Loss of 3g after root - Droid X General

Within the past few hours I rooted my Droid X 2.2 using z4root and i am not able to use my internet browser on 3g. I can still use wifi, but no 3G. If you look at the notification bar it says im connected to 3G but i am only receiving (black arrow is facing down underneath the 3g) and not sending. Any help would be appreciated.

vzw's entire network is down. check endgadet for verification

3G connectivity issues on Tmo. (not the holding in hand issue)

I woke up this morning and 3g was no longer working. The 3G icon on my notification bar still shows traffic (up/down arrows light up) but I can't connect to any websites, twitter, gv sms, nothing. When I connect to wifi or set my phone to 2g networks only everything works fine. Any suggestions?

Call tmobile ask if there's an outage in your area for 3g? If not i'm sure they'll transfer you to google tech support who can help you out more.
Sounds like this is a tmobile network issue or a potential bug with the latest release (did you upgrade?). If it happened after recently upgrading to the new froyo and especially if you didn't before or after upgrading.. do a factory reset/hard wipe (backup first just to be double safe) see if it goes away.
Same happened to me. Not the build cause my wife's tp2 also had no 3g. Then after 2 hours on the phone with tmobile and no help and all day later they both work now ..
It was definitely tmobile

Yeah there was a bunch of people complaining about data and connecting via 3g on the forums here. Figured it had to be one of the two.

[Q] Omnia 7 data connection problem

Hi, since I got this phone and I've been having problem with the data connection, wifi is working fine, but 3G is not, it shows the 3G symbol but keep switching to H symbol and back again to 3G constantly, i never been able to surf the web or do anything online on 3g connection since i got it.
I tried putting in the setting from my provider and got the samsung network app thingy but nothing helped, even after updating to NoDo.
This is really bothering me i cant enjoy the phone when im outdoors, i switched back to my iPhone 3gs temporarily.
I really hope this can be solved.
I'm thinking if there is some way to make the phone only works on 3G and turn the H off.

H is for HSDPA and is far more faster than 3G. I reckon you run ADC on startup using samsung tools and hopefully the problems with connection will be resolved. Alternatively contact your sim provider for network configurations.
Here it also switches between H and 3G, or well it did on my other wp7 phone my (european) omnia uses 3g+. That's normal; the H mode probably eats your battery alive, and it only switches to it when your data connection is active (i.e. data is being transferred)
Your problem appears to be an Access Point problem, you can configure one yourself at the mobile connection settings page. (bottom). Check the web for the settings you'll need.
You see most phones are configured automatically by their providers, but the omnia probably isn't supported.
Hope this helps
the APN for China Unicon is "3gnet"
just add it your 3g connection will work.

[Q] Tilapia 3g problem

Hi all,
Been having some problems recently on my wife's Nexus 3g (tilapia). She had it for about six weeks now, I rooted it and installed PA on it (same as my grouper).
Everything was working fine until recently, 3g stopped working for no reason that I have been able to figure out.
What I've tried and noticed so far:
Clean install (full wipe) of PA, and also tried different custom roms - 3g not working
Tried the simcard from my phone to rule out network errors (since I'm on a different network) - still not working
In notification window, 3g coverage bar shows blue when wifi is on, asa it's turned off, a little H appears next to 3g bar, which straight away goes grey and stays that way until wifi is turned back on (this is all in range of wifi network, 3g icon does the same thing if i move far enough to lose wifi access). Strangely enough the carrier (Telstra) shows on my lockscreen, but any attempts to use the connection, like playstore, browser, go sms, all return a no connection error. Also when wifi is off and 3g icon is greyed out, the device sometimes crashes (hardlock) when trying to unlock the lockscreen (maybe unrelated).
Flashed back to stock following these instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32075129&postcount=1 - problem still remains
APN settings have been tried on both auto and manual, no luck.
At this stage I'm starting to think this may be a hardware issue with the 3g modem and thinking of just returning the unit altogether.
Has anyone had anything similar happen?
EDIT I've returned it on warranty

4G icon

Hello, This may be a simple question, but it's puzzling me at the moment.
I have a Galaxy S4 , rooted and running Hyperdrive 21. I haven't changed any setting in the past few weeks. For the past couple of days, the 4G icon will show up in the top bar, while on WiFi. It has never done that before. When I connect to WiFi the signal indicator was always there, but the 4G icon was not. I always relied on this to know if I was using my cell data or WiFi. Now I don;t know if the phone is using 4G or Wifi?

Mine will only show the 4G icon when I'm sending or receiving a MMS at home on WiFi. Could that be what's happening?
No, I'm not sending or receiving a mms

4G issue

Hi all
The past 2 days I seem to be having an issue with intermittent 4G coverage...
It will connect to 4G but have a small X next to it in the top menu. I receive no internet however.
What does the X mean as I can't find the answer anywhere, and is it an issue with my phone or my service provider?
I am on EE UK and running 7.1.1 Beta NPF10C
I have restarted, turned on and off airplane mode, reset my APN to no avail.
Anything else you need to need to know I will provide
Thanks in advance
I have had the same problems occasionally & I think it's an EE fault. It basically means you have a 4G connection but no internet access. Toggling mobile data off, waiting a minute or two, and re-enabling seems to get a new connection.
