Unfortunately, i no longer can do anything, as I no longer have access to my linux machine. And the pc im on right now is old as hell, so virtualization is out of the question.

I just read on http://www.engadget.com/2009/12/01/htc-hero-gets-a-leaked-android-2-1-rom-with-sense/ that there is a rom floating around here and alldroid.org thats running the Android 2.1 with SenseUI. Just wondering if anybody is already working on it at the moment?
yeah the hell with it, im buying another vogue again. this new stuff and the rom is awesum looking.
Cant wait till this gets ported.
Im really loving android man.
I thought it wouldnt run as clean as a custom WM rom
but its running alot smoother/faster than WM roms.

have fun. i have no way to download. i'm stuck tethering to my vogue.
anyone have split-bootimg.pl and extract-ramdisk from vogue hero?
unpack-bootimg.pl is giving me
Code:
[email protected]:~/desktop/boot$ ./unpack-bootimg.pl boot.img
Found a secondary file after the ramdisk image. According to the spec (mkbootimg.h) this file can exist, but this script is not designed to deal with this scenario.
Search for zen-droid on Google code it might still be there in depreciated.

Take out the /lib when it sets up the Library path. And make sure you don't modify /system/lib
The donut libs cause conflicts.
Im interested , but what do i do with this sysinit.rc
If any developer, (or just any person in general) needs the extracted system.img from android 2.3, I have it right here
http://www.mediafire.com/?0acuwtkc6kuw3zv
Have fun! I know infinitybiff is.
EDIT: I initially posted this in the android general section, but now realize it was a stupid idea.
EDIT 2: Just to avoid confusion, this is not a rom, this is just the sdk dump. I merely got the sdk, then used unyaffs to extract the system.img
EDIT 3: If any developer uses this and makes a rom for us, it would be nice if I could see my name somewhere in the credits for extracting this. But its just a wish. You dont have to if you dont want to.
EDIT 4: This thread just made the XDA portal front page! (Well, Darkstones post did, but thats good enough!) http://www.xda-developers.com/android/hd2-running-on-gingerbread/
And this thread also made it onto pocketnow and other android centric websites too! Awesome! http://pocketnow.com/android/gingerbread-ported-to-htc-hd2
I'm starting to smell the Gingerbread on my HD2!!!
Wow! So fast!
Uhhhmmm....gingerbread!!!! Yummy!!!!
yeah, Gingerbread comes to dady!

GingerChristmasMan
I'm anxious to have this new OS Gingerbread Maybe before Christmas I stay a GingerChristmasMan
I've seen some of the features of Gingerbread, and honestly I think Froyo packed a much bigger impact. I'll give it a test run, but I'm honestly not that hyped for it. Especially after the strides that's being made on ACE (DesireHD).

Maybe I must change something in code... but I don't know what and how...
It won't work, and it is dangerous. Just leave it, stop commenting about it and wait for a port. A LOT of the Nexus S is different.

It's a PRODUCT_COPY_FILES is malformed (vibrant_full.mk) error.
there is only 1 line that uses that command in my mk, and thats to copy over the full list of APNs.
But it does tell it to call device.mk where pretty much all of the files are copied over. So I'll have to dig through both.

it would be before. It error's out during the Lunch process. So..it goes like this. (path is a example..not the actual path to my source)
[email protected]/home/aosp/:
lunch
[email protected]/home/aosp/:
1: full-eng
2: sim-eng
3: passion-userdebug
4:...something else, cant remember
5: full_crespo-eng
6: full_vibrant-eng
[email protected]/home/aosp/: 6
error happens here.
so I don't even have a chance to run make -j4

Hey guys,
I decided to do a system dump of the latest version of the S8. This contains every part of the System Partition. I dont know if this will be useful for anyone but I hope it is. Maybe it can even help get root. Doubt it though.
Thanks to @sniper7kills for teaching me how to extract the .img.ext4 files. You the man.

Im surprised. This system dump isnt already out there?
If not. Awesome and Thanks.
Hope to see root soon!
