wait for few weeks to get the full hands on review about this. Nexus 5. The specs r good. But we don't know about battery life, camera performance, and heating issues. Note 3 is good in these areas.

I am planning on using the Note 3 with stock firmware from Samsung... because of warranty issues of knox trigger. This would also help on trying to reproduce bugs that appear on TouchWiz platform easier. So, having stock on Note3 sucks performance wise ?

Perhaps wait for nokia lumia 1520.
That's ideal for such mundane tasks. Lol

Note 3 is far better then note 2 for sure but is it the best ow no. It's a beast but not the best.
If i didn't have the Note 3 already i would be pretty tempted to buy the Nexus 5. It's half the price, here, with great hardware, Kit Kat, Google updates, etc. But those touch buttons (why?) on the screen are a no no for me.
Thank you all for replies. After doing a lot of reading on the Buyers remorse thread I see that most of note3 users are happy. The only notable problems are: very weak audio output because of the small speaker, the pink effect around black edges on low brightness settings and the wobbly home button. Also I see that the battery isn't so great.
I am really thinking what to get, as I said, the difference would be around 150$ in price.
If I didn't have N3 already I would have the N5. I had N4 previously.
N3 has plus and minus points.
+ points
Battery Life - best I ever had
SD Card - installed 64GB,some users have install 128GB.
Big Screen - I like the screen some don't like AMOLED colors.
Fastest CPU & 3GB RAM
Multi Window & Pen Window
IrDA port - can control devices from my phone.
- points
Design - not very stylish
Build quality - my back cover already creaks only 1 month old. Others have experienced Home button and screen/multi touch issues
External Speakers - embarrassing from Samsung.
Samsung bloatware - unnecessary
Wireless Charging - not built in but @ extra cost

Costum ROM
why wouldn't you just wait on xda to get pure 4.4 android and install that ROM on your note 3 ?
Hi,
the Google Nexus 5 is indeed a very good phone. Having switched from Nexus 4 to Galaxy Note 3 I can basically give you good explanations.
The Galaxy Note 3 has plenty more features than the Google Nexus 4 abd 5 which is great.
I would say the Note 3 wins everywhere against the Nexus unless you tell me you prefer smaller screen. In my case, the screen size was the reasob why I moved.
On the otherside, yes there are a lot of Samsung apps and that sucks to me. The Galaxy Note 3 can be rooted easily, so you can easy remove those bloatwares which make me feel more confortable that way.
On the other hand, I do prefer the PURE Androis that the Google Nexus has to the TouchWiz by Samsung because it uses way less resources.
The perfect phone for me would be a Note 3 with a AOSP Rom. (CyanogenMod or Android Open Kang Project (AOKP) because it would give the pure android feeling which means higher battery life, no bloatwares, faster updates.
Ok guys, some N5 reviews have appeared and to be honest, things don't look that good in battery and camera departments. Actually that was kinda expected considering the 2300 mAh battery and 1080p screen.
Now back to note 3, all the small things that bothered me (wobbly home button, pinkish black borders, bloatware) are not important anymore. The things that worries me most is the screen burn in. I saw some reviews where this is mentioned (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3mbkoXCMhs&feature=em-uploademail from 19 minute). I have own so far a Galaxy S1 and a Galaxy Nexus both having amoled screens. On my GNex sometimes I can see the keyboard shadow after using it, but I haven't really noticed any permanent retention as it goes off after a few seconds. I just did a quick check with blue color all over the screen and I can see a very faint shadow of the top bar, but nothing really noticeable. BUT, I use the phone on auto brightness and considering that Note 3 has the most bright amoled display built, I am afraid that it will suffer from permanent burn in because of blue pixels. Could anyone tell me if they have burn in ? This is a major drawback for me and might be the point which may convince me to give up on note3 in favor of N5.
Thanks all for your help. I really appreciate it.
For me it's so simple. They don't even belong to the same category.
Do you need/like the S-Pen features (and do you actually use them)? Do you need the bigger screen and the amazing Full HD @60fps video (let alone the 4K)?
If not then the Nexus 5 is a no brainer at this price point. Plain and simple.
Apps and bloatware are of no importance to me. I always remove them to my preference, to me flashing ROMs is an integral part of a smartphone like Note 3.
I agree with you, but if the screen has issues than all the other features are pointless, considering that the screen is the thing we see most.
It would be really great if owners could do some screen tests and return with the result.

Got a note 5 - back to note 4!!!!

Being an avid user of the Note series for last many years I went ahead and got myself a Note 5....I knew there were going to be some hardware related compromises (no IR port, no micro SD, no removable battery) but still made the jump looking forward to newer tech and software experience.
Well within a couple of days of using it I have been forced by Samsung to go back to Note 4 as the Note 5 is a real disappointment in many respects on usage front too.
Here is my list of disappointing aspects of note 5...things which Note 4 has and for whatever reason Samsung decided to omit from Note 5.....I think they really messed up this time around and will see a dive in sales unless they do something to fix this mess soon....may be Note 5S????
HARDWARE RELATED OMISSIONS
1. No IR Port
2. No Micro SD Card
3. No removeable battery
SOFTWARE RELATED OMISSIONS
1. Dialer - does not find contacts that are there in the phone book....when I use smart dial to look for them.
2. Dialer - shows all contacts matching the smart dial combo in alphabetical order not frequent ones first....note 4 showed frequent ones first.
3. Alarm - snooze had many options - how many minutes how many times....this only has 5 minutes 3 times
4. Email - Emails had option not to show any previews and only show sender and subject in Note 4....this has no such option
5. Email - were segregated date wise in Note 4....here they are all clubbed together
6. SMS - names with similar ending digits in the number are getting mixed up....Eg: someone with number 1234567890 and someone with number 2234567890 are showing as same contact
7. Facebook calendar doesn't sync....Note 4 used to sync facebook contact bdays to my calendar. this doesn't.
8. Bloomberg for business not working....keeps force closing
9. S-Health step count not showing on lock screen - it used to show in Note 4
Many others...
SAMSUNG - please fix all of the above ASAP else your note 5 is going to be a massive flop.....everyone looking to upgrade from note 4 to note 5 please consider above list and then decide what you wish to do.

all the software related issues you having can be easily corrected by instaling different messaging or dialer app
for this you going back to note 4 ... doesnt make sense .... didnt u likes the amazing metal and glass build and sleek looks and smooth software of note 5 ?
software can be easily correccted or we can use different apps but hardware is what we have to live with and infront of note 5, the note 4 looks like a brick and plastic toy and note 4's older touchwiz is laggy and outdated

Cannot argue on the quality of the note 5 hardware at all.... It is impressive. However I am not a fan of third party apps when it comes to core apps such as dialer or messaging. I hope Samsung fixes these issues with an update.

you mentioned you going back to note 4, so you already sold note 5 ? and where did u buy it from in first place
Its not good .. "new functions" where ? Samsung removed important functions from Note 5... for me its over with next note. My last note is 4 or maybe 6 if Samsung add back MircoSD slot and IR .
Some of the software issues you mention are irritating but not deal breakers to me. I do agree that the note 4 email and alarm apps were better (for example, marking a group of emails as unread is 2 steps when it used to be one), and some apps, like this XDA app don't allow me to create a new thread (or I just can't figure out where to find it) but so far the device itself is so much faster to me.

Yes it's an unnecessary regression by Samsung in software. I hope they fix all this by an update.

Bought it in Singapore. Not sold it as yet. Will hold on to it for a bit to see if Samsung addresses software issues

i got my note 5 on the official release date and been using it for 3 days now. I came from the original note one, the finish on note 5 and the hardware and update are no complaint.
However, i have to agree with anshkhanna saying he wanted to go back to an older version.
i also expect a new phone which i can do pretty much all the customization right out of the box, but unfortunately, it wasnt exactly the case.
i'm satisfied with the interface of my note 1, the only problem is the hardware limitation and the phone is running extremely slow.
I had two problems and see if you guys are help me to solve.
1. i copied the photos from the old phone to storage/DCIM, but the "Gallery app" can't see any of them.
2. i can't setup a custom ringtone (i was successful at first and worked for about a day, then, the ringtone changed back to default). and when i select it, the system said "unable to see as ringtone". i tried mp3, wma, ogg, none of them work, and the file can be played properly.
Help pls.

It's so funny. I had my note 4 for a while now and had totally forgotten it had an ir blaster until reading the multiple complaints on these threads about how the note 5 didn't have one.

My last few Samsung phones had it and the only time I ever used it was to mess with people at bars and other public places.
At home it's just a lot easier to use my regular remotes.

Man I'm getting old. I had to Google that. Funny.
Might i Add some more features :
1. No more resizing windows, like with Spen
2. No more multi windows
3. Dialer cannot search groups
4. Gallery doesn't look in cloud drives for photos
5. All icons get smaller like favorites in email or messaging
6. App draw doesn't scroll 360 only one way then back.
7. Samsung account backup and restore gone (cant back up rejections lists etc..)
That's what i found having the phone fore three days.
