I saw a post on twitter that HTCSense.com was now also supporting the Incredible. However, when I tried to create an account, only Desire Z and Desire HD were the choices of supported devices.
Has anyone had a different experience or been able to use it on their Dinc? If so, how did you do it?
Thank you in advance.
same thing on mine. was the twitter post from htc or some random person?
I would guess the twitter was by someone running a Desire HD rom. I have been using IncDoes HD rom and am able to use htcsense.com although not all features are working yet.
If you are running a port like the HD Desire port you can make an account saying you have a desire phone and it worked for me this way.
Ya I also had created an account on one of the roms I was messing with last week, but loaded uncommon sense so now its gone. But it has some cool features like remote wipe/lock. GPS phone tracker and you can send sms from the HTC site.
thats because uncommon sense doesnt use the new HD sense port. u have to be using a ported rom of the new sense for HTCsense.com to work....
Hi all!
I saw this in ROM dev forum many times - and I don't understand because I'm a newbie in Android scene... what is the difference between FroYo Sense and a Desire HD Sense? Both are Android 2.2 (FroYo) with HTC Sense on top of it. Or not? What means HD in this case (related to Sense UI)?
Thank you!
The Desire Sense if the build of android found on HTC Desire, while the Desire HD is the build of android that is found the the HTC Desire HD device, released a couple of months or so ago, which has some new features such as Skins for the interface and other stuff (well, i used a non Desire HD build for very little time, so i don't exactly in what other aspects it is different)
mcbyte is right in hd sense you are able to install new skins in apk format and change it in a "theme manager" (don't know if it's called exactly like that).
other benefits are htc likes - a widget which shows up market apps etc. in an easy way. you can sort them better than in market. further there is htc hub, where you can download new backgrounds, themes, ringtone sets etc.
these are just two of the advantages of hd builds. if i remember some more i will post'em here
wrong post
thank you guys! I thought that the difference is bigger, because in Darkstone's new RAM build's thread some people wrote that a Sense HD build is not possible because it can't fit into the RAM - BUT a Sense build is possible. This is why I was curious the precise difference!
mods can close this (if they want)
sorry for my previous post. i thought you were asking about the difference between sense and non-sense builds.
Does anyone know if the HD2 hardware supports Rotating Gestures for Google Maps Mobile 5?
The Desire doesn't support this, according to http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=1079043

Some do, some don't.
From what I've read on here, Desire HD builds do it, but that's all. (There may be others - that's all I've seen confirmed.)
I confirm for Desire HD build as well as the MDJ Gingerbread build. Didn't try so far on others.
I wonder if anyone is working on a working Desire HD eReader application for HD2Desire Hd rom ports for HD2. It is just about the only goodie from the Desire HD rom that does not work with HD2. Yet it is an application I love to death going by what the eReader has to offer in the Winmo side of the HD2. Sometimes I am forced to boot into winmo side just to use this app.
I know I can use other ereader apps available in the Market including FB Reader but I know for sure I desire to have a working eReader app with my Desire Hd rom - I am currently using MDJ Revolution themed HD 1.2 rom....
So now I would wish to start this BOUNTY thread hoping that the bounty might entice more modders/devs to please get us the HTC eReader working.
20 US Dollars from me for whoever cracks this and gives us a working HTC eReader app for Android HD2.......
I want to give another 100 Euros for a new desire hd and I'am in doubt is somebody who has both devices and say that is a huge difference betwen thouse two?
I don't have both devices, so I don't know how different a real Desire HD will be from a HD2 running a Desire HD build.
However, €100 for a Desire HD sounds like a bargain. I'd certainly go for it.

I think he was talking about giving his HD2 plus 100 euros for a Desire HD which is a bit different than buying a Desire HD for 100euros
/ontopic - I would!

Heh, that would make a bit more sense.
Hmm... I'm not sure I would, if that's the case. Even though I hardly ever use Windows Mobile nowadays, I like the fact you can run multiple OS's on the HD2. The Desire HD is a wonderful phone, I'm sure, but for me it's not enough of an upgrade to consider moving from my HD2.
Hd2 vs desire hd
well...
HD2 vs DESIRE HD
hd2-can choose many builds..one day you can even run WP7..can use ram builds!
also desire hd builds is faster than desire hd phone!games also are playable as well as desire hd,browsing via internet has similar speed!tried it ...
Desire HD...only good for 720 p recording and downloading faster via market app..but now with ram version hd2 downloads faster!
my girlfriend has desire HD... overall HD2 is a bit faster!!
so i wouldnt trade it even for free
i like playing with my hd2

I can think of much better ways to spend €100.
The only people I know who say a Desire HD is better than a HD2 running a Desire HD ROM are biased Desire HD owners. I know plently that have said it's the same (if not a little worse). Yeah, they like the fact that it's a truly native Android device, but it doesn't work any better or do anything better, and it doesn't have the capabilities offered by the HD2.

But in the same way, hd2 owners are going to be biased towards saying the hd2 is better. I'm sure once you root and tweak a desire HD like the hd2 is, the desire HD will run better than a hd2. An original desire runs better than a hd2 once it's rooted and tweaked right. Personally, I still wouldn't trade my hd2 for any of them, though, because I still like being able to boot into winmo and easily switch builds, and android runs good enough for me on the hd2. You won't find a better multi-os booting phone. But if you are only going to use android, a native phone can be made to run android better than a hd2.

I have both of them, hd2 is the same as desire hd when i use Mdj froyo sense MDJ FroYo Sense Clean v. 2.4 and even faster when i use ram vertions of android.
Although i tried and the desire hd vertion in my hd2 and i must to admit that is significatly slower than Desire Hd in this occation. But if i had to chose i would chose the hd2 because it is customisable

Is your desire HD rooted and modified like the hd2 builds are? Or is it still stock? It's not really a fair comparison unless its rooted and modded.

No because hd2 have hw buttons.
