Maybe you got a wrong language rom from the one you had, try installing your old rom again.
If not it may be a hardware issue, maybe have a look for the keyboard mappers if there are any and remap your keyboard keys back to the way they were maybe.
Hope this helps.
Exemike
i sorted it out by Resco Registry Editor
i changed the string values of locale file to 0407
all done
if anyone wants to know a step-by-step method, i would be happy to help

unfortunately all those reg strings etc. doesnt work anymore. they (htc or ms) must have introduced a new reg string since built 20xxx.
I do have the same issue.

no but I can use the T9 from the virtual (onscreen) keyboard, thus I thought a language cab wouldn't be necessary.
Do you think I'm missing languages?
Edit: I think I have wrong mapping in the et9.Nike.20Keys.409.kmap.txt. Can you post me yours if you have a working hw kayboard?

[Q] How to add localization & dictionary to AOSP (CyanogenMod)

I need some help here...
I successfully created high quality prediction dictionary for Croatian language for Gingerbread keyboard. Together with polished out keyboard layout and all translation strings it makes pretty nice Croatian localization. My idea was to add it to the AOSP so others can make use of it, but it turns out that it's not so simple.
Please give me few pointers on how to start. I installed Ubuntu 10.10 x64 in VirtualBox and got repo up and running for now. I'm not sure how (or where) to proceed?!
Should I try to add it to CM maybe? I'm confused.

QWERTZ key layout in MIUI Rom?

Hello,
I have installed the new MIUI V 7.2 Multilanguage from here.
My question is if it is possible to change the keyboard layout from QWERTY to QWERTZ (German layout)

I would assume /system/usr/keylayout/qwerty.kl would let you, I don't know how a German keyboard is but switch the letters around and it should change their function, it will probably still 'show' y on the keyboard but when you press it it'll print z; that's my take anyway. Use Word for easier formatting.
Thank you very much for your answer
how can I change values there? I've opened the file and I can also switch the letters but it is not possible to save the new values...
I've tried three different editors? Do you know an editor which can also save the values?
(German layout is only different in Z and Y - they are changed )

Easiest way would to just copy it to your computer and edit it there (you can use any text editor, I use Word just because it makes it easier to read but I used Notepad in the past), then ADB push it back and restart.
