Got answer from Samsung OSRC according JPO/JPU(?) - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hey there !
I started a request to Samsung to push some Source Code newer then the current JPM Fileset - And got an answer today:
According to Samsung nothing has changed in the OpenSource Parts from JPM to JPO ! Which means everything we can get from the JPM Package on opensource.samsung.com is identical to the JPO release...
Also i nice Quote:
"As i know, new firmware is planning to release in Dec"
I guess JPU or something even newer will be released within the next weeks, look promising for me !

You arrive late...

Oops, sorry !
I guess we can close this then Anyway have a nice day !

Newest Firmware

Which firmware is the latest release? There are so many :/
I'm currently running the stock which is I9000XXJF3
Help please?
Wow.. the SGS forum support sucks compared to the Hero's.
Try the Android development forum, you might have more luck there. If you're phone is on I9000XXJF3, there's been no official update to that ROM.
You've waited 15 mins and not even posted on the right section last dev version is I9000XXJP3 it's written everywhere learn the serch form

we don't live here you know? people got real life outside of this forum
newest firmware would be the one from Bell, unless you want to count the alpha/beta leaked froyo which is on the Dev section as people mentioned
Newest release is JM5 which is 2.1
Newsest release for 2.2 would be JP3, which seems not to be usefull for every day use, at least thats what i read.
Most stable release imo is JM2
JM2, JM5 and JP3 are both unofficial releases.
Your rom is the newest official release, as far as i know.
hope this helps....

Samsung Comments on Galaxy S Android 2.3 Update

Here's a link that I found on the Galaxy S facebook page:
http://www.youmobile.org/blogs/entry/Samsung-comments-on-Galaxy-S-Android-2-3-update
This is exactly why I am member of xda, because shortly the devs here will be getting their hands on the full source code and we will have a workable ROM long before Sammy decides to NOT release the update.

[I9001] XXKQ6 "maybe fake" rumours

Hello everybody,
I post this thread here because I've got no permissions to put it on the right place (i9001 development forum). I only want to share with you something that, in my opinnion, is a little strange. Few days ago a new firmware for i9001 was released. It was called XXKQ6 and, supposily, was a new revision of the official XXKQ1. What I want to ask is why this "release" didn't appear in samfirmware.com. I've read in some webs it was a regional release but, in any case, it would be present in the firmwares relation, isn't it?
Its working very smooth on my device
i just won't install something what is not official...
i heared that it contains more bloatware...so I'm sure that I won't use it
we'll see how it works on the new broodROM RC4

There are only 2 official Roms for Note2 , 4.1.1 which is the official and leak Samsung 4.1.2 .
You can find the threads on Original Android Development and there you can see from users the changes .

But it still would be much better for all to find the info in 1 Post rather than looking in several other posts with 100 pages to find some info

Regular updates for omni-4.4.4 (FINAL)

Hi there,
I've recently updated my tablet to a custom ROM for the first time and this is my first post here, so please correct me right away if there is a better place for asking such kind of questions.
My question is specifically about omni-4.4.4 (FINAL). For now I'm not interested in the 5.1.1 branch (NIGHTLY) at all, as I'm looking for stability.
So the question: is there any kind of update policy for the OMNI-4.4.4 branch? In the light of the recently published security flaws in Android, I'd like to know more about my options. I don't mind to try to build the rom myself, provided that the source code in the branch is updated regularly.
Stagefright-Bug-Fix for Galaxy Nexus Kitkat 4.4.4 (post #2) answers the question about the forthcoming update.
Good to know that "FINAL" doesn't mean that support for the branch is over.
Entropy512, do you make any kind of announcement after the source code has been updated? I'm just wandering what is the best way to follow the process.

We'll make some sort of announcement when it happens.
I have the day off Friday and will hopefully be far enough ahead in the apartment-cleaning process to work on this.
