How do I move files or apps to the SD Card? Can't find where to do this. I know it is probably simple but can't seem to find.
Do you want the source code?
Or, how to do it?
You can Move Apps by going: Menu->Settings->Apps->Manage Apps->Select App->and Move to SD.
Only on 2.2, i think.
Thank you that is what I was looking for. Just couldn't seem to find it.

I know this might have been posted and probably has but i simply am not getting it to pull up on the search function. I am upgrading my root G1's Micro Sd from a 2gb to a 8gb or possibly 16gb as I tend to want to keep a lot of music on it. If I upgrade the SD do i simply partition it to Fat32 and then copy my files over or does something else need to be done? I simply do not want to screw all my stuff up b/c i am not thinking about some aspect.
Thanks in advance for any and all help as i am just trying to be safe. Do not want to screw up my root/phone or anything with something like this.
Have you done the apps to sdcard? If not then yeah you can just copy the contents of the old card over to the new one and use it.
No i have not done Apps2SD yet as it was unneeded as of so far. I have also wondered about the safety of such. If the phone were on and the SD card were to come out i would imagine some damage could be done. Once i get the bigger SD then i might do it.
First post. I have A7 Dex mod 1.41. Should these apps (Apps2SD or ApptoSD) move the selected app to external sd card automatically? After uninstalling the selected app from internal stg. I have to manually cut/paste to external sd card and reinstall. It must be easier than that.

Yeah I have been trying to figure that one out too. I am using the free version. When I go to the list of moveable apps I do not get the option of moving any of them. If I hit the settings button I do get the option to "move all," but none of them move. I really dont want to move all of them anyway, just my less used apps.
How do you move them from the internal memory to the SD card? I did check a few other forums but couldnt find much.
Thanks!
The current kernel from the official firmware and the custom ones like Dexter one don't support app2sd feature.

Apps2SD/ApptoSD
Ytain, Thanks for the info. ooorah
is there a way i can have all my apps on to my storage card its a 32gb unkown class. i know there is a built in method but it doesnt work
reason is i am safe strapped and would like to have all my apps on to my sd card so i can flash a rom, then i can instill the apps on to my phone. i may not be in places where i can download most of my apps. or even better have different rom slots and access the apps from the sd card.. in other words just the apk files.
plus what else am i going to use to fill up space. i have 5 roms and going to be updating more roms to the list as i find them.
i still have to delete my bloatware (i know what to delete) off the stock once i get this figured out so maybe i can get 2 roms out of the phone
thank yall for your time, and helping me with this,
any ideas, or things i can try?
Trying to find an answer before I buy this phone. Is there a non-rooting option that will let me download music/save photos/store movies straight to a microsd card? If not, which rom do you recommend?
I have never rooted before btw.

Everything works better with root. Root just means that you have permission to modify system settings and files.
Kitkat, the latest version of the OS tightened security and no longer allows third party apps to freely write files anywhere on your SD card. Now they have to stick to their own directory on the card. This breaks or at least restricts what older apps can do.
But you should be able to find a newer app that does the things you asked about.. as long as the app has been updated to the new method of keeping all of it's files in one directory tree.
If you have root, you could change or remove those SD card restrictions.

This has NOT been fixed since Marshmallow...you can't write to any folder in EXTERNAL SD. I'd just simply like to use my damn card as I see fit, same as the other legit SD fixes for Marshmallow and other versions. I'd be willing to pay good money if there's a way to enable system-wide access to the sd, without having to depend on the app including support for it. MANY apps that kick ass would support it but kick out the error that I can't write to sd. Any help? THANKS!!!!
