I normally would post this in the bible its self but i need more eyes to see this!
It is getting tough to keep the bible updated regularly. I was wondering if i could get a few people to consistently report when a thread has been updated, or when a new thread that should be added pops up? I have been busy and will continue to be busy with other projects, Rom Reviews, and some other ones that i have yet to revile. If a team was assembled to help it would make the bible stronger and the Vibrant community stronger. If you feel you would be able to help, please volunteer i will be glad to accept your aid! Feel free to PM me or post on this thread, Thanks much.
P.S. if you don't want to be a consistent contributer, but still want to help. You can still report threads as some of you have in the past. The more the community gets involved with a project like this the better!
To the MOD, i am going to post this in the General section too, this post should be deleted once i find a sufficient team, please hold off on deleting it until then.
I volunteer. I come on XDA a few times a day and I notice when new ROMs are added. I would recommend a bit of restructuring, though. Perhaps into sections for Eclair, Froyo, and eventually Gingerbread (perhaps this has been implemented already, I haven't checked the bible in some time).
I would like to help. I am always checking the site.

I've visited the bible a few times but it was horrible organized so I didn't use it. But this sounds like a great idea. I liove organizing things and making them look pretty.. I would help here if I can. I follow Eugene's work where I can keep others posted.

I would love to help,I'm on here and Eugene's site an average of 5 times a day, sometimes more.I usually flash every rom that comes out within a day of it being posted.
I would be willing to help look at all the roms for the time being.
I say roms because otherthings i might miss. But roms i will definitely notice since i love flashing new roms.
Plus i would hope this would make me easier to bear. Because i have tons of innane questions regarding ROMming
Im glad you gentlemen approve of my idea! Hopefully it can get implemented soon, I would be perfectly willing to organize it for the OP if he sent me the thread with all the BBcode.
Once it is made PM me and Ill sticky it in both spots. Thanks for this! Saves me time
Kudos to you!
EDIT: Doh! Its already posted *facepalm*

Thank you very much everyone for all your support. This iteration of the listings is now dead as I'm moving onto Version 2 which will continue the evolution of the listings. I hope you all continue to help give ideas, suggestions, and what not to the new version much like you have with this one.
The new version is here:

See you all there.
Mods.... you can close this now.
Nice compilation. The only reason I am not complaining about a "repost" is because you provide much more detail than the current sticky
I think this is useful. It would also be nice to include MD5 sum of the files for those who wish to verify before flashing. This may require a lot of effort to maintain though.
*EDIT* and at this point all of the ROMs are based off of sense, but once the RIL issues are sorted out and AOSP ROMs start dropping then it would also be nice to have a line for each ROM stating if it is Sense-based or AOSP-based.

Certainly once AOSP ROMs rather if they are Froyo, Gingerbread, Ice Cream, Honeycomb, Chocolate Cake, Sherbet, Fudgecicle, Peanut Brittle, Oreo Blizzard, Sundae, or heaven forbid... Apple Pie... then I will update the listing to reflect that.
Great post OP! The only thing I have to add is Virus ROM 3-1 version (nonsense). I believe it's the same as 3 but with all sense elements removed.

Thank you very much everyone for your kind words. I certainly plan on keep this updated as well. I might not update it right away whenever a new ROM/kernel comes out but it will be done. As far as this thread getting a sticky I'll leave that up to the mods/admins here if they want to do that or not. I'd love for it to happen but in the end (sadly) its not my call.

Well I just wanted to day "Thank You" to all of the developers, themers, etc. It seems like lately people in this community are really sharing info without problem. Now, maybe that's always been the case but its being seen in the threads more. There have been some great ROMs, kernels, mods, themes, etc. coming out lately. It seemed like we hit a wall after Dk28 but now there seems to be something new and spectacular every day. Keep up the fantastic work and delivering on the greatness.
Now, on to those who post. Thanks to those who take the time to help answer questions, post a link, or even better a zip. I am sure it gets frusterating to the XDA All Stars when the Rookies don't know all the rules. Its easy to say go back and read but sometimes threads are 1000 pages and Search sends you all over the place. If you take the time to actually post the answer instead of posting to read the last 42 pages itss been said, it may actually help you. One day you may have a question ar be looking for a file or zip and instead of someone telling you to hit "Search", they may just post it for you right there. Not everyone knows every XDA forum rules...but everybody learns and I am sure XDA doesn't want people being chased off by someone snapping on/flaming them for not knowing a rule. It may be their 1st or 2nd time here.
In closing, I have noticed and overall better attitude/vibe among not only developers but those of us who just post as well. Things seemed to be dying for a little while and now there a great ROM, Theme, or Tweak on here every day or two. So, the future looks bright! Thanks to those who develop, theme, make mods, are testers and to the helpful question answerers. This is actually a pleasant forum to come to now. Of course the trolls are another story altogether.thanks for taking the time to read is, I just felt it was necessary. Too much hotness being released lately.

Pretty much once we actually go official, it will make it so you download the updates through the cyanogenmod official site and just get small new features, problems, and fixes whenever there are updates. Probably little things like sensors, call volume, torch, etc will be fixed eventually.

CM7 is great, and works fantastically on my phone. I just really wish a Dev would acknowledge the crazy issues this phone has when on CM7 AND in a lot signal area. I thought my phone was broke until somebody posted in the CM7 Alpha thread the other day.
I also wish somebody could shed light on any and all files in the filesystem that we might be able to tweak our own volume level if at all possible, without having to go through DSP manager or something like that.
Still...here's hoping they crank out some sweet stuff.
I'm not aiming to complain in any way, but why hasn't there been a nightly build yet from cyanogen? I assumed that after jt had merged in the code, we'd be running from there.
Trust me, i'm very patient and i'll happily wait as long as it takes. Just curious as to what cyanogen and jt need to do before they start the nightlies.

I don't think you're alone in your thinking. I heard some phones in the past have been adopted but never actually got nightlies. I think we are just a skeptical community due to Samsung's treatment. On the upside, things are happening on a somewhat regular basis in terms of merging.

Thanks for creating this thread I have been wondering exactly what nightlies are. I have heard it described as like "Windows Update". So are most nightlies just patches or new roms where you start from scratch each time?
Again thanks for the thread will be looking forward to learning and waiting for them to start.

From what I understand, "nightlies" are small bug fixes found in the code during the "day". After a full day of compilation, those fixes are affected during the "night". Usually no changlog because a new one will be released every night. Sometimes one step forward and sometimes two steps back, eventually yielding a highly refined rom. However, I'm sure someone else could give a better explanation. Keep checking for "fascinatemtd" at the link below.

The potential as I see it is that there is a thread that isn't 400 posts long that people, like myself, looking at when to dive into the CM world might get some good information.
Not all of us have time to dig through hundreds of posts to make a decision on the ROM/Kernel that we run on the phone that we need on a daily basis.
You don't have to read the thread, or post on it, if you don't think it has "potential".
Headcase, thanks for putting this thread out there.
I myself have been wondering how long the wait will be. I'm sure others have had phones receive official nightlies, so they might be able to provide some insight. Also, I check this forum everyday and when they finally hit, I'd bet others like me will find out here.
Not sure why those who find something unnecessary have to make their opinion known. What are you gaining by posting then? Your posts serve no purpose other than to annoy those who actually think this thread can be useful.
Have a nice day.

Im not sure if there already is one, but I think we need a sticky with all of the kernels and a description of each. I just checked the Dev thread and didnt see anything there, or in the themes or general thread. I thought I saw a Vibrant bible somewhere but I cant seem to find that at the moment either.

Lol. I was actually thinking of perhaps making this Kernel Sticky. Today would be good day to start too as I have a good amount of free time. Something else I've been thinking of is making a new version of the Vibrant Bible that could have a more detailed kernel section... Since the other two Bibles are both not maintained and even became unstickied. But I don't know. What do you think? Should I look into making a newer Vibrant Bible or a Kernel Sticky?

Yes this is a great idea, let me know if you need help. Especially with the bible there are probably 20+ ROMS that are not even on that bible, maybe you can list the issues wth each particular ROM in the bible as well, this would help direct NOOBS even better!
Sounds good. However, before I begin to put it together I feel it would only be the right thing to contact the original Vibrant Bible creator and ask permission to develop a new, more detailed Bible, with an updated list of kernels and roms.
I think thats a great idea as well, maybe you could just type something up and submit it him//her and see if they want to add it to the bible?
Why don't you guys look over the Wiki and update that instead. That way we are not at the mercy of the moderators to make things sticky. And we can update it as we go. I tried keeping it up a while back but it is a daunting task without the support of the developers to help keep their part updated.
I would like to try out a new rom cyanogemod 7.1.0 is good but i would like something new. If you could add a link to your suggestion, Thanks
