I have noticed that the call log shows text message history along with the calls. I remember on my Nexus One I had an option in setings to filter out the messages. I don't see that option anymore. Any help would be much appreciated. I have looked through the forum and all over the net trying to find an answer. I'm currently running Quantom Rom 2.0. I've tried numerous roms and had the same issue.
Tapping menu will reveal options for filtering.
good day. From the Fascinate sporting the XDA app.

I posted this in the other sub thread but got no response so I thought I'd try here. I recently installed the palm threaded sms app. I love using this for text msging except for the fact that I get no sound or vibration when I recieve a new txt. I have checked the settings in the sound notifications and everything there has sound applied to it. Any help would be great. I want to continue using this program but won't be able to if I can't tell when I get a sms msg.
you should have a separate entry in the notifications list showing Text Message (Palm) or similar. You need to set this to the sound/vibrate you want. The only problem I've found is that none of the usual profile managers that allow you to switch between quiet/loud/normal/vibrate and such will change this notification as they are all hard-wired for the standard notification name only.
There is one for text msgs but no matter what I put there it doesn't give any kind of notification.
Edit: Found the one you were talking about I guess I just overlooked it testing it out now.
Please pardon this posting (if this is an already known issue - it's 3.00AM and I've been combing the Herald threads for known issues but didn't see this on there)...
I got a new Wing today and after placing the SIM card in it, the phone works like one would expect until you try to send a text message. That never gets sent . What's more aggravating is the behavior on incoming text messages. The keys light up when I get a new text message and the counter on the home screen adds to the number of unread messages however, when I click on the link to attempt to view the messages, the inbox is blank. 0 messages in it. I have checked all the folders to no avail. Even a hard reset on the device doesn't seem to fix the issue. Am I missing something here? If so what??
FYI I called T-Mo support and their Tier 3 guy was stumped.
Here's the wierd thing while I was going through testing to validate that this was an actual issue, I did get the "incoming text message" bubble notification and from there, I clicked on Menu (from the home page) and was able to view the text messages - so they're somewhere in my phone, just not in the inbox - anyone have any idea where I can look?
*bump*
I'm having this problem now. Ever find the fix?
I recently bought a HTC HD2 and like the phone a lot. I have a problem with SMS and whenever I search for the problems with SMS they are all old and about lag which obviously was a big problem. Mine isn't as big of problem but is extremely annoying.
When I get a new message, whether on the lockscreen or not. If I use the navigation tabs to view the SMS (which you have to do from the lockscreen), I am 90% of the time directed to an older message in the conversation and not the NEW message. So then I have to scroll up to view the new message.
This is extremely annoying and I know I cant be the only one to have this problem, but it is definitely hard to search for this because it is hard to describe. Please someone help.
Also, would there be a way to go from the new SMS slider on the lockscreen directly to "All Messages" so you can bypass seeing the sms on the white sheet of paper and then having to click that to answer. Its a lot of steps for nothing.
same problem here, on Miri's ROM. it is annoying (as is the fact that when i start writing a text, after a couple of seconds the focus moves out of the text entry field, and hence i can't type any more without clicking in the field again.
not found a solution to either of these.
I've seen a thread about this yesterday I think
Anyway, just disable the SMS tab... If you do that, tapping the notification will open the Messaging application.
i suspect going to an old message from lockscreen is caused by the same thing that makes appointments stay on the lockscreen for a while after they have ended. basically the lockscreen controls poll the registry for the info that is displayed, but it doesn't update itcontinually.just now and then
I disabled the sms navigation tab and that seems to work better. The SMS app is still not as smooth as i would like it to be but what can you do...
Dear, This thread already posted. search for smstimestampfixer 1.3.cab. gud luck
Does anyone know how to turn off the SMS preview in the latest com3 builds? I'm looking specifically for a fix for 21665. I am not running on an HTC phone or using Sense.
When you get a notification and click the go to sms button, it doesn't take you straight to the sms for response like it used to. Now I get a popup with the sms readout, but I can't respond directly from that.
It could be great to disable that new enhacement it makes some lack and in fact is unnecessary cause we all can see the message in threaded conversation SMS screen.
*Bump*
Has anyone figured out how to disable this "feature"? In other builds when Titanium shows "text" with the number 1 beside it and I tap where it says "text" it brings me to that new message in threaded view. Seems all COM3 builds bring you to this preview screen showing that message and then you have to close it an manually select to view the message again in threaded view. I use SMS a lot and find this extremly annoying but cannot find out how to get the functionality back to the way it used to work. I have tried builds 23139, 23138, 23121, 21680 and they all do this. Any help would be appreciated.

I would like to know this as well. Same with email. The animation is nice at first, then it's just annoying. I want to go straight to my messages or the emaiil.
I just upgraded my Nexus 7 3G (2012) to 4.4. It used to be on 4.3 that, despite not coming with a proper SMS client, I could install one third-party and send/receive.
Here is what happens now. I can install 8sms and it will tell me it is not my SMS app. However when I tap "SMS Disabled" in Settings, nothing happens. There does not appear to be an SMS system setting on this stock ROM. So I can't seem to get it out of "Sending disabled" mode.
When I text from my phone to my tablet, I get a messaging notification in my tray from Android itself, but tapping it opens up just a toast notification. The message does not actually seem to get recorded anywhere. In 8sms it just appears as (No subject).
Any thoughts on whether this may be surmountable?
I can't answer you but I have a question: where can I find incoming messages? I'm on prepaid and there are incoming messages from the carrier but I can't read them.

Click to collapse
They come into the notification tray for me when they arrive, but after reading them they are not stored anywhere. The information just vanishes.
