[Q] is my hd2 bircked? After rom no respnse from phone - HD2 General

Hi,
I try to make htc hd2's language Turkish. After hspl was successful, I loaded Leo_HTC_TUR_WWE_1.61 Rom. But after rom installition finished the phone seems to be just like dead. No color on screen, no blur, no sound.
I guess it is bricked according to I learn from I read. is it possible to install old rom or another or even a way to turn on phone.

Nope, you have succesfully perma-bricked your device. The only alternative is to send it into HTC for repair.

Agreed. . . . HTC will swap mother boards under warranty if they can not see you messed with the software.

I guess perma-bricked means there is no way to operate with the software on phone. Right? The only way is changing mother board?
Also, when I plug in via USB, windows searchs for Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM driver, bu after a while "No driver found message appears"

yep, that's another sure fire telltail confirmation that's it's gone.

I will send it to HTC but if they understand that I change the system, I think the cost of mother board will be just like buying a new phone.
If I buy a used mother board and change it with mine, is there any possibility for phone to work?

just send it back and play dumb, hundreds of people have had them repaired, no one has yet reported being refused, except when they own up to flashing.

Where to find right replacement Mini-B Usb?

Hi,
My mini-B usb female connector (for charging and usb connectivity etc) is broken...
I need to find a replacement,
but I don't know what model it's exactly..
I don't what to end up ordering something I can't use :]
Can anyone help me?
Thanks!
What is the Make/Model of your phone. Either you can send it to the original manufacturer/vendor if still under warranty or you can order from ebay.First know the maker and model No # of your phone like T-mobile,cingular,i-mate or At&tt etc and model like T-mobile MDA,vario, etc etc,ok
Cheers !
I have mine from www.techcenter.fr
It's an HTC Wizard, Wiza200. (Qtek in fact)
Looking for a replacement USB port for your Apache or Wizard?
Go to:
http://www.mouser.com/catalog/629/979.pdf
You're looking for "D" in the pic's (Mouser Stock No. 538-67503-1020)
I have purchased them, they fit perfectly!
Good luck

My USB connector is broken as well. Have you replaced one yourself? I want to know how hard it would be to do, because I'm thinking of ordering the part and attempting it.
what about ppc techs. they repair and sell that part.
I've done it a bunch of times...it definitely takes a few trys before u get it right...if ur familiar w/ soldering then it should be fairly easy, but if not...it might be worth paying some one to do it for u...if the pads are ripped from the motherboard then they have to be retraced...that is even harder...then it is worth paying to have it fixed for sure...otherwise, there is always the upgrade
upgrade? i wish. bought mine off the streets. thanks

My car's white - how fast does it go?
And now for some more detail:-
Is the error coming up from Windows, or ActiveSync?
What OS and ActiveSync version are you using?
Have you ever been able to sync?
What ROM is your device using?
Are you using USB or Bluetooth Sync?
If its ActiveSync, you could try deleting any existing profiles within the Application and trying again.
Have you tried both a soft and hard reset of the phone?
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling ActiveSync?
Have you got the latest version of ActiveSync?
Have you tried synchronising over bluetooth instead of USB (or vice-versa)?
Have you tried google to resolve your problem?

a new USB part of the device , but it can not working yet.
the repairer said, the control IC has broken , is it right ?

Tis an old quote passed down to me as a junior IT tech from the wizards of the mainframe, and illustrates the point perfectly I think.
Veron_fat - when you say you have "change a new USB part of the device", is that the USB cable, or the Mini-USB port on the device?? I had a fault with my first charger where the connection eventually went wrong within the connector on the cable - swapped it out with a new charger and all was well again. I have however also broken an Axim x50v sync port with too much flexing - the connector broke the solder ports on the mobo.
I'd be surprised if you'd broken the IC - can someone else advise if my memory is correct and the USB device controller is integrated into the main CPU. Is this also shared with the USB host controller? I'm thinking that if Veron_fat has the 4 in 1 USB cable, he can test that to see if it is the IC, or the port that is at fault.
I do think though Veron that you've buggered the port, and it will either be a resolder on the port by a skilled electronics engineer, or a new mobo.

Why not just send it back to HTC for repairs/diagnostics? It might only cost you shipping. Just my 2 cents.

Technichally innovative Idea to have Wifi on GENE - Need support from Experts!

hi people!
I am using Gene since last one year and one thing I miss a lot with this phone is the WIFI.... I see registry entries for WIFI but no UI for Settings.
I got 2 thoughts about it:
1. The WIFI hardware is present but the device driver is not installed: so if this is the case, can i get the device driver on internet ?
2. Before GENE i used IMATE KJam. and its dumped and not working now. i was thinking if it is at all possible to de-solder the WIFI devide from IMATE KJAM and solder it on GENE motherboard. If that is possible, can I have the steps with snapshots plssssssssss.
Think people, i have a feeling that this is possible! coz I saw that nothing is impossible for you guys on this forum! so lets make this possible!
PRady
About soldering stuff i dont know and i wont recommend, unless you have some spare money for another phone.
About Wifi hardware: No the hardware is not there. the registry entries represent the Windows Mobile's internal support for Wifi. You can get wifi using an external SDIO card. These cards come with their own drivers in form of cab files and these drivers automatically provide the required UI. For example, in my case, drivers of the card i use add a new tab in Network Adapters applet in settings.
@krazy_about_technology
Since u said u r using the card....could you tell me some details like manufacturer and price !! I jus can't seem to find the card anywhere...
Krazy!!!
Thanks for ur reply man!
I can spare money for another phone.. Could you please show me where to solder that Wifi card.. also pls show where to desolder from IMATE KJAM...
is there a new version of P3400 with WIFI?? If yes, can I have the motherboard layout plssssss
Thanks,
PRady

Hi Any luck with this?
Working!!!
I am still working on this budddy
I don't think it is possible to remove the wifi part of another phone and solder it to GENE motherboard, or to that matter to any other phone.
This will require the redesigning of the motherboard.

+1 for that. I also don't think thats possible, unless the gene Mobo has some future upgrade options. But looking at Mobile Cos, I sincerely doubt that they have ever heard of upgradability
hi I happened to read your post .. the card is called Spectec sdw 821..availaible on amazon for 40 usd
1 simple solution is replace the mobile with sm wifi enabled phone!! dat wont screw ur gene too!!

[Q] How to flash hd mini official rom from an SD card?

I bought this phone just a week ago and my computer does not recognize it when connected using the USB cable that came in the package. When I move the cable a little bit, it gets recognized sometimes. I suspect there's a problem with either the cable or the phone's port. I want to upgrade its ROM to the newer version announced by HTC a few days ago. Is it possible to flash ROM via an SD card?
Not the answer to your specific question, but on the subject of your PC not talking to the Mini, your PC isn't running Vista by any chance? I had to update the Windows Mobile Device Center from the MS web site before my two would talk to each other.
I went to an HTC care center today and they replaced the defective data cable. My computer detects my phone now. I'm happy with the service they gave.
I'm not going to buy any HTC product ever again. After having spent Rs.18900/- (this is definitely a big amount for a middle class Indian citizen like me) for a phone, it is NOT ACCEPTABLE to find a defective data cable in the package.
As far as flashing ROM from a SD card is concerned, I'm still curious. Can someone please tell me what to rename RUU_signed.nbh as? Also, how to enter the manual boot loader mode?

I lost the headphone, and I hardly found a place to buy a new one. I paid $ 40 for the new headphone. You are right, meet too, I will never buy another product of htc, very expensive. Even, I wrote to the company and they replied to me but they don't do anything because they know that customers are stupid.

[Mar 18][DISCUSS] Find a Solution? Blank screen, Qualcomm USB Only..

Flashed LEOIMG.nbh from RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.43.405.1_Radio_Signed_15.26.50.07U_2.04.50_22_2_Ship trying to unbrick my HTC HD2
Now when I turn it on, I get no screen, no bootloader, etc.
USB does work, appears as "Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM"
I found some drivers and installed it as "Qualcomm Diagnostics Interface 3197"
I have an idea to fix this..
I extracted the SPL.nb from T-Mobile_HD2_MR_Software_2.13.531.1
if I or someone can find the right Application to flash the HD2 via the "Interface 3197"
Maybe a variation of QDLTool (The HD2 shows up as ready to flash but the images are for the Streak)
Any help is very much appreciated..
I have two HD2's, one functional and one not, ready to work hand and hand with someone via IM (Ex: GTalk or AIM) to find a solution to this problem!
Does anyone have any ideas? Please help.. Don't want a $500 paper weight

Sorry man but the only way to reserect a bricked HD2 is by using a JTAG and a RIFF BOX. Do a little scimming over the thread titles in this forum. You will find plenty of threads that descuss this and some of them have post by members that offer to fix a bricked HD2 as they have the JTAG and RIFF BOX. You can also check and see ic there is a cell pbone repair shop in your area, they are more and more of these poppieg up now, heck there is one in my area now. Either finding a member here or a repair shop is probably going to be your best option cause it is going to cost you well over $200 USD to get the JTAV and RIFF BOX. A member here or repair shop will only charge you a small fraction off that price. Also the procedure you have to do to reserect your HD2 recuires you to partially desassemble your pbone and this is not for just anybody.
I read your post yesterday .utility was hesatant in posting as I wanted to see if someone might had another idea to put with yours and the both of you come up with a way to do what is said to be impssible. Wich is reserecting a bricked HD2 by just using the mini USB port to run the needed software on it to be able to reinstall a ROM. But it seems that no one has any ideas to put with yours sorry man.
I have looked through the forum and I found other guys trying to fix it without disassembling.. If I have access to the qualcomm chip and it appears in qdltool, why can't we just reprogram it via usb?

To be completely honest with you I really don't know the technical answer to your question as I have hardly any knowledge of the inner workings of the HD2 hardware. But from what I can best come up with is when a HD2 gets bricked it does something to prevent comunication between the CPU (Qualcomm Snapdragon processor) and the NAND chip that holds the ROM software. Wich intern means that you can not gain access to the NAND chip via the USB to run whatever needed software to restore it. This is why the JTAG is needed as it can reastablish comunication between the CPU and the NAND chip. Now this is just a thought of mine and I have no data to back this up with. So I maybe way off base as to why you can not use the micro USB port to reserect a bricked HD2, like I said it is just a thought I have and nothing more.
You flashed a 51 radio to a tmous. If you manage to fix it without repair or jtag, you would be the first.
