hi guys,I have a problem with flashing android on my HD2. I followed all the necessary steps apart from reformatting my SD card to get android running on it. however,no matter what build I have chosen to use.it will only boot once which is the initial booting or first time booting of android. and everything ran fine with it during the boot and load up,I could download and run apps too. as soon as I reboot my phone and reload android it will get stuck at the loading screen and nothing will happen at all. I tried just leave it there and wait for it to come around but the longest waiting time I have clocked was half an hour and I got nothing but a loading screen. any ideas? is formatting my SD any help? or is it something I missed?
Had the same issue till I copied all my files to my computer, then formatted my SD Card
After that, it all went perfectly
some builds have this issue you need to delete android.secure from the sd card before booting to android
I've had the same problem, and I've tried everything, including several versions of Android, formating card and waiting over an hour...
Then I find out that android folder must be copied on card with the files in it, like SD/Android/
not only files on SD/, like I was doing it... After that all worked fine
Just a little suggestion if you're doin' the same beginners error like me
You also need your radio to be a .50 version, not .51...
thanks a lot guys I shall try play around with my phone some more and see what happens
You can use ''android windows boot''( Multi boot).
thx aloooooooot it works with me finallyyyyyyyyyy

I have installed android rom on my sd card and it worked fine, I switched the phone off and then on again and it just keeps booting in a loop is there anyway to break in to this.
any help is needed.
regards
Have a good look at you battery oins that make contact with the battery and see if they are all aligned properly if not very carefully adjust the one that is not in line with the others. I really think your issue has nothing to do eith the SD Android you used as SD Android is very safe as far as not effecting the regular Windows Mobile OS cause it is on SD and does not touch the NAND memory wich is where the Win MO OS or what every primary OS resides.

thats exactly what happened to me whenever i tried to run android off an sd card.(which is why i didn't get a working android rom for months until nand came along)
On the few occasions I managed to get one to boot, i ended up having to hard reset winmo to escape from boot loop, which is probably what you will end up doing.
I have checked that and it appears ok but it still reboots if there is a problem would it help if I installed an official rom update from htc.
It wont even boot with the sd card out and soft reset doesnt help
thanks for the help

Yes install the updat as Android builds really have to have a 3.14 Windows Mobile ROM to work well. It will also improve your expeince with Win Mo as the 3.14 ROMs run considerably smoother.
do you have it done through clockwork? I had the same issue and I had to wipe data and cache, then it worked fine. You lose all your apps and have to reinstall them but it works. this worked for me if someone has a better method feel free to chime in.

I think the OP is using a SD card Android build and not a NAND Android ROM.
Hi,
I've searched the forums but haven't found a solution to my problem. I rooted my Nook Color (1.1.0) using auto-nooter 3.0. Everything worked fine, then I tried to flash to CM7 using CWM. When I subsequently rebooted, the Nook goes into a boot loop where it never gets past the "Touch the Future of...." display before it reboots.
I've can't get into ADB because the unit reboots before I can get access. Also tried booting into CWM (3.0.0.5 and 3.0.1) on an SD Card. When I do this, it shows the "loading..." display for a few seconds then reverts to the boot cycle. Also tried nooter 0.2 but same result.
Tried doing 8 successive boot cycles by trying to turn it off before it reboots, but no luck.
I've noticed that others have had boot issues also, but it seems that everyone else has been able to eventually boot back into CWM via SD card.
If anyone has any suggestions, I would definitely appreciate the help.
Thanks.
I experienced this exact problem and never did get it working. I was running Nookie Froyo on SD with overclock when it suddenly started rebooting. Doesn't matter if the card is in or out, it gets to the point you describe and reboots. All of the "restore to stock' tricks failed because it keeps rebooting, even when booting into CWM from SD. I ended up replacing it with another new NC and put the the first one in storage hoping I someday figure out the problem. I've never found anyone else with quite this problem. I'll be anxiously watching this thread!
Not sure whether I should start to panic because you never got it working, or feel relieved because I am not the only one to experience this issue
You can add another person who is having this problem.
Yesterday I asked Rom manager to boot into recovery and that was all she wrote.
The nook gets through "Touch the future of reading," then the screen flashes for a fraction of a second before repeating the process again.
Holding 'n' and power while booting also has no affect; and it seems to ignore whatever is in the SD card slot.
Got it working!
Not exactly how this worked but here is what I did.
First off I used another SD Card Reader Although the idea of using another card reader doesn't seem to make sense; I had seen it on another forum.
I also Used a new uSD card
Used Win32DiskImage to burn the image to the uSD card (had been using DD on a linux box)
The images used was the Clockwork Recovery image (2GB,) look around and you should be able to find it.
I also copied the removeclockwork.zip
This should be available with a google search as well
From there it just worked like it was supposed to. The nook booted off the micro SD card and I used the removecwr.zip
Hope this helps
Ok I'm having some trouble getting American Android installed. I downloaded the android folder and transferred it to the sd card folder on my phone I then ran the clrcad followed by the haret and it looks like its going well but then it stays stuck in a grey screen that says "Powered by AmeriCan Android". How do I fix this?
On my phone, I just pulled battery and started over. 1st boot is usually longer. My problem is trying to get nand going.
Ok but did you get the grey screen of death like I mentioned above?

It's not SOD, it's just custom replacement of the first boot logo (normally it's green HTC on black background) done by ACA team. dabza is right - pull the battery and start over, if it does not help try again or search the ACA thread for clues.
Also - be aware that depending on your card speed, the first boot can take up to 15 minutes (maybe longer).
Anyway, good choice, it's a great ROM, hope it works for you.

It's not stuck. First boot always takes 15+ minutes while it builds a 1gb data.img file, all subsequent boots are much faster.
Just put the phone down and come back in 20 minutes.
NAND is very simple, easiest approach will be to get all the files u need before doing anything, u need like 6 files
Radio ROM
MAGLADR
Clockwork Rec MOD
some toehr file that manipulated ur ROM size
actually rom.........5 files
its worth it, my HD2 isawesome with the Nexus rom on it

@lalabrowneyes Any more than half an hour means it almost certainly won't boot. Give us some more information. What ROM are you on? Radio version? Do other builds work? Etc.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA
Sorry I forgot to add all that stuff....
Rom Elegancia CHT2 V 2.0
Radio 2.15.50.14

Yellow XDA!
I've got this thing when trying to get a new Sense 3.0 rom. I've been looking for a good one and found that one. (Please point me to your favorite sense 3.0 ROM)
When installing, I've had some trouble with partitioning SDCard, installing a ROM (status 0 error, aborting installation)
I'm using 2.08 HSPL, MagLDR 1.13, CWM v4 & Radio 2.15.50.XX
I'm able to install a ROM (tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=733649)
But when I reboot after installing (in CWM), when it should load, it doesn't go past the Android loading screen
So It boots, MagLDR shows up, no errors, gogogo thingy, then it freezes (splash screen I guess)
I've been looking for some solutions but haven't found anything that works.
Tried other radios, CWM versions, ROMs...
I've got no idea what to do
Any help is appreciated.

Tmous or regular? If regular, do you have the 1gb ext partition set? Also, that rom will take a while to set up since it requires a lot of stuff to be unpacked onto the SD card.
I've not used that rom but I know some of the big ones take tens of minutes for first boot

I used the EU version. I did indeed (try to) partition the SDCard but when clicking advanced, partition, 1024, 0, It told me to wait, and wait, and wait, and wait, and when after like half an hour, I pulled out the SDCard, it's 1GB smaller in Windows so it should be done.
Installing works fine.
I'll try starting the ROM again & look if it works after a couple of hours.
Doesn't work. It ran all night, didn't get past the Android screen.
I ran into a similar problem. I downloaded a file from the forum called Wipe_it_CWR.zip before installing the new rom and that resolved my issue
You mean just installing it via CWM before the ROM right? Nothing else special?
Trying it now. So far, it seems like it won't work.
EDIT: Nope sorry. It's really weird.
Need some advice, phone running NexusHD2-ICS-CM9-V2.7, backed up using CWM and tried to flash nexus jellyBean by changing partirion to 400mb, phone would not boot passed cyanogenMod screen, wiped system changed back to 250mb partition and restored system but now phone will not boot passed ICS screen, have tried reflashing ROM but still same problem, any thoughts please.
I believe I should have said that the phone is in ICS animation and that is it, cannot get passed this, have tried everything apart from dropping the phone in a bucket of water. Have cleaned out everything but the restore will not work.
Is there a solution?
IMO you should try a fresh installation of whatever ROM you want: wipe everything(including microSD, but before do a backup) and install it from scratch!
Good luck!

This is getting very frustrating having checked dozens of posts cannot find a logical solution, tried every possible solution I can find. I can get into all features of system,2.08HSPL shows, CWM, MAGLDR, usb screens okay, in short everything okay bar cannot fully load any ROM past animation screen, have tried task 29 but will not load RUU just sits at HTC with bar and the has communication error. Can the the phone be bricked when all functions are available? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Can you run SD roms past boot anim?
Have you performed a NAND check from MAGLDR? Might be bad NAND blocks.
Well guys after hours of trying to sort this out I have come to the sad conclusion the phone is stuffed which has left me depressed, I have tried:
Restore from my original backup all loads good but does not bootup
task 29 (error 262) does not seem to recognise windows sync
Tried loading from cd using nbh but tri-colour boot loader will not search for file
It is a shame as I can get into all the bootloaders which people tell me should load but no luck
Thanks for your help HD2 goodby

you're probably using too big an SD card, is it bigger than 8gb?
If so, put the LEOIMG.NBH file on an 8gb or smaller card, and get into tricolor, it should load.
Yes I am using a 16gb card, in the meantime I have managed to restore the phone back to ics nexus v2.7, not sure how I did it but in case anybody has the same problem here goes'
I had to get back to WM 6.5 no matter which ROM I tried could not get the custom RUU to load, (probably due to the sd card size) but I noticed I had a custom RUU sitting on my desktop (not sure why there but probably from past messing about) as a last resort I loaded this and bingo within a short time windows loaded up and from there reflashed ICS and restored from backup, working perfectly what a relief. Goes to show ignorance sometimes wins. Details of the custom RUU used.

This worked with the 16gb card, I would like to go to jelly bean but am I pushing my luck. Can you just reload CWM with a 400 partition?
Have a nice day

I had a problem with that one, so i decided to use this one:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1584160, and i think that is working much better than Nexus.
