Well, now that so many have flashed their at&t tabs to the euro version, how can we be kept informed as to when a new firmware is available and do we flash the tab the same way using odin?
I am looking forward to gingerbread but am concerned that after flashing, my device may be left behind.
Thanks
You rely on the fine folks at XDA. You won't be left behind, you'll be ahead.

Following the recent success with updating my UK model P7500 to ICS using the German official software and Odin, my brother in Canada has asked me if the same sort of thing can be to his P6210 Canada version. It appears that Canada is another Samsung Tab drought area, and he says that his battery life is below expectations. - the saesman in Future Shop told him months ago when he bought it that the upgrade to ICS was only days away - pretty much the same story that I was told in the UK, but as usual Samsung have let us all down.
There is a UK version of the ICS upgrade for the 6210 that was released months ago I believe, so I was wondering if someone out there could tell me if the update is suitable for his unit... The build number of his is HTJ85B P6210XXLB2...
I found Odin a delight to use for the non-technical like me, and he is much the same - so an Odin based update procedure would be ideal.
So...... Which is the best update to use for his machine?
Thanks
This is not the correct section as this is for the original 7" tab the P1000 and variants. You need the Galaxy Tab Plus forum and they should be able to help. Also when posting questions please check if there is a Q&A section before posting in General as if there is they belong there.

Hello everyone,
Before I continue... I currently have a Galaxy SII Skyrocket that I've flashed several times using Odin and have rooted in order to reset the custom ROM counter to 0, followed by flashing back to official 4.2.2 via the firmware available on Sammobile. Not saying I'm a technical expert, but if there's instructions on how to do it, I can follow.
My ATT contract is up for upgrade eligibility in the middle of June, and will be ordering the Galaxy S4 when the time comes. I understand the I337 and I9505 are basically the same device, so I9505 firmware can be flashed onto the I337. I've also found the simple instructions on how to unlock your device from AT&T's network.
My question is, is there an available firmware that is stock Android 4.2.2 (no AT&T bloatware or stuff that didn't originally come from Android), basically what will come with the unlocked Galaxy S4 that will be available from Google via the Play Store, that is official (like ROMs found via Sammobile) that can be flashed to the I337 without tripping the custom ROM counter or requiring the device to be rooted? I don't even care if the phone is unlocked... I'll be using it through AT&T's network. I just don't want what Google didn't originally intended Android 4.2.2 to contain on my device.
And if not, which I assume is the answer, is it safe to assume the firmware that will come on the unlocked S4 from Google will be flashable onto the I337 with the abovementioned terms?
I apologize in advance if there is a thread that already answers this question.
Thanks,
Brett
Im looking for sane thing. A base 4.2.2 google goodness without TW, bloatware etc.

It's safe to assume we will be able to flash the Google edition rom but it hasn't been confirmed. Right now the main worry of anyone who doesn't currently own an S4 is a future update that patches Dans Loki exploit. I'm far, far from a dev but I do stalk the R&D thread Adam created about unlocking the bootloader permanently, and I don't see much activity. I don't really know how far they've come or how close they are, and I've got enough common sense to not bug them or ask for eta's.

When some devs get a hold of the google os, I am sure they will port it over for us. I see no reason why we will not be able to run that rom.
Hey everyone,
Please bare with me, this is my first time rooting & flashing a smartphone, so my knowledge on the topic is still limited even after some reads.
I also have the "misfortune" to not fall into the (apparent) easier route of having a non-Canadian Galaxy S4 where the model starts with "i950.." but mine being SGM-i337m. From what I've understood, the only reliable method I could use would be CF-Root, as described in this thread (OP's post), although the thing that bugs me, because I'd like to be able to install whatever ROM I'd like, is the line that says "[..] and those who want to keep as close to stock as possible. CF-Root is meant to be used in combination with stock Samsung firmwares [..]".
Also, which might be worth mentioning, my best bet is I'll probably end up flashing Cyanogenmod's ROM and they seem to have packaged installers, but I'm still worried it might not cover my model (if I take that route instead of rooting using CF-Root). From CGM's wiki under Supported Devices, there's a list that includes "jfltecan" (code name) for Canada, but I'm still hesitant. Do you guys think it covers Koodo (service provider) which I believe is owned by Telus (another SP) ? The last thing I want to do is brick my phone or have it unusable at the booting stage or whatever. And I don't mind reading, so any helpful links which covers this specifically would much be appreciated, although I don't mind an all cooked answer
Thanks
Hi everyone. I am attempting to download the stock firmware for my Edge but can't find it. My phone has SM-G935A printed on the back. It is AT&T. The search feature on SAMMOBILE does not have that model. Is it ok to use a different firmware? It won't be AT&T anymore if I do, right?
The back of my phone gets really hot at times, especially right while booting. I wanted to try to root and put one of the custom ROMS on there but I am not doing anything till I find the correct Stock Firmware.

Check out this forum, https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-s7-edge/how-to/updated-935u-935a-live-links-pi3-t3501686. I'm running my AT&T S7 Edge on this firmware, WWWWAAAAAAYYYYYY better than stock AT&T. It has NO AT&T bloatware and it has the Mobile Data On/Off toggle listed in the quick toggles bar. Before you flash this on your phone check what build you're on in the "about phone" in settings. Here is the link with the latest stock AT&T Firmware, https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-s7-edge/how-to/firmware-pi2-s7-edge-sm-g935a-10-03-16-t3477246. Download to your pc in case you want to flash back to stock. Don't root, not really stable if you do and you can't install any other firmware / ROM unless you flash 935U Firmware. You can brick your phone or even trip Knox counter and that will void your warranty if you needed to return to AT&T or Samsung.

Hi and thanks. I don't care about warranty. I am thankful you explained that "ROOT" makes it unstable. How is it possible to flash custom ROMS without ROOT? Why is it so hard to find the dang firmware? I went back on that dang Sammobil to look for the stock firmware for a friends Verizon S7 Edge and I can't find THAT but NOW THE AT&T is there!!!!
It sounds to me like you are coming from an older phone that had an unlocked bootloader? Back in the day when flashing a new rom like paranoid or slimrom was the fun and cool way to differentiate your device from your friends. That was also a time when android was about as locked down as ios is now, and ios was still locking users into their own keyboard, and Samsung was scrapping with apple at every turn for the top seat in the mobile phone market. My how things have changed.
Android is much more open in some ways, there are far fewer things that most people need that require root access, and the device manufacturers have also begun locking down the devices much more. At least in the Samsung line, I don't know when the last US variant flagship bootloader was freely unlocked? The s3? I know I had a Verizon s6 that I could not even achieve root on following a certain point in the release cycle. Now we have all of these fun new terms like systemless root, magisk and engineering bootloader. It really comes down with what is your desired outcome from rooting. You can actually get a long way towards what you could do back then with a Samsung theme and the right apps.
I believe what ytaida is referring to is the ability to flash other s7 roms onto your phone. So while we may not be able to flash custom roms, anything with the correct bootloader can still be flashed. Typically with a phone that is only going to be in the same model, but Samsung kind of threw a curveball and created an incestual path for the s7. With their U firmware, (the 930U and 935U firmware shipped on the devices sold directly from Samsung as was mentioned above) you could flash an official version of that onto the tmobile, Verizon, att and a few other carriers hardware, and essentially change the model of the phone. From there changing it back was equally as easy, except changing it back could be changing a Verizon model into an att model. The radios were all the same. In this process a root exploit was achieved and some very smart (I am humbled by their knowledge and determination on these sites every day) folks started hacking together roms. So you will see some neat stuff done where you are never truly running as root, but there were modifications done as root somewhere along the line. Long story only mildly shorter. Be careful how far down the rabbithole you take this.
The next thing you know it could be 6am and you realize you've been downloading and archiving your own copies of stock Samsung firmware for the last 20 hours, for devices you don't even have lol..
Sure there are still custom roms out there, but as a US customer, if that is what you're looking for you are best off with a nexus device or One Plus.

Is not hard, just need to look in correct forum. BTW what firmware you want. You can find any firmware you want for both models. Just look harder.
On Edge of Galaxy
A few things:
1) There doesn't appear to be any physical difference between the 935A, 935T, and 935U. You can, as long as you mind the bootloader version, freely switch between the three versions. I'm not sure about the Verizon and Spring versions.
2) The 935A FW link is around here. I've used it, and it worked fine, but you will be on tap for a few OTA updates.
3) The 935T FW link is actually available in several places, but there is a direct link over in the T-Mobile S7E forum. I'm not really sure what it gets you that the 935U doesn't, though. It has less bloat than AT&T, about the same amount of branding, and AT&T still refuses to let you have access to the more advanced call features. It does appear to be a lot less laggy than the 935A, though - AT&T really screwed up the Nougat upgrade compared to everyone else. It will likely get updates faster as well, and T-mobile doesn't have provisioning checks for tethering.
4) The 935U FW link is also "stock" for this phone, and works much better in many respects (it's certainly faster and less laggy) The difference between the 935A/935T and 935U firmware is that the former two have all the software needed for AT&T/T-mobile specific features, like WiFi calling, VoLTE, Visual Voicemail, etc. The latter has none of those things, but it does give you back BT tethering, disables the checks for WiFi and USB tethering, along with a few other features that were disabled.
Thus, you need to decide what is more important. Carrier specific calling features or more tethering options and overall better performance and battery life.
Please check the ORIGINAL post date!!!
I got the help I needed MONTHS ago. For those of you actually attempting to help,
"THANKS".
NORBARB, as a "SENIOR MEMBER" I would have expected much more than that and again, please look at the date I posted that question. Of course the firmware has shown up now. I don't even own that phone anymore.
How do you determine bootloader version?

I'm interested in switching my unlocked Tmobile G935T to ATT G935A to take advantage of Wi-fi Calling. I'm not sure how to make sure I select the AT&T firmware that has the same bootloader as mentioned above.
So back when I got my phone in Feb 2020, I did what most people do when they have a new device, update it. After some googling, I found plenty of threads about how great the google version of Android 9 is for the v35. Removing the ATT bloatware was my main reason for flashing to it.
I've read on a few different websites that if you flashed to the stock google android 9 rom, that there is no way to flash back to the ATT roms, or upgrade to the current android 10 att rom. My phone is unlocked and is of course, the ATT version.
Model: LM-V350AWM (doesn't show that it's google I guess)
Hardware: Rev 1.0
I have not bought an ATT sim card or gotten there service to upgrade because of what I read. Is it possible to flash back to stock ATT ROMs or to OTA with an ATT sim if I flashed to the google version? Anyway to go back (stock 8.0 even)? I really don't want to switch to a new phone since I got this baby for 190$ and finding something equally good or better in this price range is not happening. I'd appreciate any information you guys have on this.
Thanks!
It isn't clear from your note what you want to do. If your objective is to get to A10, I highly recommend following cloud's guide to localize the Korean A10 rom. That would require unlocking the bootloader. Everything on that rom works at least for me and my use cases. Browse around here in the v35 forums and you'll find the threads you need.
If your aim is simply stock A10 with ATT, there is one option. Someone posted a partition dump. You could try writing partitions one-by-one usind qfil. I haven't seem any reports of anyone doing that....
Okay. So is it confirmed that if you flashed the stock Google Fi Android 9 onto your att phone that you can't flash back to atts? Different partition sizes end up bricking the phone? I can't find any att kdz anyway. Not even the older android 8. I know att $oesnt release theirs but plenty of folks normally upload their stock kdz for the community.
Really confused with how dead the LG V30/35 community has been since day 1. I remember when I was learning how to root my viewsonic g tablet and galaxy 3 (2011-12) the forums were bursting with people and stock kdz loaded everywhere. And 30 different roms were being worked on for one device. I think the galaxy S5 community is still more active than this one. Smh
Thank you for the reply. I'll look for the post you mentioned. I haven't worked or played around with modifying android in 10 years. Only thing I've done is a quick flash of googlefi kdz back in 2020 which was brainless. Just looking at the tutorials to root this phone seems daunting now lol.

AT&T does not release kdz. Don't know why you think that needs to be confirmed. Partitions for AT&T A10 have been dumped. You can write them one by one by qfil.
As to why V30/V35 development is dead, a huge factor is that lg exited the mobile phone market. LG, despite making good hardware, was also not developer friendly. The V35 is 4 years old.
As for rooting a V35, just follow the instructions if that's what you want or move to newer models with 5G, more memory, and greater battery capacity.
I am still rocking my V35 Fi phone happily.

I thought people who were more tech savvy than me could pull a stock KDZ off their own ATT phone. That's what people did in the past anyway (I believe).
The phone is still great and I'm glad you are happy with it. I just wanted android 10 on my phone. Stock. English. I might try the Korean route since I'm less likely to brick my phone. Who knows, we'll find out. Thanks for the replys.
The localized A10 Korean rom has been fantastic for me. Everything works.
Make sure you backup ftm and efs partitions before starting. You will lose the S/N but it is easily restored. If you are in US, I suggest you flash the localized OP partition. Links are in the localization thread started by cloud.
