[Q] How to get info - Android Software Development

I am currently developing a live wallpaper (which is almost complete) but I only have an analog clock at the center of the wallpaper. I was wanting to also be able to replace the clock with weather icons, but I don't know how to obtain weather information (or any at all, for that matter) from a source and convert it to images. Does anyone know how to do this? Here is a pic of the live wallpaper: the arcs rotate around the clock (which is a built-in widget) at different rates and in different directions. What do you think?

Help needed - Wallpaper won't change

Hi guys,
Do you have any idea as to why my wallpapers won't change?
They change only if I choose animated wallpapers. If I choose weather wallpapers, they won't change at all.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
the weather has to change before a different weather wallpaper is applied!!
If you apply a "weather wallpaper" these are static and not animated - appart from the weather animation.

Click to collapse
It doesn't work. The animated ones work, no matter if the weather update or not.
The static ones don't change at all. I have no ideea why.
So you are saying that the weather wallpaper does not animate, like when you unlock the phone or go from the start screen back to the home screen. Have you ever had the weather working (the wallpaper takes the last stored weather data to define the animation to use whether the weather data is currently being updated or not). I'm talking stock ROM without additionally interfaces and apps. Have you installed anything that chan ges the way the phone looks? A hard reset might work.

[Q] Weather widget in the style of Battstatt and Tajm?

I would really love a weather widget in the style of Battstatt and Tajm. There is a similar theme for Beautiful Widgets that shows a text-based representation of the current weather.
I was thinking it could have something like:
Eighty Five Degrees
Sunny
Or a forecast in a larger widget:
Today: Sunny and 85
Tomorrow: Partly Cloudy and 62
Or something like that. How difficult would it be to build something like that which uses an accurate weather source?
Should be fairly simple. Take a look at the wiktionary sample included with teh SDK. It just does a query of wiktionary.org's Word of the Day. Should be easy enough to build a similar widget that points to a weather site.

[Q] [q] Bypass android home screen widget grid?

One thing I like about cookie mods is that one can arrange the Widgets/shortcuts anywhere on the screen, is there any way to disable the snap grid on android? I already use adequate launcher and have set columns and rows, but would like to be able to arrange icons as I would wish, without system limitations.

[Q] Live Wallpaper on lock screen

On my phone running 2.3 the lockscreen shows whatever wallpaper I normally have including live wallpapers. However, it looks like in 3.1 you need to choose a separate wallpaper for the lockscreen and it won't let me choose a live wallpaper. Does anyone know a work around for this?

analog clock on lock screen (not aod screen)

Anyone can tell me if you can use an analog clock like the one on the display, even on the lock screen (that is, the one that requires dragging)? the digital clock on two rows is horrible !!! .... Thank you
I believe the only way to change it is to use specific theme from the Theme Store. But sadly it will also change the whole UI.
