[Question] Manila 2 or 2.1 with Stock Rom

OK, to make a long story short;
I would love to have my original Stock Rom with Manila 2 or 2.1.
If you want to know why I can summarize in the following points.
1- Win 6.1 is a lot faster.
2- Stock ROm with Stock Radio and Stock SPL will not VOID warranty is the phone is unusable and not able to reflash.
3- Manila 2 and 2.1 has the HTC contact Manager which allow me to link my contacts on my phone with there FaceBook accounts which is a feature that I love.
So Now you know.
If you can Help me I would highly appreciate it.
I don't think there is any way of achieving that I'm afraid.
I use Dutty's v4.3 which is WM6.1 with Manila 2.1
Look at http://htcpedia.com/forum/showthread.php?t=526 for more info
If you flash with USPL, you can keep the stock SPL on the phone... unfortunately an updated radio is included in the ROM and of course, it replaces the original ROM.
If you're still against using a cooked ROM (you have valid reason for wanting to do so), try SPB Mobile Shell or another UI as I know with SPB, it has Facebook integration (the latest version 3.5 definitely does at least).
Thanks for the reply my friend.
I am not against cooked Roms, I actually tried every single one of them 6.1 and 6.5 Manila and Titanium.
That is what drove me to the conclusion that all I need is Manila 2.x so I can get the face-book update of my contacts.
All I really need is a fast rom and the fastest is always the StockRom which also comes pre equipped with Arabic (my mother tongue) but with all cooked Roms I have to add Arabic manually.
So what I am searching for currently is a way to integrate Manila 2.x with my stock Rom, even if I recook my stock Rom (have to look like it was Original Though). Or maybe a way to temporary disable Manila and replace needed files in the stock rom and then re-enabling it again thus will have manila 2.x.
I don;t really know but I am trying to think of something.
Again Thanks for the Help.
A little bump maybe an expert will see and Help.

There is no way to install manila as a cab. The only way to get it is by flashing a ROM containing it.

No problem. But i'm skeptical about this working on a stock ROM with Manila built in and such a low build of WM 6.1. But who knows, it might.

Wow. I didn't even think of that... I forgot what forum this question was posted in. A WVGA version would be even easier to get since it doesn't have to be ported much.... I just don't know where to look. I'll see if I can find one.

So any updates regarding porting it to Stlock 6.1?

i know.....but i'm a noob.....and flashing a rom, instead of installing few cabs, is a too great step to do.
first of all.....what is the best for my diamond. wm6.1 or wm6.5? tf3d 2.1, 2.5 or 2.6?
then....a very stable and free-bug rom in ITA.....

I don't think you can get a cab for it, no. To help you out, what you're after, I think, is Manila version 2.5 (2.1 was called TouchFlo 3D, now called "Sense" by HTC).
Have a look around and you'll see lots of ROMs with 2.5 cooked into them, you can try one of those but you'll need to flash the ROM (see the stickies for instructions).

Do you guys ever think there will be a .cab for HTC Sense? I have read about flashing but i dont feel comfartable doing it because i don't want to brick my phone.

Probably not. Sense consists of hundreds (if not thousands) of files which also integrate quite deeply with Windows Mobile. I simply don't think it can be done.
However, you shouldn't at all be afraid of flashing cooked ROMs. I was once a n00b, terrified of breaking my Kaiser by flashing a cooked ROM. However, I read, followed directions, and didn't take shortcuts. As a result, I turned out fine. As long as you read and follow proper directions from people who know what they're doing, it's incredibly unlikely that anything bad will happen. Also, most "bricks" are not truly bricks, and are easily recoverable.
ok thats to bad :S i would realy love it.
you guys are also talking aboute files that are loose.
where can i find those files ?

There won't be a CAB, but why not just flash it with the official HTC ROM? Then you get Sense without doing anything that messes up the warranty. And you won't brick it.

I see you're from Holland, so here's the link to the Dutch HTC TP2 ROM with WM 6.5 and Sense (at least the Norwegian version of the same ROM had Sense).
http://www.htc.com/nl/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=250&act=sd&cat=all
Just follow instructions and you'll be fine. Just back up your contacts etc first ;-)

[Q] How to edit or merge ROMS

I own an htc shdaow and would like to know how to merge two roms i hvae or edit it...please help is need to put this phone to rest...
Please explain your situation a little bit more in-depth; what is it you are trying to do by "merging" or "editing" the ROMs you have?
Well...
i have a wm 6.1 rom and a 6.5 rom and wanted to merge the two cause some of the apps on the 6.5 are need on the 6.1 and vice versa
And with the editing i would like to edit the 6.5 (which is easy i think) so i can add some apps and remove some so forget the merge i just want to edit a rom
link to rom http://wiki.allshadow.com/index.php/Shadow_6.5_Red_rom
Well. To simply put it - Find the fora about your device and read, read, read and learn about your device.
Then learn how to cook for your device.
If I was in your circumstance, I would dump the two ROMs and then look through the files that make up your ROMs.
For instance, I would take the first ROM and dump it. I would then create a kitchen with those files.
Then I would Look at all the extension files that are created with those ROMs, seeing if there was anything that I could use.
I cook for the Wing/Herald - a legacy device. I use packages from the Touch2 (Mega) ROMs; I use a vast majority of these packages to help keep my Wing updated.
Thanks but i learn how to cook them but the problem is that i have to sort them or something..is these a easy way to do this?

Nope, there is no magic wand for cooking!
also make sure the roms you are trying to merge and edit are stock roms and not custom roms made by you or anyone else.. because dumping a cooked rom is not possible (yet)
The HTC Shadow is a pretty old device now. I have one myself and cooking for it is definitely not easy. Best way to do it is to get a NBH editor type of tool.... dump both ROMs... and just insert the apps u want from another into the other. If u REALLY want to cook for the Shadow... erofinch made a kitchen a while back, but it's a big hassle to cook the normal way for it. I'd say install your apps via .cab and get it over with
p.s.
Who's down rating this thread ?! lol
