i installed djsteves 1.6.0 , but i dont know how to flash the recovery clockwork mod image to phone.....i used the qdltool to put rom on....but can figure out the flash part....no indept instructions on using the cmd window, step 8 to 11 on streakdroid guide,.....or is there another way to do it....like putting it on my sd card through usb
Qdl doesn't give you streakdroid. How did you get 1.6.0 without a custom recovery? Qdl will give you build 305 which is a stock pre-release build. From there follow the instructions in the streakmod thread tobinstall the streakmod recovery. Then you can install streakdroid.

i put 1.6.0 file on my sd card and went through the steps at the guide on streadriod site.....dled qdltool and other files and drivers....when booted it said 2.2 with 305
but i could not get clockwork mod on my sd so i can boot into it and install .zip from sd card clockwork
on the guide to flash boot to phone i coudnt do it.....want to find a more detailed steps on getting clockwork flashed

ok, have you got Fastboot on your pc? if so, just find it on your pc, and open up a window, then hold left-shift and right click within that window(without actually clicking on an actual file), and click on open command line(or similar) then just type in the instructions, which look to be correct.
if you dont have the android SDK installed:http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
download and install the one that is pertinent to your operating system. install it directly on C drive. then open it up, doubleclick tools, and without clicking on any files, hold in left shift and right-click, andchoose 'open command line here', then type in the commands you had in your post. Hope it helps.

Here We have the Root And CWM for Nexus 7 On Android 4.2.2!
Step 1 - Download Android SDK from the Android Developers website and install with USB drivers. See: How to Set Up Android SDK (Fastboot / ADB) on Windows.
Step 2 - Enable USB Debugging mode in your Nexus 7 tablet.
Step 3 - Download Fastboot and extract it in android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools directory. Create directory if not already there.

Step 4 - Download SuperSU v1.04 (UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.04.zip) and copy it to your sdcard on your Nexus 7 tablet.

That’s it. Your Nexus 7 is now rooted on Android 4.2.2 JDQ39 software version of Jelly Bean and even has a custom CWM recovery installed. Check for the SuperSU app in your apps list to verify.

I am a little confused about step 4 as I didn't think any nexus 7's had a SD card slot. I purchased mine right from google. I just put the zip file directly on the device itself and I know from my experience with my old Nexus One that this works too, just wondering who is selling the one with SD card slots. My second question, and really the more important one is step 7. I have tried to make the device go into fastboot several times and when I hold the volume keys down, the device boots to a black screen with no ability to do anything after that. If I mess with the power button (meaning I hold it in for a long time then let it out, and do this several times) I can get the device to preform a normal boot. Any thoughts?

Thanks a million man! I was having all kinds of trouble updating to 4.2.2 and finally figured that out. Then I was having problems rooting again until I found this. Your method worked great but I used TWRP instead and it still did the trick. Thanks again.
I tried this but when I want to flash the recovery, my fastboot.exe will then not respond and will try to close. What gives?

Just a quick note here, to enter Fastboot Mode you just need to turn the Nexus 7 off, then turn on again, soon as you see the Google logo press the Volume Down key and hold (Hold both Power button and Volume Down Key).
No need for holding the power button, the vol down button does the whole trick

re-install the fastboot with all it's extensions in the same folder!
If you want to use fastboot by a easy way, use this guide you don't need adb line command, just fastboot line command and it's an child game by this way
If you have got a problem with your adb or fastboot or recovery....it's very simply and faster
use this:
Download this file "Fastboot.zip"
Install this file somewhere in one folder which is named "fastboot" on your PC
=> disk C: root
Unzipped this file on the folder "fastboot" and you will find 3 files:
- adb.exe
- AdbWinApi.dll
- fastboot.exe
and when you need to push something by the bootloader, you can use it.
Don't forget to push on this folder the file that you need. For exemple: boot.img or a recovery.img, etc...

Yes, it is a prerequisite if you want to root your android device.
Ok, so I am running the 4.2.2 update, and after jumping through numerous hoops trying to have my device recognized by adb, I just want to make sure that my very first step should be to boot up in fastboot mode and then issue the following command...
"fastboot oem unlock"
???
Then I can go ahead and proceed to flashing the CWM recovery and flashing the SuperSU file...?

Forget about ADB when your tablet is in FASTBOOT/BOOTLOADER mode...
Here are the salient commands....

- should return a serial number to confirm your FASTBOOT connection -

- will unlock the BOOTLOADER and will WIPE and FACTORY RESET THE DEVICE; unfortunate, but necessary .

With the BOOTLOADER unlocked, begin to set up your Nexus 7 again... as though it was a brand new, just purchased tablet... ie., country, regionalization, WiFi key... etc.
Go online with your Nexus 7 browser (Chrome), and download Chainfire's SU Updater .ZIP package from here...

Upon completion of this download, shut down the tablet.

Just a quick step by step tutorial to get a Custom ROM working on your HTC One or if you just want to unlock and root!
This guide is especially for the new users, experienced HTC users should already be familiar with this process.
Step 1: Unlock
Go on http://www.htcdev.com and create yourself an account on HTCDEV.
Download these adb/fastboot files
Make a new folder on your C:/ drive called fastboot for example.
Extract the zip downloaded in step 2 to the new folder
Go Here http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/ and select "All Other Supported Models" and "then begin unlock bootloader"
Yes, Tick both Boxes, Proceed
Skip up to step 8 as we have all we need for the first 7 steps
Power off your phone by holding the power button down for 10 seconds
Power your phone on by holding power and volume down
Highlight Fastboot With Volume+or- then press Power
Plug your phone into your PC and open a Command Prompt.
(windows XP - Click Start > Run > type CMD in box then press OK
(Windows 7 - Click Start > type CMD in search box then press Enter)
Change directory to your folder where we put fastboot files cd c:\fastboot
Type this into your command prompt window fastboot oem get_identifier_token
Select & copy the text as per step 9 on the HTCDev website
Paste your identifier token into the box at the bottom and submit
You Will Very Shortly Receive an email from HTCDev with a link to the second part of the instructions and your "Unlock_code.bin" attached
Download the "Unlock_code.bin" from the email and save it to the same folder that we extracted fastboot files to in step 2
Type this into your command prompt window fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
The Display Will change on your phone, press Vol + to accept and power to confirm.
Step 2: Recovery
Download the Android SDK (optional)
Download the recovery of your choice, here a few links:
- CWM
- CWM 2
- TWRP
Place the Recovery file you downloaded where the fastboot.exe is (Either in the location of your downloaded fastboot drivers or in the Android SDK directory)
Now open the cmd and navigate to the folder where the Recovery File is located or just open a cmd with shift and right click at the correct directory
Now type:
fastboot flash recovery name_of_the_recovery.img
For example:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.2.8-m7.img
Now your recovery is installed
Step 3: Root
This step is only needed if you want a stock rooted ROM, if you want a custom ROM, skip this step.
Now root your phone with SuperSU by Chainfire or SuperUser by koush
Download SuperSU from this link or SuperUser from this link
Flash it with the Recovery:
Power off your device and then hold the VOL DOWN + Power to boot into the Bootloader
Navigate with VOL and Power to Recovery
Now flash the .zip:
- install zip from sdcard
- choose zip from sdcard
- select the downloaded SuperSU/SuperUser zip file and flash it
- Reboot now
Now you are able to flash any Custom ROM.
Step 4: Custom ROM
With htcdev unlock you need to flash the boot.img after every ROM installation
Note: Most of the custom ROMs have a script which lets the boot.img flash automatically with the ROM, so probably the steps after flashing the ROM are not needed.
If you are in a bootlop though, I recommend you to perform these steps and flash the boot.img with fastboot
Download the ROM you want to flash
Open the ROM zip with an archive manager and extract the boot.img out of it and place it in your fastboot directory
Copy the ROM to your sdcard
Now boot into bootloader again (explained above) and choose recovery with your volume keys and power button
In recovery wipe data and cache aka fullwipe before flashing your ROM if you are moving to a new base (for example from CyanogenMod to a Sense ROM, don't forget to backup your data files, like apps) (Often ROM chefs leave a note in their thread if a fullwipe is needed or not, just follow their advices)
Now flash your ROM by installing zip from sdcard
If this is finished, reboot and reboot into bootloader again
Connect your phone to your PC in fasboot mode (choose in bootloader with power button)
Open a cmd in your fastboot folder with your boot.img and type these two commands:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot erase cache
Then reboot your phone and wait some minutes to see your ROM booted

adb can't write system on stock, you would need a modified boot.img

There is no chance to brick but there is a chance for bootloop
if got the softwarw nr 1.27.206.1 with kernel [email protected]#1 - will it works with your 401 kernel?

Simply go to your adb dir and type that in terminal:
adb pull /system ./system
optional:
adb kill-server
7za a -tzip system.zip system\ -r (needs the 7za file)
rmdir system /s /q

Hello, first post!
I bought my first android phone and ofcource tried to upgrade it to Android 5.0 Lollipop using yotaphone flasher program. I ended up to a jammed android logo ->softbricked phone..
The problem was finally solved by using fastboot program. You can find it in yotaphone_flasher folder, which you probably already have if you're in this situation.
So I do not recommend trying to update OS using yotaphone flasher, I would use fastboot, it is easier than you think and above all it seems to be the safest way to update as fas as i know.

This is a walkthrough made by androidnoob. Use at your own risk:
Download yotaphone flasher if you don´t allready have it: ftp://fw.ydevices.com/YotaPhone2/YotaPhoneFlasher/
Install yotaphone_flasher.exe and use it to download the firmware.
The default folder is C: Program Files (x86) / yotaphone_flasher, in that folder you will find fastboot.exe and firmware folder.
Copy the following files from the firmware folder to yotaphone_flasher folder (same folder you have fastboot.exe), you will need them later in the updating phase:
userdata.img
system.img
boot.img
Make sure that Yotaphone 2 is in downloading mode:
Simultaneously press the power + vol down until the display reads downloading. It may take more than one reboot so keep pressing until it appears.
Connect your phone to a computer via USB Cable.
Open the fastboot.exe. You can only do it in the command prompt, so press shift + right mouse at yotaphone_flasher folder-> Choose to open a command prompt. (Now you have to press enter after every command line)
In the command prompt, type the following:
fastboot
fastboot devices
If you see your phone's serial number, the connection works.
Start wiping memory, type:
fastboot erase system -w (this will erase everything, including your user data)
fastboot erase boot
And it´s time to install the update, type:
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot flash -S 512M system system.img (For me installing in parts was a game changer. It´ll take some time so don´t panic)
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot
Yotaphone 2 will reboot. Wait 5-30 minutes, and the update is complete! Later my phone automatically updated 5.0.0-EU1.124b, so you can probably download this firmware using yotaphone flasher at the beginning of this process. I haven´t yet installed a sim so no idea if there are more issues.

Yes, you can update your phone using manual fastboot commands. For convenience, a 4pda user rewrited YotaFlasher to a more polished version, making it flash system fastboot flash -S 512M system system.img command. I uploaded the new YotaFlasher in this guide.
You saved my day, the other methods did not work, I must add that it must be exclusively with the original cable, the others still with the error of "powered by android"

Hi, Could you tell me how to install the system.img in parts? I have a 1.4gb system.img file that I am trying to install on a bootlooping Yotaphone 2.
I keep getting a "Invalid sparse file format at header magi" when I do the second step, which I think is linked to the .img being too large. But I have no idea how to make it smaller. Thanks for any help!

This is my first thread about fixing a phone's problem, I hope it helps some OnePlus One users, Okay, So the issue is that that the internet isn't reachable, Even if you can see the mobile data signal indicator (H+ or LTE). I was able to fix my friends' phone by updating the modem, And updating the OS from Cyanogen Mod 13, to the official Lineage OS 16 Rom, And to do that, Just follow my instructions, But first, You're obviously gonna have to download some files
Notelease do it at your own risk, I'm not responsible if you bricked your phone, Still I'm sure if you follow the instructions correctly, nothing bad will happen

Open GAPPS Download (make sure you select ARM, not ARM 64 from the download section)
Note: Unlocking the bootloader will wipe all data from your device (Including apps, pictures, settings, And everything , So make sure you backup all the important files.
Now follow the instructions
Make sure your phone is charged enough (50% or so) to get you through the whole process.
Install the USB drivers, And the ADB and Fastboot (You can find how to do this on the original Thread
Now you have to unlock the bootloader of the phone, To do that: Go to the main directory of the ADB that you installed, Then press SHIFT on the keyboard and right click with the mouse, And "Open command window here", Now Turn your phone off and boot it to Fastboot mode by pressing Vol+ and Power button until it say Fastboot mode, Now plug the phone to the computer, And type in the cmd:
Fastboot devices hit Enter (Your phone's serial number should show up there if the drivers were installed correctly).
Fastboot oem unlock hit Enter (wait for the process to finish).
Fastboot reboot hit enter (To reboot the phone to the system)
Next, You need to install TWRP recovery, but before you proceed, While the phone is turned on, Go to Settings>About phone, And scroll down to " Build number" and click on it 7 times in a row, Until it says "developer mode is on", Now press back button and press on developer options from the settings menu, Look for (CM Recovery Protection) and disable it, Now turn the phone off, And boot it to Fastboot mode again and plug it to the computer, On the computer, Open a command window in ADB's main directory again.
Type in CMD:
Fastboot flash recovery C:/User/where you've put The TWRP-3.3...... .img file hit enter (note: after typing " Fastboot flash recovery(space)" instead of typing the whole path to the TWRP file, you can just locate the file and drag it to the command window, And it'll automatically write the path to the file.
That's it, You can unplug the phone , Now Boot it to brecovery by pressing vol- and power button (as soon as you see the OnePlus one boot logo, Remove your hand from the power and vol- button).
Once you're in the recovery, don't touch anything, Just swipe right, Now, Take a backup of the current modem partition (just in case something worse than the internet issue comes up), To do that: In the recovery, Go to Advanced and click on Terminal, Write these commands:

dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p10 of=/sdcard/modemst1.bin bs=512 (press enter)
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p11 of=/sdcard/modemst2.bin bs=512 (press enter)
Note:Make sure to go back to the main menu and backup the current ROM too (in case something goes wrong or you don't like the Lineage OS)
Now that you've backed up everything, You need to flash the new modem to the phone, So extract the zip file that you had downloaded, It countians 8 files, Now again, Open the command window in ADB directory, Boot the phone to Fastboot mode and plug it in, And Use these commands to flash the modem files:

fastboot flash modem (And drag the file"NON-HLOS.bin" here to automatically generate the path to the file)
Repeat the process with each file, When you're done flashing those files, Type Fastboot reboot, You need to transfer the Lineage OS 16 ROM zip file, And the Open Gapps zip file to your phone's internal storage, So that you can install Lineage OS 16 via recovery.
Turn the phone Off, boot into recovery again, Go to wipe, chose Advanced Wipe, And check : Dalvik Cache and Cache and system partition, Then swipe right, Go back to the main menu, Click on Install, Chose the Lineage OS 16 zip file from the internal storage, And swipe right (wait for the process to finish) , Now go back to internal storage, And flash the Open Gapps zip file.
That's it, Now check if the internet is working while using the moble data, If it does work, Then Congratulations

Actually, not, I didn't know that ARM is different from X86, But I googled it and now I know Thank you for pointing that out to me.
