Hi guys, I just got my Desire HD and after sincronising it with my computer (Microsoft outlook) I find that it has not coppied all my groups (contacts are all in the phone) but the larger groups have not been sincronized. I have just under 500 contacts in my phone, and 19 groups. With the exception of one group (66 people) no other group over 40 people has been sincronised with my phone. I have groups of up to 200 people. With my previous phone HTC HD2 I had to modify the windos registry. Can you help me in getting the most of my phone? Much appreciated

I tried searching a lot and in last ended up purchasing a 40$ software from companion link which does the job perfectly. it also synchronizes all fields which are skipped by htc sync like radio, car etc.
Try MyPhoneExplorer - Google finds it first hit.

Hello,
I synchronized a new contact, and it appears on the HD2 with the correct category.
but ; if I take the view by category in contact manager, it does not appear ?
Am I the only one to get this problem ?
It uses any other categories:
Resco: Favorites , Sense: HTC Favorite

I have the same problem.
When i use a categorie (dealer, family or other) it does not acept.
Anyone more?
And did you noticed that when you display contacts per category, you have a maximum of 100 contacts !???
Solution
Hi,
i had the same problem.
Yesterday I've found the solution:
\\registry\HKCU\Software\HTC\People\MaxGroupPeople
This registry Entry has a standard value of 100.
If you change it to 110 i.e there will be 110 contacts per group possible.
I expierenced this behaviour as I used Active Sync with Outlook ... all contacts
were transfered but the groups cut at 100.
You may change the value with CE Commander Application for instance.
Best regards, Ralf
Hi Peepz,
Just updated to the new rom and im getting my phone all configured.
Is there a way to combine contacts? I have found from ms myphone, facebook and hotmail I sometimes get 2 or 3 copies of the same people, I just want to see if there is an app which can combine the contact details to one. That would be awesome!
Thanks
p4rma
So there arent any contact managers I can use for this?
Merry Christmas!
Hello everyone !
I have a HD2 and think of getting a Galaxy S - real soon !
I have the following issue and would like to know if there's some app available to help out! (besides the classic Outlook sync and then re-sync on the Galaxy)
Thanks a lot for your time , hopefully there's a similar thread where i can read things like this...if not , feel free to post here !
I've not used it myself yet, but I'm planning on trying Sprite Migrate:
http://www.spritesoftware.com/products/migrate/how-does-it-work-
i did mine via my gmail account, so it was a natural move, as i was already sync-ing with gmail on my windows mobile phone
I have used sprite migrate which is a free app. Worked like a charm. It even migrates your call history.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
If your contacts don't have pictures on the HD2 then you can simply go into standard WinMob Contacts > select all > Beam via Bluetooth to the Galaxy S. (At least its something like that, can't remember the exact menus when I did it on my Touch HD). This method also worked for getting contacts from my girlfriend's Nokia 5800 to HTC Desire.
If you have contact pictures though, that method becomes more of a pain. I had to sync to Outlook, remove all contact pictures, then export each contact as a VCF file which were copied to the SD card and imported into android that way.
Same here when I migrated from HTC Diamond to Galaxy i7500. I was already syncing contacts & calendar with google. As far as I remeber, I followed this guide:
http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=138636
Hope it helps.

mIQ. Worked flawlessly for me switching between devices.
vCard Expert will save all your contacts into a vcf file that can be picked up by an Android phone.
Yooo,everyone,thanks a lot !
I used the Sprite thingy and worked beautifully....i never thought of such a smart piece of software ! Nicely done !
They even offer a complete backup solution software for us rooters / flashers , so , even better !
Have a HD2 and recently got an Omnia 7 through Orange and had the following problems and was wondering if I flash to a WP7 on my HD2 will I still have the same? I returned the Omnia and still using the HD2.
I did some seasrches on the fourm but didnt see anything specific, apologies if I missed them ....
Contacts...
I couldnt find a way to trasnfer my contacts (about 300+) from HD2 to Omnia 7 - they are stored in Microsoft MyPhone (WP7 created a different account automatically), in Outlook (couldnt see a way of syncing WP7 with Outlook) and couldnt transfer via Bluetooth (didnt support Object Exchange).
Also, WP7 instisted on downloaded all 700 contacts from my Hotmail to phone - is there a way to keep these seperate?
You would have thought that MS MyPhone should enable the transfer of contact, calendar, texts etc. unless they are stored in a completely different format.
Bluetooth - does WP7, and in particular the hacked WP7 on HD2, allow for objects to be transferred via Bluetooth?
Tethering .... HTC have confirmed with me that the HD7 DOES support tethering but operators remove that functionality. The HD2 does have the capability so I am sure someone will be able to unlock this useful feature.
Sorry guys,
Have I missed something very obvious here?
Does wp7 sync with Outlook to recover contacts, calendar, tasks etc. that are there from hd2 on wm6.5?
How did everyone else copy there contacts over, surely not one at a time?
Hello all,
I've recently picked up a Desire S and it's going to be replacing my HD2. After doing some rather devilish tricks to the Desire S I need to transfer my contacts from one to the other... and I cannot find a way that doesn't involve me copying to contacts to my SIM card and then onto my Desire S.
Any suggestions? Preferably someone who has had to do this

load up Android from SD, then sync your contacts via google and and it again on your Desire S.
I'm not sure about the desireS, but the desire HD has an app called transfer data, or something. it connects the phones through bluetooth and enables you to transfer contacts, SMS, and probably calendar entries as well.
Be warned if you sync with outlook too that the Google sync is rubbish, misses out various fields, and you will almost ccertainly end up with duplicate contacts and calendar entries.
Myphonexplorer all the way for me, Google sync turned off.
