I have a rooted fascinate with dirrks D012 LV1200 voodoo fixed kernel that cannot download apps from the Market. It just gets stuck at Starting Download and never actually starts the download. I've tried going into applications then services and clearing the cache, but it's still a no go. Any ideas?

Autokiller or autostarts is not installed. I have advanced task killer installed, but it only runs when I run it.

I don't use wifi. Maybe I'll try the 2.2 update.

i ahve had this issue, and the only thing that has ever fixed it, is to data wipe...I have run into this many times and it is annoying. It really just comes out of nowhere too. I can't seem to pinpoint exactly when it happens, but i seems like it only occurs on the deodexed roms.
I had the same problem the other day. I had just moved some bloatware around and then it stopped working. I found that when I put the google talk stuff back it and restarted the phone it worked again. I'm a noob to a lot of this stuff so I'm sorry if I'm totally off base here with the reply i just figured I'd put in my 2 cents.
what i did was removed voodoo, put stock kernel back in. then i loaded Super Clean Rom DI01 from jt and installed voodoo again. market works great nwo
I was rooting/moving bloatware/ext4ing a friend's Fascinate today and I ran into this problem.
I spent what felt like forever trying to fully restore everything.
Finally, I used the Factory Format dialing string- *#767*3855#
That completely reset the phone, but left CWM and Market was restored.
Then I re-rooted, etc and it all worked.
Long, drawn out recovery process.
Did you by chance remove the vending.apk when deleting bloatware? If yes, that could be the issue.
Had this problem and I tried reflashing voodoo and uninstalling the market update and re-installing and it didn't help.
I finally disabled voodoo and wiped and installed jt's super clean rom and enabled voodoo...... market works great now!! Wish there was an easier fix tho.

Thanks for all your responses. Seems I'm going to have to wipe and start over again. I didn't remove vending.apk or google talk. Even tried going to market 2.2 still no go. Oh well, time to clean this bad boy up.... actually if someone knows what the google repository is I can just add that to aptoide and install things from there.

I've got the same problem. Great. Really not looking forward to having to reflash all of that. Nobody find any other shortcuts to fixing this?

Thanks a bunch! i removed gtalk then it stopped working but as soon as i re-installed it and changed permissions then did a reboot and it works fine now!
i was stuck on this for 2 days.
solved it by factory resetting and then using a different default gmail account.
my previous account never started downloading.
I had the same problem. It was because I had Google Talk frozen with titanium backup. Unfroze it, and market downloads started right up.

Hello everyone,
New to the forum and have a Fascinate that I rooted earlier today and done the CWM to it. Also bought all the premium pay for apps that are required for successful roots/rom/kernel flashes I've got the latest VD5/DJ05 combo(plus the instructions to install) to go on it but have a few questions first:
1. Do I need to install the Rom/Modem or Kernel first?
2. What do I need to do with my premium pay for apps I just bought today? I don't want to lose them; Do I just "Freeze" them with TiBu Pro and then "Defrost" them after uploading the Rom/Kernel combo?
3. Can I use a modified theme with this Rom/Kernel pack?
Thank you guys!!! I had this question on another forum and was referred to here for my answer. These questions are that's all keeping me from moving forward, this is a Verizon Fascinate of course.
1. Doesn't matter
2. Just back them up and restore them after you install the rom and install TB back.
3. Look in the theme section for themes for dj05

Install modem first then boot directly into recovery to install update.
Any paid for apps will be redownloadable for free and they will show up in the market when you press menu and download
Yes there are themes already.

Which kernel do you recommend that's Non-Voodoo to go with the DJ05 ROM? I got a Voodoo and Non-Voodoo version of the kernels from IRC, should I install the Non-Voodoo one I got or is there a better non-voodoo kernel floating around to use with the DJ05?
-Edit-
Got it all done and working, thanks!!!!
Could you elaborate on your setup? How is the rom working out and which kernel did you flash

First of all, dj05 modem/voodoo5 kernel/jt's super clean version 0.5 combo is the most stable set up in my opinion. gps locks up quick, decent quadrant score (1900), no lag what so ever, and everything works very very quick without any forceclose at all.
1. i did nandroid backup-> installed dj05 modem-> installed rom-> installed voodoo kernel in this order.
2. factory restore can get you everything back.......so it doesn't really matter....but don't freeze forground or core apps; you'll get forceclose. do not freeze or delete twlauncher.
3. yeah......but if rom/kernel pack works flawlessly, i wouldn't really do that. just u do the nandroid backup after installing rom and kernel first before trying out a theme. Always clear cache and data before execute your nandroid recovery.
There is "not enough space to install" ROM Manager after the new rom is installed... What do I do?
Tried installing a new 1.2 ghz Rom through the third or fourth option on ROM Manager(Free) coming from a non-overclocked voodoo kernal
EDIT: Have since reverted to my voodoo ROM, though now I cannot communicate with google(syncing, or market) Any help on this? and I have none of my marketplace apps.
EDIT: Have now wiped using the autouninstaller for voodoo and all is well an good in the world. Im gonna revert to a pre voodoo kernal for the time being till 2.2 comes out. Learn from my mistakes ppl. dont use a nonvoodoo kernal on top of a voodoo kernal
i have Facebook v1.5.1 and since i flashed the cm7 final rom ive yet to be able to update the app from the market. can someone explain this to me or tell me how i can update this app?
Get G+!
Seriously, have you changed anything to market? I was having this issue with the new version of market. Heard the updater was borked.
Also, try un-installing and DL off market fresh
Sent by Supersonic!
nah i didnt change the market. yea i deleted it n tried it fresh but still wouldnt let me update. so i had to re install the old version from titanium backup
which one to choose if starting from the very beginning with stock kernel?
I just installed what I found in the market. But remember never to update it once you have installed it.
Noob question: why not?

I seem to see automatic updates to my installed apps. Is there anyway to actually stop that from happening to busybox then? Is there a switch somewhere that I could disable automatic updates.
I specifically ask for version because I am worried that some tools and ROMs may have version requirement.
After you install the new Rom just don't install the busybox app from the market. If busybox is updated it may result in an inaccessible xrecovery.

would i encounter similar problem if I use CWM instead of xrecovery? Is this a bug on the part of xrecovery?
