Unable to root after update to 2.3. Could use some help - Droid X General

I was rooted when I applied the latest verizon ota update. After the update I had lost root. I tried rooting using Z4, but I can only attain partial root (Titanium Backup works, but Wireless Tether, SetCPU and Root Explorer don't).
Does anyone know what I can do to reapply full root, or did Verizon and Motorolla **** us all again and now we have to wait for someone to come up with a new method for root access?

I was able to root again w/o a problem. The only thing is that it took long time.

[Q] How do I go about updating to 4.4 without losing my root in the end?

the 4.4 OTA just finished downloading. I want to update IF I can keep my phone rooted in the end after updating it (My battery life pretty much depends on Greenify now). Can I update my nexus 4 safely without unrooting it? or do I have to unroot, update, and then root it again and is there a complete guide to this?
I am still on the stock ROM 4.3 Jellybean.
As far as I know it's impossible to keep the phone rooted after a firmware upgraded.
Just upgrade to 4.4 and than root it again, simple as that.
There's an option in SuperSU application, "Survival Mode".
By using this, you would be able to keep the Root intact on OTAs.

[Q] Is there a way to install Xposed w/out triggering the root check on VZW VS980?

I want to keep my LG G2 VS980 on Verizon on the stock ROM. I know you can install hacks or patches for the hotspot to work without Verizon's approval without doing a full root.
I was reading about how to root and the guide I found says that the phone has a switch so Verizon can tell if you've rooted which voids your warranty. The guide I was reading also mentioned that the G2 can be placed in a special mode that give ADB root without flipping this switch. Would I be able to install the hotspot patch and other apps such as Xposed using this special ADB mode without tripping the root check and going full root?
If I could install the hotspot patch, Xposed, and AdBlock Plus in the system without having to trip the root check that would be great.

If you are talking about stock file manager app, it does support root elevation, use another file manager that supports root (ie ES File Explorer or Root explorer or whatever, they all do more or less the same). Please note that root mode doesn't come turned on by default, you'll have to dig on the setting of the app that you have chosen and find out how to turn it on

**problem with root**

I have a 3 year old galaxy s7 edge. And recently i tried to root it, and i think i didn't succeed in that completely. Because with root checker my device shows its rooted. But my supersu got disappeared after couple of hours. And i tried to install other root managers (king root) but now i cannot get root access to any apps.
My device is still rooted as per root checker. What should i do now? How can I unroot the device?
Which rom are you running?
And is a custom recovery installed on your phone?
Ultimately you want to unroot your phone?
Just want to do some banking
Stock android 8.0. And i haven't installed any custom recovery either. This is not my daily driver. This was my brother's old phone. So i haven'tdone any thing interesting to this device. I was simply using this for a second sim card only. Now i want to do some banking transactions from this phone and those apps doesnt let me from a rooted device. Is there an easy way to unroot this? Or an easy way to hide the root for the apps to work?

Need help with app that is demanding unrooting.

Hi!
I have issue with app on my S7 Edge that demands me to unroot. I rooted my phone 5 years ago or more and I don't remember a thing about it. I did this to permanently remove bloatware. Only way I know to unroot is to flash stock-rom again but I don't want to loose my hard effort on debloating + data and so on. Is there any tricks for that? Like hide/remove su binary? I really don't remember where to start. Also with factory reset or something I cant remember I lost root access partially - that is apps can still tell that phone is rooted (root checker tells that root access is available but then also orange warning that root access is not properly installed on this device). But they can't request root privilege for some reason. But I still have this custom recovery rom installed where I have basically root access to phone - do you think I could use this to somehow hide temporarily root from my app that is complaining about it and then later restore root to the full - that is to make apps able to request root access again? I would like to keep my apps/data and I remember them getting lost in process of rooting due to some samsung encryption crap - not sure how to check data/app loss would be case now since I did it so long time ago. Could anyone help me out?
For documentation purposes. So in my case I had lost root with factory reset. I had to boot into TWRP and re-flash super su. Difference from official tutorial: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ial-twrp-for-galaxy-s7-edge-hero2lte.3334084/ was that in step 9 my phone did not complain about dm-verity,. I did not have to disable encryption and I did not loose my data. Someone may correct me but it was because I had already rooted in past and the most likely cause for "loosing" root was doing factory reset. PS I have european model so I am not sure how much it makes this tutorial different.
Now what is left to do is come up with ideas how to hide root from 1 specific app in Android 7.
