can't boot past white screen can't recover (rooted) - Droid Incredible General

Hi everyone I have a rooted Droid incredible, I don't believe I have an SLCD screen (b/c my clockwork mod recovery isn't black and white lines)
My phone is 2.2 rooted with unrevoked 3.22.
Everything was fine until I tried installing cyanogen mod 6.1 stable tonight.
I backed up with clockwork before I tried installing the zip but something went wrong, after installing the zip from clockwork mod all it said was "welcome to cyanogen mod" "install from zip complete" or something... I rebooted and hung up at white HTC incredible screen.
So I tried to recover from clockworkmod but it said MD5 mismatch so I attempted to do a factory reset, didn't work, I formatted system and such and that didn't work.
I searched for the MD5 solution and found this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=846280&highlight=mismatch with a solution of
adb shell
# cd /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/2010-12-13.04.08.44
# rm nandroid.md5
# md5sum *img > nandroid.md5
after doing that my phone says
"checking md5 sums...
erasing boot before restore...
restoring boot image...
error while flashing boot image!"
it used to just say
"checking md5 sums...
md5 mismatch!"
so that fixed that... I think when I formatted I deleted a bunch of system files.
How can I use clockworkMod to flash the neccessary system files I need to get my phone back up and running?
Please help I can't return this phone I know its not a lost cause since I'm rooted and have the ability to run clockworkMod recovery still

Might be best to d/l the latest from shipped roms, flash it and start from scratch.

Problem Solved, (5 a.m. oh well)
I followed this thread.
incredible forum dot come /forum/htc-incredible-hacks/5723-how-get-back-complete-stock-s-off.html
1) Formatted my SD card to FAT 32, make sure you do that. SD cards usually come in regular FAT format. not 32
2) Turned S-On with unrevoked forever s-on.zip
3) Download the PB31IMG file he has listed, it is the current system img files and boot files and everything! Puts you back to complete stock
4) Ran unrevoked3 to get root back.
5) Ran cyanogenmod 6.1 stable zip from sd card from rom manager.
That's it, completely bricked phone back to right where I was trying to be 7 hours ago lol fully functioning and back in business (sorta).
(my cyanogen mod boot animation is in a continuous boot loop, lol wtf... i'm goin to bed ugh!)

Step 5 solution*
Running CyanogenMod 6.1 from SD card from Rom Manager app put me in a continuous boot animation loop.
Going into Hboot and running the zip from the sd root again re-installed it and it loaded properly. All is well.

PLEASE HELP(myTouch 3G keeps rebooting)

Ok so I followed cyanogenmods wiki page on how to root and flash his rom to my MT3G(with the exception that after i flashed the DRC83 base zip file the phone rebooted automatically so I went into recovery mode as soon as it happend and flashed cyanogens build) and the phone booted up fine. the little android skater and everything. everything was running smooth(NOTE I DID NOT DO THE 10MB hack) but i tried setting up wi-fi and the phone just restarted. i thought it was probably the first time boot thing people talk about. but then the phone randomly turns off and on while doing diffrent things(such as download apps from market ... texting a message) so i tried flashing another ROM and same thing is happening(dwangs super d rom). is there a reason for this. the guide didnt mention having to change any SPL's or radio's or anything but I keep seeing this around the forum that it has to be changed. is there a guide on how to do that and if so why doesnt CyanogenMods own wiki not mention it?
do u have 32a or 32b?
the 32b. i have the original mytouch 3g

(im assuming you downgraded to 1.5 using sappimg.nbh from hboot mode, then rebooted and installed flash_rec, backed up image, and then flashed amon ra's recovery image correct?)
so if you did all of that,
do a wipe and then flash DRC83, after that reboot phone and check to see if you are getting any uncommanded restarts. if you are not then reboot into recovery and flash your rom.
what rom are you exactly trying to flash?
My mytouch 3g also got constant reboots, regardless of whether I was actively using the phone or not. This happened with cyanogenmod and with another eclair ROM, but does NOT happen with Enomther's TheOfficial rom. I switched back to that and fixed the problem. I don't know what was causing it for me with the other roms, but it happened fairly consistently every 1-3 hours.
OK CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME IF IM DOING SOMETHING WRONG HERE ILL DO A STEP BY STEP
-COPY SAPPIMG FILE TO SDCARD
-HOLD DOWN VOLUME DOWN AND POWER AND PROCEED WITH UPDATE
-BACK TO STOCK 1.5
-DOWNLOAD APPMANAGER
-MOUNT SDCARD AND COPY FLASHREC 1.1.3 APK FILE AND recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.6.2G-green FILE(CARE BEAR FILE)
-ALLOW UNKNOWN SOURCES TO INSTALL
-INSTALL FLASHREC
-BACKUP FLASH
-TYPE /SDCARD/recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.6.2G-green.IMG
-REBOOT IN RECOVERY(PROBLEMS START. RECOVERY MODE RANDOMLY KEEPS REBOOTING.SOMETIMES AFTER ONLY A COUPLE OF SECONDS)
-OPEN BATTERY COVER AND AND TAKE OUT SDCARD AND PUT IT IN SD ADAPTER AND CONNECT TO MY MAC
-COPY THE ROM I WANT TO USE WHICH IN THIS CASE IS SUPERD193 WITH 10MB RAM HACK
-INSERT SD CARD BACK INTO PHONE AND MANAGE TO WIPE AND FLASH ZIP FILE.
-ROM LOADS UP AFTER AWHILE BUT SEEMS LAGGY
-OCCASIONLY WILL REBOOT FOR NO REASON BUT NOT TO MYTOUCH LOGO BUT RATHER ANDROID SPLASH LOGO WHICH IN THIS CASE IS SUPER D ANDROID WITH ELECTRICTY.

Phone wont boot any clockwork build help

Dont know if this is the correct forum to post but here it goes,
phone has MAGLDR 1.11
clockwork 1.1
originally flashed jdms 1.6 nand and was working perfectly
i tried to add the files from the updated clockwork 1.2 booted up clockwork as it normaly would, backed up my current system through through clockwork, i downloaded and put the updated version of jdms 1.7 beta and it would just bootloop, read that i needed a partition and i did it through clockwork, still bootlooped but it woped my sd card's contents with the partition, tried reformatting sd card added a new rom to start from scratch and it just satys at the htc logo or the android on rollerskates logo, tried putting the recovery image had back and it said it couldnt recognize md5 sum so it wouldnt do it. ive tried three bulds and all of them get stuck at the htc or cyanogen screen, i am doing all this from ubuntu, do i need to just start over and reflash through DAF? i dont have access to a windows machine so it will be a while, anybody have any suggestions? im phoneless at the moment, thanks in advance
Wipe cache after restore.
When bootloop, restart phone, start Clockwork mode - wipe cache.
Then restart phone.
Sent from my HD2 running Gingerbread
Tried that, didn't work still stuck on HTC quietly brilliant screen just flashed raidroid HD build
anyone has any advice?
Same Issue
I have the same issue of a bootloop... this seems to be the only place i could find with someone who is having a similar issue as i am.
Steps ive done:
Used Task29 w/radio 2.08.50.05 first.
Ive installed HSPL3
Ive also installed MAGLDR 1.13
Ive partitioned the SD to 13 gb FAT32 and 1 GB Ext3 --- both in primary
Ive flashed recovery 400
installed recovery files onto sd directly
I added the zipped CMYLXGOroms.stock.desire.HD.v1.1.5n.NAND.RMNET.NO-SQUASH-RAFPIGNA.1.7OC_CWM file directly to the SD card root.
then I install the CMYLXGOrom and it installs correctly, and then it boots up, and i see the android welcome screen for a second, and it starts its bootloop.
I've tried this with several differnt roms that are for the 1024 LEO but I get the same result each time.
Any help would be much appriciated!

Help With new RED "cwm-recovery-ALL"

Hi
I am having a tuff time with all the new CMWs. here is my story
Ok so I had froyo DL30 and the new EB01 was leaked so I wanted to update to that. I tried going to CMW and for some reason it was not loading, I was stuck in the blue screen. I came here to the forums to find answers to my problems and found the thread with the new red cwm-recovery-ALL so I flashed that with odin and it seem to work at first, but when I wanted to flash a .zip it would no let me. it kept says it could not mount the sd card.
I decide to go back to completely stock with odin, then I flashed DL09 and then I flashed EB01modem.tar with odin also but I used the CMW that was made for DL05 and DL09. I tried booting into recovery and again could not get pass the blue screen. I tried several update.zips on my sdcard root and found one that worked, it was sitting in my clockworkmod folder. I dont know why it worked but it did and it took me to red clockworkmod. everything in there worked so I flashed jts superclean 2.4 and some batt mods. All those flashed correctly and was able to upgrade to EB01 and jt super clean but the CMW no longer works. It outomatically goes to re CMW (no blue screen) and again it tells me it cant mount sd card.
If someone has an answer to this please let me know, I am desparate. thankfully I got what I wanted form CMW before it stoped working.
I wished everyone gave odin files along with the zips so people have options on how to flash. personally I love odin over flashing CMW.
Thanks.

Been having the same issue, im going to use your exact method when i get it to work ill post my solution to you.
btw you can mount the card by, going to cwm, then advanced, the hit reboot recovery. you should be set.
Have you seen my thread?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957132
It has all the steps to fix recovery but this is the red recovery which will work with both voodoo and non-voodoo. It seems to be working well for people if you follow all of the steps. You have to do more than just flash cwm-recovery-ALL via Odin.
Got it! fool proof!
put http://db.tt/kWmVm4F at the root of sdcard, call it update.zip
My steps, went to download mode, reverted to dl01 (stock) package.
After reverting i went straight to download mode and proceeded to odin this file http://db.tt/6dZUc7d (thanks jt!).
then after reboot i went directly to recovery mode, it took me right to red cwm. I then flashed a custom rom (super clean 2.4) and a custom voodoo eb01 kernel. I think this step is key to the process. Also applied update.zip
After this i went back to download mode and odined the eb01 modem, then booted to android.
After all this i put my device into usb mode and copied http://db.tt/kWmVm4F (thanks again jt!) putting it on the root of my sd card, naming it update.zip.
Lastly i copied it again to my clockworkmod folder on my sd card and renamed it "recovery-update.zip"
Booted to recovery installed things (zips) no problem.
Hope this helped!

yes I did and I followed it, the problem is that i started with the red CMW then i followed your guide, but I cant flash anything because I cant mount the sd card

I will give this a try but I am afraid that if it doesn't work I might not be able to update to EB01 if i cant mount the sd card.

what update.zip did you flash the first time?
currently following your steps and hoping that step is not completely necessary
Update: hahahahaha i guess doing this at 2:30AM is not the smartest idea, i completely missed the first sentence lmao right now.
Update #2: ok i followed the following steps
1-put http://db.tt/kWmVm4F at the root of sdcard, call it update.zip
2-reverted to dl01 (stock) package.
3-straight to download mode and proceeded to odin this file http://db.tt/6dZUc7d (thanks jt!).
4-directly to recovery mode, it took me right to red cwm.
after i get to rec cwm it starts giving me the same old problem, cant mount sd card. any ideas? about to trow phone against the wall
what odin package are you using to revert back to stock?
also this is what i get when i try to choose zip file
finding update package
E:cant mount /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0)
(invalid argument)
E:cant mound /sdcard
I went to the mounts and storage menu and tried mounting sdcard from there, it gave me the following
E:cant mount /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0)
(invalid argument)
Error mounting SDCARD:!
also not sure if you noticed but you have links to the same zip file twice once in your fist sentence and then again after you flash EB01
update 3
I am thinking it might have to do with the way my sd card is formatted, i remember formatting it a while ago so i can boot honeycomb form sd and then formatting it again (had some partition problems) but it has been use with cwm since then but you never know. does anyone know how should i format my sd card.
This isn't a mod release, a feature request, a howto, a rom, etc. You seem to be lost. You must have mistaken this for General

[Q] "Error while backing up boot image!" CM recovery 3.0.2.4

Hi there. Thought I'd finally get around to rooting my Glacier, making progress but hit a roadblock.
ROM Manager app is stuck on "Error while downloading from server.", so I flashed clockwork recovery 3.0.2.4 with fastboot shell, ROM Manager still thinks recovery isn't installed and gives me the same download error when I try to manual override.
In recovery, attempting to start a backup gives me the error in the title, that is, "Error while backing up boot image!" and halts.
I could probably continue on to flashing cyanogenmod 7 and gapps, but I'm not comfortable doing that without a backup handy.
Android ver. 2.21, eng SPL (85.2007), 3.0.2.4 ClockworkMod recovery.
Can anyone help?
If it were me, I would download a fresh copy of CWM from here and flash it via fastboot. I bet then you'll be able to successfully make a Nandroid. If not, try formatting your SD card.
Downloaded that and re-flashed to no avail. Backed up SD card, formatted it, and for some reason it started working then.
Ah well, at least I have a backup. Thanks!
Had an odd error with the md5 checksums changing, too.. pushed them with adb, used md5sum, they were correct. Rebooted into recovery and they had changed again. Had to push and verify from recovery in order to install.
It ended up working though, so no complaints.
The easiest workaround I found to this problem was to boot into recovery mode using Quick Boot and follow these steps in the cwm boot screen: apply update from sdcard, install /sdcard/update.zip, reboot into recovery, backup and restore, and BACKUP. Worked for me and I didn't have to reformat my sd card, deleting everything on it.
Hi,
I would like to remind you that, CWM v3.x above are no longer support amend scripting which is used in Froyo ROM. Instead it used edify scripting which is used in Gingerbread ROM.
When you are on Froyo and try to use the latest CWM, it will not work, and you will encounter a problem just like you said.
My self, i use the CWM v.2.5.x, on my fascinate, and it can make backup successfully, although i never try the restore function yet.

[Q] u800 Ideosx5 (greek) suddenly bootloop, cannot find /data

So the night before yesterday before going to bed i connect my ideos to pc and left it charging and went for sleep.
When i woke up i realized that the phone is dead.
Going into recovery tryed to flash my rom again, the process finished really quick
reboot stacked at ideos screen.Cannot format /data.
So reboot ,bootloader purple screen trying to copy my original image, seems ok.
Reboot, nope clockwork again.Boot loader once again same files not my original.
Shift delete recovery image ok,copy original image ok unmount remove usb reboot.
Clockwork again.
Trying to format image drive from windows "Drive is busy"
Connecting to Linux system at bootloader giving a lot of drives.Unmount Image format ok,copy original image ok.Reboot ... clockwork once more.
So one idea that i have is that i have a partition around 600mb which is ext ,and i wonder if the /data is that partition and maybe needs format it fat32.
Any help and ideas would be appreciated.
Using latest cm7 from geno with stock kernel with no problems.
Greek Ideos.
Cheers
Tryed to flash stock firmwares like Overseas b136 and another two all failed to update at the second part. Also i tryed with Genos repartioning tools failed,to be honest didnt try the one wich needs three flashes to restore stock partitions i ll try it later today.
