Have fun!
Root for 2.21
Try this Super One Click
Alternatively, you can flash the latest voodoo 5.0.3. There are two 5.0.3s there, JPU and JPX, be sure to pick the right one. It comes with ClockworkMod recovery that can be very handy. Then just download Superuser from the market. If you're not interested in the lagfix, create the folder(s) /Voodoo/disable-lagfix on the internal sd before flashing so you can skip the conversion process. It's what I did.
Thanks for your help guys.
Much appreciated =D
hi all i spent three days trying to root my fone without losing my wifi.i finnaly found a web site. go to google type xxjpu galaxy root.you should find a site that as xxjpu root and voodoo all in flash + ther are some realy cool addons tools. the fourm is becoming to confusing with so many fimwares floating around.the should be a data base system like samfirmware.com to make it easy.

If you took the OTA update then you can't root it. The only way is to sbf back to froyo and install P3DROID 2 part pre rooted gb

OTA Gingerbread can't be rooted using methods such as z4root and Gingerbreak.
To root Gingerbread you must SBF back to .340 and flash a prerooted version of Gingerbread.
If I can find the thread at My Droid World be containing the file and the instructions I will PM the link to you.

Rooting apk for galaxy 2.3.4

Looking for an apk that will do this for me as z4root and gingerbreak won't work.
If you want root, why don't you flash a custom kernel, then boot into recovery and you will find an option for root built in, most will even install superuser for you too, with one click.
Tried using rom manager, 1 click speedmod but cant unless the phone is rooted
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
You need to look at the threads in Dev section for the likes of speedmod or Galaxian Kernels, you download the kernal and Odin, connect the phone in download mode and then flash the kernal as PDA (i think), then reboot your phone, reboot again into recovery and you will have CWM built in with root options, no need for rom manager...
Just make sure you pick the right Kernel for your current rom!!!
Yes but the point is i want to know if its possible via an apk . I know how to flash

Since 2.2.1 it's been impossible to root the SGS without outside tools.
What are you hoping to accomplish?
I dont know maybe a portable root unroot apk for gingerbread, I can do it by pc but it would be good to do it via apk
Sent from my E15i using XDA App
seriously man. you are dumb. ukdtweak already give the clear answer for you.
Download this pacakage http://www.4shared.com/folder/sMLqbTXo/_online.html and istall via Odin.
Best
I think he know to root via install custom kernel, but he want to find another root menthod using app on the phone, doesn't need PC to flash custom kernel
this is the apk:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044765
so it DOES exist. seems some i9000 users were able to make use of the apk successfully, while most were not. and this is with 2.3.3. i suppose the chances of it working on 2.3.4 are even more unlikely.
Thank, you very much guys i would thanks you all but cant from the xda app
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
think best will be root with odin...
Does SuperOneClick work with 2.3.4?...

Gingerbread
I know of no apk.
Unfortunately the first root has to be done via Odin. All other rooted roms can be done via clockwork mod. Rom manager screws up when using it from desktop. 2 roms come into my thoughts: Cognition and Insanity. I downloaded a 3.3.4 rom, in the past and flashed via Odin and totally bricked my other phone. You can use Samfirmware.com for the latest secure rom and then find a rooted rom , of the same number and flash via Odiin.

Super 1 click must have a kernel which is unlocked to root the rom.
