I conference all the time when I used to be on T-mobile network. Now I switched to Simple Mobile network and all I can do on it is 2-way calling. Is there any way I can bypass this or is this a network thing?

I'm pretty sure its a network thing, they sometimes give you the option of 3way calling for extra charge. it just depends on the network.
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the network that I am now on does not support conferencing, which is a bit disappointing to me.

Just got my 6P today, activated it on Verizon, and noticed I have no internet access while on a call. upgraded from a Galaxy S4 which was able to do both at the same time. Any ideas?

1) Check to make sure your APN protocol is set to IPv6.
2) Make sure you've selected "Enchanced 4G LTE Mode" under Cellular network settings.
3) Open the dialer and press *#*#4636*#*# to access the hidden phone settings menu. Make sure that it reads "TURN OFF VOLTE PROVISIONED FLAG" (as this will mean that it's currently active.)
4) Beyond that I'd call Verizon and ask to speak to a technical support expert.
You have to call Verizon to turn on the HD calling. It's a feature that let's you do what you asked. Been there, done it.

Went to verizon.com and activated it. Works fine now, thanks.
Anyone know how to turn this off? Not yet rooted S8 VZW version (USA).
As far as I'm aware this is common on most handsets and happens as a result to boost and strengthen your network connection if weak.
Settings -> Advanced Calling -> Activate Advanced Calling
Once you get that activated you'll be able to talk and surf data at the same time as long as you're on LTE.

Verizon service required to activate. The only problem, I am using Straight Talk third party service. If rooted will i be able to enable?
How can I enable for MVNO (StraightTalk) with Verizon S8 G950U device, Advanced Calling (HD calling VoLTE/simultaneous use of mobile and voice data)?
Device is rooted with PartCyborgRom/SamPWND method mentioned by @still_mohawk, #355.
Would switching to ST sim for AT&T or T-Mobile fix?
I believe both carriers do not restrict simultaneous use of mobile and voice data?
Note: StraightTalk Wireless services can use either big 4 carrier network.
Any thoughts to enable dual use data/voice would be appreciated, thank you for any help you can share!

Yes but it won't work, at least not with wifi calling. I forced mine and I just stopped getting phonecalls lol.
You can try volte I think everyone has that activated if you don't already have it on. Use the app "shortcut master" and find the secret code that takes you to the settings app for it
I loaded Shortcut Master and found VoLTETestUI (com.test.LTEfunctionality) favorited and opened settings, turned ON N/W settings and when making a call the LTE stays on but the phone immediately hangs up. I changed the mode starting at 0-9 but none worked to maintian LTE connection. Is there an "HVoLTE test mode" setting that will work? Is there an APN setting that will keep LTE on during calls for mobile data/browsing?

CyberFem, any luck with this? I'm in the same boat. Tried shortcut master, got as deep as you did. Can't get VoLTE to work with my verizon s8 on total wireless (verizon mvno). TIA
No luck here.
Hey guys,
when calling someone, my wife for example, it says HD in calling screen. What does it exaclty mean? It cant be VoLTE because there would be a status bar icon which is not there.
I wouldn't care about that but my problem is that I dont have mobile data during a call, at least not on LTE. I dont know how it looks in other networks but could there be a relation to the HD call? Sometimes I really need mobile data during a call, especially when tethering with my laptop. I havent found a solution yet, not in settings and not online.
Any help or suggestions to make it possible?
Thx in advance
Edit: Thats what I found in OP community so I'm obviously not the only one.
This is 100% a bug/ issue. It's not normal behaviour for your phone to lose data connection whilst making a phone call, any decent modern smartphone should be able to handle this multitasking operation, let alone one with a Snapdragon 845!
I have access to three different phones, a Xiaomi redmi 3S, WileyFox swift 2 and my 6T.
ONLY the 6T drops my data connection when making a phone call, I have used the same SIM to test, so it's not the carrier. I'm pretty sure this used to work, as I make quite a lot of conference calls handsfree and often need to use Google whilst on a call.

HD means that you are most probably using VoLTE connection (technically you may have HD call on HSPA as well, aka 3G).
What carrier are you using? Are you using 2 SIM configuration? You will lose a network connection if your data is on SIM1 (T-Mobile for example) and you have second SIM Verizon and enabled Dual LTE in settings.
Thanks for your replies.
I'm on Vodafone Germany.
Single SIM.
If VoLTE is available in your area and through your carrier that allows you to place a phone call over your LTE connection instead of the more common voice networks. So it really depends on the area/location availability where your carrier offering.

You haven't enabled VoLTE on your device. There is a long thread on the forum showing the trick to enable the feature on Vodafone Germany.
Sent from my ONEPLUS 6T using Tapatalk
Are you using the stock dialer? The feature doesnt work with the Google Phone app ports.
So I got myself the LTE version of this tab.
Was hoping wifi calling was an option.. But it doesn't seem to support it (at least I can't seem to find the option)
I have a tmobile Sim card and when I use it on my note 8 I can see the wifi calling option.
Anyone know a way to enable this? Or the the s5e simply not support this feature.?
I think this depends on your cell provider as some networks do not support WiFi calling

Yeah it does,
In my case my provider does support wifi calling and using the same Sim card I can activate wifi calling on a couple of other devices I have., just not on this tablet because I am unable to find the option.

In that case I would take your device to either the local high street retail branch of your Service Provider or a Samsung Service Centre and ask them for further assistance. There is a chance that the SGTS5e does not support WiFi calling as it is a tablet afterall.
