Hello all,
First of all, my sincere appology if I post at the wrong place...
I downloaded the last version of skype but as I found the ringtone and the black and white notification icon really awfull, I have then decided to mod the apk.
I firstly tried to only replace the wav ringtone and the notification icons directly on the apk by using the 7zip, but unfortunately the apk does not install correctly.
I then decompiled and recompiled the apk and everything is fine; I can install the skype and see the new notification icons but for any reason I do not really know why, there is no more sounds :'(
When I receive a call, there is no ringtone and same goes for the incoming message.
Do you have any idea about this weird issue ?
Thank you in advance for your reply
Regards,

Hey so everyone has told me that I'm supposed to have a file called Handsfree.exe in my startup, but I don't have it and that I should extract it from my ROM, but I don't know how to do that... can someone give me a quick tutorial on how I can extract it or am I even on the right path... basically the buttons on my headset don't work for answering calls or ending calls.
THANKS!
see dumprom:

In the new ROM, there is no more Handsfree.exe in sight, instead I found handsfree_DLL.dll and it's not in startup folder anymore.
I have the handsfree_DLL.dll in my windows, but still the handsfree buttons are not working... has anyone else run into a problem where their handsfree buttons just stop working?

That's it...the problem is this program,i had the same problem and after some hard reset i found the solution...uninstall that program and enjoy your calendar link...
Byeeee
I've also installed the mod for enabling background on all tabs and since then the calendar link on the home tab stopped working..
EDIT:
This fix seems to be working for other people, haven't tried it myself though..

Yup that did the trick.. Though I had to copy the file manually, the cab give and error that I dont have permission to overwrite the files. I tried to edit it with Wince CaB Manager but dont see and option regarding perms. So must be a policy in the registry, anybody know off hand what it is and what to change it to to allow the cab to work.
Hello there,
i just installed the new resco contact manager, with it there came a*.ink which links directly to the new sms inbox...
My problem is if it´s possible to remap the softkeys on the home-tab to a *.ink file?
I´ve already tried it, but i get an error message so is there a trick to manage this?
thank you guys
Hi
I've been reading all that i've could find about no ringtones etc. when running android and it doesnt help copying in the media folder with the tones into the sd card or android root.
Ive tried 8 different android builds now and only one with working ringtones but then wifi, 3g and a lot of other stuff didnt work..
So - what can i try to do to get the tones to work?
Its a unbranded hd2 (danish) with Energy Cookie Rom (i'll try the latest energy rom now) and the radio is 2.50.12
Another thing ive thought about is, why can't i boot android when im using my "big" battery?
Hey man, i had the same issue, app store and download ringtones.
I also downloaded Notification sounds for email etc.

Tried that to, what did you download?
I had same issue.,I just downloaded android yesterday night.,.,went to Zedge (in marketplace) downloaded ringtones and sms/notification sounds to my phone.,.,after download you get the option to "set" it (while still in zedge)once you click on that you can send it to either be ringtone or notification sound. Hope this helps
All is very simply! Just copy folder named "media" from "Android" (with all included folders) to the SD card's root. Reboot. That is.
I tried bangsters 1.3 last night which has Zedge pre-installed - works .
Thanks for your inputs.
I did try copy in the media lib to root and reboot, didnt help anything.
Still can't figure out why i can't boot android when using 2600mAh..
As the title says, I'd like to use my custom ringtones, but since the VZW Edge + hasn't been rooted yet my question is, can it be done?
I'd like to insert them (ringtones) into the system ringtones library.
Thanks for your help!
Ok for those interested, I found the answer on my own. By using RingDroid, I re-created my ringtones & notifications and they show up in the stock tones so all is good!
