I asked in the irc chat to no avail.
Just wondering. It was supposed to be available to donators at the beginning of november....

A few people have it and it is still being worked on.
You have my email, why not just email to ask?
Did you want to start trouble because no one wanted you on the team and you were removed?
Since you want to know, the 5-7 people who donated towards it were asked if they wanted to wait a bit longer for it or have a refund if they did not want to wait. If you donated to it then and are not happy with waiting for it then let me have your email and paypal confirmation ID and I will be more than happy to refund you...
Woah woah woah why are you trying to start drama? I wasn't able to get any response in irc so I figured my best chance for a response was here. I was just wondering about the one click hacker because it sounds awesome. All you needed to say was it's still being worked on.
About me not being on the team, I was removed without notice. I came back one day to find my name off the website and removed from topics. I didn't do anything wrong and I didn't think people had a problem with me. I don't mind being off the team. You still provide a great product that I enjoy having access to.
I just don't understand why you would try to start trouble.

Simple Question. Would you donate $10 or so to fund the purchase of an Epic for a willing Dev? As far as I know it's feasible (Correct me if I'm wrong), we just need someone with a Epic who knows how and wants to do it.
Anyway, the objective here is to create a list of people willing to donate. We'll see if it's enough to interest someone.
So who's in?
Committed:
ipaq3115 - $10
sporkisfaster - $10+
Bohiti - $10
Neptune5k - $5-10
mttallaczach $20
sauron0101
mxcoldhit
spongaweb $15
viper134 $5
If the big guy does it himself
Pito2k6 $100
Note: I'm thinking, find a trusted dev (preferably from the CM team) and once they've committed, send mulah through paypal
Clarification: The idea is donate enough that someone from the CM team can buy an Epic and work on it.
I'm willing to donate $10 or more depending on other people's willingness.
What's so great about cynogenmod? Please don't bash me, I just don't know what's good about it.

Mainly that it uses the AOSP stuff. Much more of a vanilla feel to it with a lot more integral features than current roms can offer because of the current code available (or lack thereof).
Not really no. I'm very happy with the TouchWiz interface and I need my 4G radio working.

It definitely couldn't hurt. Try to be positive, it seems like we're at a low point in morale here on the boards and development. Maybe this is what we need to get it going again.
I would be willing to donate to the dev that gets this out. Hopefully noob will work on it again.

Step 1. Send money
Step 2. Wait
Step 3. See another dev do it for free before you ever see a single return from you vapor donation.

I would donate $10 to Cyanogen himself. Anyone else, and I (at this time!) can't be sure of their devotion.
I know we'll be sacrificing 4G, but I live in an area that won't have it for quite some time.
I would donate directly to the guy himself, if he posted himself saying he's going to take charge and actually do it.
- Its just going to be Epic!

Yeah, mainly cause CyanogenMod is legendary
But really, it's like pure android like what the nexus phones have. No carrier bloat. Since the days of the G1 it's been the fastest. The little things he adds just make it that much more awesome.

Yeah, I was thinking either him or someone he would trust to do it.

Yeah, same thing. Find someone trusted, not just anybody.
I wouldn't expect anything back from the dev. Other than the promise to get an Epic and attempt it. It is a donation, not like paying someone for the service.

I would donate $100 if Cyanogen himself says he will develop for our Epic.
I would pay $10 if we knew that it would definitely lead to cyanogen mod. Who knows if we will ever get gingerbread on this phone, much less honeycomb.
I belive the best way to get vanilla android on your phone is just to wait a little longer. The Nexus S has practically the same specs as the epic plus there is even a rumored CDMA device coming. I don't think we are very far from Vanilla Gingerbread Phone.
As far as Cyanogen is concerned, no I'm not interested in donating to buy him an Epic.
I would be willing to contribute $5-10 as well.
Whoops, wrong button. Silly xda app
Please I beg you hire the devepolers of XDA the people here are more skilled than the people y'all keep hiring off craigslist. When ever I call sprint for help I get some script reading fool that knows nothing about what's going on with there service. I can come here and get an answer within mins of asking or searching the threads. Better yet XDA get live phone support if that's possible. Its less frustration to able to talk to someone that actually has a clue of why you calling.

Send a letter to Sprint.
Good luck with that one. Carriers aren't the issue. Devs help manufacturers improve their software for free by trying to enjoy their devices at full capacity. But sure send em a letter.

all it needs is alot of bad media attention and everything is resolved
If sprint hired XDA dev it would be bad news..why?
Because then XDA devs would have to sign contracts that prevent them from doing what they are now..and also you have to remember that Sprint's goal is not the same as ours...
Sprint's goal is to load bloatware and lock as many features as possible so they can sell them to you..and with XDA dvs working for Sprint no one will be there to remove those limitations...so be careful what you wish for..

You have to remember that a lot of these "devs" just copy and paste or modify code. In order to have what you perceive to be all these great developers to be hired. The developers need to know how to code from scratch.

Exactly. I am not sure what our most talented developers do exactly, but I am pretty sure they aren't writing device drivers from scratch.
well see who the real devs are when the source code is released.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
you also have to remeber the people answering the phones dont know $hit cuz they dont get paid $****. Anyone with the knowledge of the devs here is not going to go work for $10/hr answering phones for sprint. Same at any company the "tech" people at the help/service desk know basic trouble shooting if anything at all.
This is a request more than anything. Can a dev. Please make a ucas app please, I know it won't be ready in time for me this year but for people next year it would BS a great help. For people who don't know what ucas is its the website you have to go through in England to find if you have been accepted at a uni or have an interview.
Thanks.

The UCAS website deals with a lot of confidential information. UCAS themselves would have to make this application, i'm pretty sure it would be illegal/impossible for anyone else to do so.
Unless you made an app that simply points to the UCAS website, but i'm guessing that's not what you're after.
Yeh I suppose your right. I mean its not that difficult going through the browser just would be easier with an app. Thanks anyway.

I am debating doing an article on this and making it a new "feature." Thoughts?
Junkdruggler has been active on here, and has made several quality ADW Themes you can get in the Market, free and paid. He had a little girl last night.
My thought was that it would be cool to have a place where developers could announce life's new additions and if people wanted to help them out, they could go buy an app or two in the market...
I may add this to the blog I do... do you think it would be worthy? Regardless, please go check out junkdruggler's work in the Market:
MARKET LINK
If you want to congratulate him on his new baby girl and help buy some diapers, pick up one/a few of his paid apps.

I got quoted/pictured in the WSJ today for Fathers Day. Check out the article or watch the video: LINK TO ARTICLE
