Probably a more effective and more personal way to show your thanks is to use the new 'Thanks' Button on each post. This will record your thanks directly against the person you are thanking and gives then a permanent record of it - the Thanks Bar on upper left of each post under the person's name will reflect your thanks for posterity and in a way that isn't just dependent on people seeing this thread.
Bear in mind you only get five thanks per day - nothing to stop you giving out more thanks tomorrow though.

Its nice to see someone took the time to read through and learn how to do things instead of posting useless questions that have been answered countlessly . XDA is amazing, and the people on here is what fuels this hobby.

A Big Thanks.....

I read alot of posts and see other Software Developers out there thanking A_C for help on "this or that". What a great community! A_C has built three great apps that make my phone both fun and very convenient. I just wanted to say THANKS too A_C and all the other Devs out there that have the skills to do what I cant, and make my WM Phone Great! Please keep up the good work, I really dont want an IPhone!!
Really, Thanks!
A Big Thanks
To Dot Fred To.
Don't know how i would have survived without some of his Apps.
His Taskmanager, Softkey Applet And Administrative Tools.
Now all must Cooks or Use for me.
(Still Big Upps for AC not stating the better man here)
Hey if you start a Big Thanks Thread, except Big Thanks.
Dont get me wrong, I only meant to send Big Thanks to each and every Dev. out there making my phone great!
I just added my thanks.
It would have been a waste if it where a thread with only one post.
It has some potential.

Lets thank the moderators also

WE ARE ALWAYS HITTING THANKS BUTTON FOR DEVELOPERS BUT TRULY MODERATORS ARE DOING ALSO EXCELLENT JOB
COME ON EVERYONE LETS HIT THE THANKS BUTTON FOR
dharvey4651, leepriestenator
FOR WORKING HARD.
I appreciate the initiative my friend. Knowing my work here is appreciated does mean a lot.
But....... Once again, this is not a development thread and so belongs in General Discussion. This time, HD2 General Discussion since it's not Android related either.
Gonna move the thread but leaving a redirect for the time being.
hooray for the mods, cheers

yes of cause they deserve big thanks from us. We always grateful to the developers, moderators and whoever helps to achieve the target.
This thread is really something I've been waiting for. Since I bought my hd2 this site has been my daily journal. I've learned so much about something I've never heard about, that is: this community. Although in every single thread there may be some illiterate, there was never a lack of information. This is a joy for me, even not having anyone around to share the experience with, being afraid of robbery or envy. I had the opportunity to experience more platforms than my notebook is able to deliver me, and it was more expensive than my phone. Now we have the beginning of NAND and so much joy ... how can I evaluate my phone if it is just as I want it to be? I just have to login, pick a shelve, download, follow all the instructions without wanting to make it easier on me, that is, being a smarta** and check for the recurrent issues. Most of the time I stay with the "thanks" button, sometimes the problem seems to be different than all, so I report it, that's all... No fuss. Following this simple instructions I have found the best suiting ROM for my needs and I ready don't care what other people think about, its my phone still. So this is a big THANK YOU, other than HELP ME (that we are all used to), for the incredible existence that all developers, moderators, guinea pigs, etc, have put into it. You should be proud!
THANK YOU, so many times as this can still go on.
PS - When I have enough money, I'll get everyone here to have a beer in my bar!

only handful of thanks to moderatorscome on ladsssssssssssssss they also deserve the thanks for the hard work they doing
To be honest, I haven't noticed any moderator's work except for moving wrongly placed posts.
The fact that they tend to be invisible and not the heavy-handed type is the thanks that I offer them.
I am distinguishing between a moderator doing a moderator's job and the same moderator posting help and advice.
Yeah you guys really thanks!!
People say that facebook is like a refridgerator, you keep on checking it even though you know that there's nothing new. I must check XDA around 40 times a day - is that absurd or what?! i love this website!

Thank you developers

I am creating a thread because I don't know how I else can show my gratitude.
But I just want to thank all the developers that give us these ROMs. Its amazing how much work and effort you put into development just for us! A simple thank you is no way near enough.
I don't understand why some people (fortunately, just a few) complains over bugs, WLODs etc. - considered the many hours being put into it and given it away, we should be thankful even if the phone can't be turned on.
At the moment I am running Wolfbreak's ROM v. 054 without any issues at all! The battery lifetime is just mad!! 88% after +10 hours. For me, that's way better than SE 2.1 stock!
Again - Thank you
Yes very good job! Congratulation to jerapela wolfbreak zdzihu and all other who give us a perfect xperia x10!

Just an idea: by throwing some bucks their way!
I totally understand that times are hard and there are not plenty of money
to spare, but I bet each one of us can provide a dollar or two.
Awesome.. i'm sure the dev's appreciate it.
Yes XDA has given many new wings..

In my case - with Wolfbreaks amazing work, I've saved many 100$ (2000-3000-4000 Danish Kroners) by extending the life og my X10, instead of buying a new phone - so throwing a couple of dollars his way, is the least I can do, so I will definitely do that.
I believe that might be the case for many of those using ROMs by zdzihu, trip, jerpelea etc.
XDA provides the 'thanks' button feature for this. I'm sure no developers are gong to read these threads as a new one gets started daily. All this really does is clutter the forums with threads that help nobody. I know the XDA app doesn't have the thanks button (it should!) but if you want to thank them bad enough to start a thread how about opening the browser and thanking them officially instead, that way its actually reflected in their profiles here.

Of course I could "just" use the "thanks" button - but I felt that starting a thread and writing a few words of my gratitude was the right thing for me - regardless of the devs reading it!
I don't believe that starting a thread and say thank you is a wrong thing to do

Just a quick ? about saying "Thanks"...

Ok so basically, this is a rant for all forums not specifically this one...but I've noticed in a lot of the threads I read through people asking this or how to do that or can someone do this or where can I find that...now imagine how easy it is to click the thanks button the forum developer put on posts, hell even saying thank you in the thread??? Alot easier than it was for someone to take the time to answer your question or help you out?
I see this all the time on all the forums...
So why is it that most people don't do it?? Serious question? Has it come down to just being a gimme gimme gimme world? And trust me with 6 kids in my house I understand that...but my 2 year old neice says bless you when you sneeze or thank you for whatever reason it is deserved??
So why is it that some grown ass men or women or even teenagers on these forums can't even say thanks? Lol. That thanks button is there...well atleast my view on it...so that when someone gives me advice or a suggestion I see they have been thanked umpteen times or however many times and I'm like well this person seems credible? And it may not seem like it to everyone, but to me it kind of makes you feel good that you helped someone and they took the time to thank you Seriously people...we need to start thanking those that deserve it!!
And again this was a rant for all the forums I frequent not this one, not any specific thread, and not about me getting thanks because I dont care if I do or don't...I'm not a Dev, I'm not a Themer, I'm just a guy that visits forums and passes along info and knowledge I've recieved from people that I have thanked
And this will be on the other forums I frequent also since not everyone is on XDA
Thanks for reading
Now what are your thoughts
Edit** And for those that say I use forum "X"s app and there isn't a thanks button but I thank later from a computer, this isnt about not getting thanked right away...just not getting thanked at all **
I think people asking those questions over and over don't even know it...
If it was a little more in your face they would probably press it like after you reply it should ask ...would you like to thank?
Thank you!

This is the part I agree with the most. Even from the phone, hit menu on the XDA app, browser, and thank the person helping you.
Thank you...I too get a little irked when you spend a couple of days working with someone, fix their issue and then they are gone. BTW I thanked you!
Honestly, I liked XDA better when there wasn't a thanks button, then people wouldn't complain about it being used

Thats a great suggestion but I think then people would complain about it being in your face, like trying to make you thank someone. Which you never have to do. You aren't required to thank anybody...
That's why it makes people feel good when they are actually thanked Because you actually took the time to let me know I helped you

Thanks for sharing your opinion and that is one of the exact reasons for this post...the lack of the common courtesy!

Appreciate your honesty but again in my post I said it's not about the thanks button not being used
Even though I can point out I don't know how many posts in a single ROM thread that a person has an issue or question and it is answered or solved and like stated above...they are gone ...it's not about the button...but the lack of the common courtesy of saying thank you
*thanked for your honesty
IDK, one of my biggest pet peeves are people who are like panhandling for "thanks". The people who say "don't forget to thanks if I helped you" and things like that. To me its a meaningless number under my username. I guess its nice knowing you helped someone by them "thanking" you, but 99% of the time that I help a person, they actually write out a comment to me thanking me for helping them.
Yea, its a rude move not to thank a person that is helping you, but I don't help people for thanks. I help people because if I know something that can help them, I can make their day/life a tiny bit easier and then someone else will do the same for me.

That's exactly it! It's not about the thanks button lol Everyone is refering this to that lol
I only referenced the number because like I said...why is it really there? I think to let others know that you've been a help to someone previously....
It's about the lack of the common courtesy
That's why in my sig it says if "someone" has helped you not me! lol If you say thanks in a post back great! If you click the button cool! Just thank the person helping you somehow!
Edit: And thats another thing its about paying it forward I'm always helping people on the side of the road, or getting off the top of their cars during a flood...But unless they thank you how do you know that you helped them?
Edit: Maybe I should change my sig to say Thank them not hit the button

Your sig is great. People should thank those that help them and giving people a general reminder is a good thing.
Part of not getting thanks is xda's 5 thanks per day and the other part is people prefer the app when the browser works quite well....its all I use to post and I always post from my phone.

Yep, I do 99% of my XDA browsing on my phone. That app is too nice.
give thanks
I give thanks when thanks are do and honestly it does not have to be through a button nor in a post typically i will direct pm the person i am thanking and do so that way even for something small.

Even better,unlocked
Yes i've understood that but ... what does this actually means ... Does it means that we can get things that were "beyond the many BRILIANT DEVELEOPERS" hard work for porting and repacking them from other roms to get them work on our tiny little device
it meens we can have a overclocked GPU and fully functional roms, example; Sense!
Thanks a lot .... now the problem is to built that ROM .... we can hope that Racht hasn't leaved his thread about the Sense roms
Racht is busy with other projects right now, But DX will most probably take over knowing he can easily create a fully working sense
Come on ... Lets not force them to do that ... the main goal is that the bootloader has been unlocked and everyone who has knowlage to do roms (like Dx,Racht ... and everyone who has that knowlage) please be so kind, about making just ONE PERFECT ROM (Like the many frequent updates before that )
Cheers and good luck Everyone!
Did my eyes sees right? Bootloader unlocked ?! Well done developers!

Why create a new thread with an irrelavent title when there are 2 threads already for this purpose in the general section? Please try to keep all BL releated comments in the proper threads so all info is in 1 place, this will make it a lot easier for people to find information.
I'm sorry for the useless post Thanks anyway for informing me but there was only one thread about that I'm not trying to make some argues Please delete the thread!
Thanks anyway for the information!

Sorry if i came across as rude, I'm just trying to make information easier to find for everyone
I do understand and that's why i don't want to argue btw now we have a cracked bootloader and a group of perfect developers (i am interested also about developing but i don't have any time to look at myself what about developing ) isn't this the perfect time to let them make something extremely BRILLIANT i am suggestting that the Android Thread should be locked and used only from the devs not from everybody (trolls, spammers and other from those which will make the work slower) anyway keep it up guys )
