I was out walking, plugged my Skull Candy headphones into the jack and fired up the native media player. Nothing came out. The counter was moving forward, meaning the music was playing. When I got home, I tested it without the headphones and the music played over the phone's speaker. I then plugged the phones back in and got nothing except the alerts over the phones.
I then rebooted and music playback through the headphones was restored.
Can anyone tell me why this happened?

All,
As of yesterday I have lost sound out of the headphone port of the Treo Pro. Last afternoon I started windows media player and no sound came out of it. However, after about 2-3 minutes it suddenly started all of a sudden.
In the evening I went to play music again and no go. From then on I couldn't play music through the headphones and I've tried many headsets. It plays fine through the speakerphone as soon as I unplug the headphones but when i plug it in.. no sound
I hard resetted the device and that didn't have any effect either.
Any suggestions anyone?

I am having the same issue on my P6800 (Sprint Mogul)
For some odd reason whenever I plug in headphones or my aux cord into the headphone port the music starts playing through the phone earpiece. This just randomly started after I woke up and I uninstalled any new apps and reset settings in poweramp and rebooted. No music plays through the headphones or my car when the aux cord or headphones are plugged in, only through the earpiece and when nothings plugged in it plays through the phone speaker just fine. Any ideas or clues? Any help is much appreciated, probably something right in front of my face

Idk what did it but I my phone died and when I charged it and turned it on everything worked again
In PowerAMP, uncheck the box here:
Settings -> Headset Options -> Resume on Headset Connections
Good luck.
Hi, I have a problem when listening to music:
An incoming notification used to stop my music when a notification arrived. Now, I downloaded a music player with more options - I disabled the options which stopped music after headset was unplugged. It helped a little:
Now, when I listen to music and a notification comes, the music plays loud from the speaker for about a second or two, then going back to headset.
Happened on ICS, so I jumped back on GB. Same effect.
Also, I found out notification sounds are played always through the phone, not the headset.
EDIT: Found out this one is normal.
Try PowerAMP. Pauses at unplug, starts again at plug. If you get a notification, music stops playing a few seconds, speaker plays the notif. sound, and the music continues on headset.
PowerAMP
Poweramp is what I meant by "Now, I downloaded a music player with more options" ...
Thats the player which disables pause-on-headset-unplug, but it makes the problem I described (the second one) ...
HI, I don't want any notifications or ringtones to play through the back speaker of my S4 when the headphones are plugged in. I want to ONLY hear those sounds in my headphones. Completely muting the phone doesn't work because then obviously I wouldn't hear anything in the headphones either.
So, is it possible to do this on the GT-i9505 ?
My old Samsung Galaxy Spica did this and I really miss that "feature".
That's weird yours plays thru the rear speaker mine plays everything thru the headphones when connected
HA! this is a hugeass issue on every android I've owned. im assuming you're using poweramp or something right? the stock player pauses the song to play it thru the headphones which is probably why that dude up ^^ doesn't get that.
anyways some kernels fix this, namely Boeffla Sound on the sgs3. sadly I've seen no fix on the s4. SO! , here's what your can do; in your music player (power amp, etc), under audio settings, turn on Settings>Audio>Audio Focus> and tick 'Short Audio Focus Changes', this will pause your music on notifications.
ORRRRR a far better solution is when you plug in your 3.5mm jack headphones (cause this shii* doesn't happen on bluetooth), you can just pull down your notification bar and tap over to vibrate mode. then you'll hear notifications IN YOUR HEADPHONES a little quieter but still noticeably behind your music, and your music won't pause or mute or anything.

I bought Moto g4 plus 2 days ago. When I am playing music in Google music player or any other music player after 2/3 songs the music player behaving strangely. After beep sound songs are changing automatically. Sometimes music stops playing with a beep sound. After 2/3 occurrences like this phone is restarting automatically.
Now, this is only happening when an earphone is plugged. When I am playing music without an earphone on it is not having any problem. I have tried with 3 earphones and 3 music player including Goggle music player.
One more thing, when I am doing something else with earphone plugged (like watching YouTube, cellular calls) it is not having any problem.
I did factory reset once but same problem.
Does anyone has any idea what is the problem actually might be.
