Sorry to make another thread about this...but I looked and I couldn't find anything specific. I find general ones, but I get lost in the steps because some of them simply say " Do this" and I don't even know how to get to that.
My Fascinate is rooted, has a lagfix from another forum (don't remember which one) and nothing else.
I would like to flash that super clean rom by JT and also install that gingerbread theme that in the "Themes and Apps" section of the Fascinate Forum.
Is there anyone who could point/link/help me?
I see everyone say this flashed this or that and I have no clue how to do it.
First for reference purposes ll question threads should be located in the general section.
To flash things you need THIS working on your phone. And continue to keep reading and it will all make sence.

That would be sweet.
The dev section is more or less a rom section.
I don't think a separate section is needed, but what would help is a common format to identify threads which contain ROM's. For example, starting a ROM thread with "[ROM]". Iced Glacier is an example of a ROM thread that doesn't follow that format and therefore doesn't stand out as much as it could.
Maybe a sub section within the dev area....

Nice suggestion but no need to clutter the forums section as its already classified under Dev. Now I understand it maybe little hard for new users to get use to on what is what from thread title. But one must do research on howto and find it for themselves as if you brick it you are responsible for your own actions.
Best thing I can tell new user is they ask the folks in General or Q&A section to help them list stable roms and report their user feedback on pro/con about the rom this way you can get many input and ultimately flash it yourself and decide.

Realistically, seasoned users have no issues finding roms in the dev section, and new users shouldn't even be aloud to read thre dev section until they've been here for a while and have the chance to learn a little bit so they have a clue before they start trying to flash their phones.
The reason you may not have had success installing cyanogen or getting miui to work, or figuring out CF root and the proper stock rom, COULD be because you're in the wrong forum. In all the time I spent in this forum no one bothered to point out that if you have a SPRINT phone even though it's an i9100 you need to go to this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1281
I wish to point this out for anyone else who didn't realize this to ensure no more time is wasted in the wrong forum. I now have a working miui and am thoroughly happy.

The one called Stock Official Firmwares even the Guides and Roms official firmware makes it only a choice of two .
Message to mods should go via report thread if you want them to read it .

i didn't even bother to request the mod to not close that one because that happened to blfb thread when it was new then they reopened it since the official firmware thread is getting cluttered thus i thought they would do the same for this one.
since that didn't happen, i'd like to request to re-open that thread and rename it to XXBLG6 new features so as to save the other main thread from clutters and this one will be specific only to new xxblg6 ; it will be easier to search what's new.

Single thread, choice of two - it's all too confusing for simple me and my simple buddies ....
All I'm saying is what I said - it would have been *more* helpful to have put a link to the thread chrisd1a1 (which ever of the two you're on about, I dunno, I'm even more confused) in the "closing" post. Simples, no?
Re. second part, I'd rather open the issue up for discussion than keep it backroom, ta very muchly.

There is two stock firmware thread, stickied in this subsection, just open them and read, one is more of a guide as well, the other just a list of download links, but you would know this if you had clicked on them.
Also there is a sticky that should help guide you to which forum subsection you need to be in to find stuff.
Also.. as mods we have multiple forums to look after, do you really want us, as well as moving misplaced threads around, keeping the peace, and everything else we do, to do your research for you? I think not.

Hello all, I come from the sgh-t959 forums. I just purchased an S4 (rogers variant) about an hour ago, and now I'm eager to learn what fun stuff I can do with this. So I have a few questions to ask you to feel more comfortable with this phone .
Are different roms worth putting on? I only cm on my old phone because stock was 2.3.6, this bad boy runs 4.3.
I found the root procedure for my phone, will it the procedure work on the new firmware? (Link below to the procedure I'm referring to)

You need to read the "pinned" threads in the 'general" and "Q&A" sections before you do anything. Almost all questions about the S4 have already been asked and most of the answers can be found in those threads or through the threads linked in them. The search function will also be useful. Make sure you follow the XDA rules and search before asking. Above all, remember, this is a development site. It is up to you to search read and learn about your device before you do anything to it. First off, questions go in Q&A, and will be marked with a [Q] before the title.
Secondly, you didn't provide what version of Android you were running.
