Nexus One Wired Tether - Epic 4G General

How do we use the native android wired tether the way the nexus one does? I hate how t-mobile gets all the great native android features unlocked

[Q] droid 2 tether

Is it possible to make the droid 2 a wifi hotspot without rooting it. There are a few apps in the marketplace that are free, but will i get charged my verizon for using them?
There is a Mobile 3G Hotspot app included on stock D2, but you will be charged extra for using it. The free Wireless Tether app requires root.

The marketplace has a tether app, not by verizon, just some custom app....would i be charged for using this?
Look up 'easy tether' or 'pdanet' on the market. Neither require root and both are free.

Have you tried Wireless Tether for Root Users?
If you want to tether with USB instead of wireless, try PDA Net - they have a free version that works pretty good except it won't let you on secure sites. Otherwise as the OP said, Wireless Tether for root users is good or Barnacle Legacy is also good.

[Q] (Q) droid x hot spot

I was wondering if I root my x, can I get the hotspot for free instead of paying an extra $20? if not i'll just not root mine.
If you root you can download wireless tether from the android market its free and its great.

Also use the latest version of z4root to root your Droid x. I've got my Droid x rooted with the free wifi tether and I couldn't be happier.

Thanks. Was making sure it was free.

the verizon 3g hotspot has a mod you can get to unlock it, but it voids the verizon tos. even if you dont get free tethering, root for the many awesome benefits anyway.
I want to make this clear. I won't be charged for wifi tethering?

Just use the wireless tether that's free in android market. Also make sure you have an unlimited data plan which I assume you have.

WiFi Tethering From Galaxy S3

Have had enough of Bluetooth tethering so have decided to tether from my phone and the connection is much better, although the wireless tether app on my S3 doesn't work too good whereas the tethering hotspot appears to work fine with WiFi manager on my Nexus 7, im wondering what apps people are using for tethering, etc?
Used to swear by Barnacle but it's now useless and doesn't work at all.
Running Liquid Smooth ROM on both Tablet and Phone

I couldnt get foxfi or barnacle tether to work, i just used the portable hotspot in the stock samsung firmware and it worked fine for the exact same thing.
Im currently connected to Wi-Fi from my Evo 4G LTE using Fox-Fi.
Is weird how I can barely load pages on my 3G connection using my phone but have no problems connecting to pages through tether on my Nexus.

For Blutooth tether this is what i use.
Sprint GS3:
foxfi
N7
PDAnet for tablets
Setup bt tether on foxi then use PDAnet. So far this works for me on browsing sites. Some apps will fail though since they actually check the wifi status of the tablet. Since you will be using bt for internet connection, it will fail. I hope this helps.
