GPRS SERVICE PROBLEMS

just got my xda 2 up and running. happily signed up with a data plan with my local service provider and everything seemed fine. i had no trouble using the internet until a few days i seemed to of lost the signal. at the time i didnt think too much of it, i dismissed it as simple network difficulties. i played around with it and took the sim card out and put it back in and that seemed to fix the problem. but its happened again and now nothing i do seems to want to fix it. it has no trouble recognizing the network. i even took it into the service provider and they had a look at it and they are confident all settings are correct and that the sim card works fine. they even put my sim card into a diferent device and it worked fine.
when you click on the connectivity section all it says is "no service" despite the fact it finds the "microcell" network in the phone section.
and i really dont understand why it would just stop working all of a sudden...i was using it a couple days ago and it worked great...now it just wont show me any type of signal?
we tried to do a hard reset and set everything up all over again but that didnt seem to fix the problem?
am i looking at a hardware problem here? and if so where on earth could i send this to get it repaired? Im in Canada by the way...
any help would be appreciated...im about ready to pull every last hair out of my head....my desktop computer died on me....my i mate is stuck in customs so i bought the xda 2 for the mean time and THIS HAPPENS!!!...im going to go crazy real quick...

wing: data service died

ok so after some long searching, hours on the phone with PDA techs at tmobile, for the second time my phone's data no longer works.
basically i am on tmo for 6 weeks now. after having my wing for 3 weeks the data stopped working, called wetn though trouble shooting, the sent me a replacement. this past week on jan 10th, the data on the new replacement phone stoped working again. called tech again same steps, and they are going to send me a new phone.
at first they said it is a network issue, so to prove thats not the case i go to a friend with a wing, swap sims and his phone with my card worked, his card in my phone did not work.
just to try it i installed Open Touch v2.4 Biggy
which i am now im love with, but didnt change anything...
does anyone know how i might go around avoiding this from happening again.
also on a side note
when the phone attempts to connect and fails, it no longer makes/receives phonecalls or txts. have to power cycle the phone to be able to make calls..
so does any one know why this is happening to me or does tmobile just hate me

You just had a touch of bad luck. I've had my Wing for about a month and a half and I always get a strong signal anywhere, even in my 12th floor apartment in downtown brooklyn, where I always had trouble getting a signal in with my older phones.

maybe i miss spoke, i have full service, phone is purfect providing i dont make a data connection attempt

People with some Hermes (I think) were having problems with their radio chip overheating and destroying itself... I wonder if we're running in the same problem. HTC might have gotten some back chips.

use the reset button
that normally works for me if i try to connect to data and fail..
you know the name the wing
means the phone is built for flight, as in the one out my window its going on soon

I was having this problem back in September/October..
I would be working at a job site and would need to record the air temperature, so I'd connect to weather.com or accuweather.com. It would refuse to connect.. sometimes it would say the remote connection was refused.. I couldn't connect to any other sites either. Or I'd be chatting with my gf or best friend and would get disconnected out of nowhere and might have no phone signal at all. It drove me nuts. If my phone connection was still working, I would contact Tmobile customer service. Each time it turned out they were having data connection issues for the western US... although I live in Central US, I was still considered West hmm. It was around the same time that Tmobile was quietly changing their unlimited data plans from $29.99/month to $19.99/month.. or whatever the prices.
So.. I figured it wasn't my phone.
Around the end of that month my phone was working great.. no data probs at all.. at least not that i knew of :-D
The same problems happened for me at the beginning of the year.. but I'm assuming it was due to the insanely heavy traffic(bc of holidays, new years, vacationers, etc) the mobile network had at the time.
My phone and data are working great again without me having done anything about it.
Sometimes turning off the phone connection... which will cut off your data connection too... then reconnecting the phone and then data connection would make mine work. If not.. maybe running network wizard.
I know that didn't help, but I just wanted to say I experienced that as well.

[Q] Suddenly lost signal

hi all. This is my 1st ever post, my wildfire with wildpuzzle rom all of a sudden has no signal, i cant make calls, sms, or go on the internet unless via wi-fi. everything was working fine for a few months and then today, lost signal. I try to change network settings but it wont accept sim despite sim working in other fones. Has this happened to anyone else. Is there a solution for this at all? Any help would be appreciated

[Q] Cellular Network Connection down sometimes?

Hey guys,
i bought an onlocked DVP in Germany, and since the last weeks the thingy is getting a bit strange, Phone is working fine.
But sometimes people can't get trough to me? Always Mailbox, sms don't arrive at my phone? Its on and showing that it has full network connection ....
anyone else has experienced that before? is it a bug in the hardware or is my service provider at fault ?

i asked my provider if the network has some technical difficulties but they are running fine.
is then something wrong with my phone?
again full network connection but calls don't come through to me ...

Sometimes I have to reboot phone to get things running again. Try that, I haven't had any other solutions.

Sometimes the network connection does switch between no connection/G/E/3G for me, radio is basically flaky.

i've never had a problem. I don't even think i've rebooted the phone ever ethier (other than updates).

Very weird signal problems....

Hi all, tearing my hair out here and can't find an answer anywhere about my issue... Basically my. Phone displays emergency calls only,even though I have signal. My cellular data is gone. I have found that if I select 3g only my data and signal comes back and all works fine again. As soon as I select lte 4g the emergency calls only starts again and I can't use my phone. Phone was rooted and working fine. I have reset to factory settings today and then set my phone up again(which resulted in me losing all my documents and photos as I could not back it up...) problem still there though. I'm. Gutted as I've only had the phone a couple of months. Please if someone could help me out here.

Have you consider that it can also be from your network provider

I haven't really as it seems to work ok with 3G. Seems more software or hardware. Was hoping someone had seen this before?!
