Now i have my Droid Pro (after HD2 and Desire) and this droid is very nice.
But: i have install my exchange account and after the full sync i have no contact photos.
Has anyone an fix for this ?
Related
Currently using VillainROM 6.1.0 (Same problem is on BeHero+, I quit using that rom duo to this problem)
And if this cant be fixed, i have to change rom again.
Facebook sync my contacts like it should, but i only get blurry images for my contacts, very low quality.
I want the standard high-quality images like before..
Anyone else having this problem?
I've tried:
- Delete and re-add my "facebook for HTC Sense" account
- Cleaned cache of "Facebook for HTC Sense" and "com.htc.socialnetworking...something"
After that it syncs again, but still with low quality
I don't think it is the ROM. The photos on my HTC People widget/People application fixe themselves after a few minutes (but I have a limited number of contacts - not the hundreds that some people have). It looks like locally, it needs to process the image to shrink it down and sharpen it for display in the environment.
Hello everyone !
I have a HD2 and think of getting a Galaxy S - real soon !
I have the following issue and would like to know if there's some app available to help out! (besides the classic Outlook sync and then re-sync on the Galaxy)
Thanks a lot for your time , hopefully there's a similar thread where i can read things like this...if not , feel free to post here !
I've not used it myself yet, but I'm planning on trying Sprite Migrate:
http://www.spritesoftware.com/products/migrate/how-does-it-work-
i did mine via my gmail account, so it was a natural move, as i was already sync-ing with gmail on my windows mobile phone
I have used sprite migrate which is a free app. Worked like a charm. It even migrates your call history.

If your contacts don't have pictures on the HD2 then you can simply go into standard WinMob Contacts > select all > Beam via Bluetooth to the Galaxy S. (At least its something like that, can't remember the exact menus when I did it on my Touch HD). This method also worked for getting contacts from my girlfriend's Nokia 5800 to HTC Desire.
If you have contact pictures though, that method becomes more of a pain. I had to sync to Outlook, remove all contact pictures, then export each contact as a VCF file which were copied to the SD card and imported into android that way.
Same here when I migrated from HTC Diamond to Galaxy i7500. I was already syncing contacts & calendar with google. As far as I remeber, I followed this guide:
http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=138636
Hope it helps.

mIQ. Worked flawlessly for me switching between devices.
vCard Expert will save all your contacts into a vcf file that can be picked up by an Android phone.
Yooo,everyone,thanks a lot !
I used the Sprite thingy and worked beautifully....i never thought of such a smart piece of software ! Nicely done !
They even offer a complete backup solution software for us rooters / flashers , so , even better !
So, I just bought the Epic.. Coming from HTC Pro 2... Syncing with my contacts from my Exchange 2007 server and Outlook 2007.
So, I have loaded up most of my contacts with photos using Outlook.. The issue is, they degrade the image to 72x72.. Looks horrible.. At one time or another, I used Photo Contacts Pro for Windows Mobile, and it made the image quality 300x300 which was much better,
So, now on the Epic, I want to start replacing some of the contact pictures I have.. What is the best way of going around that? If I use Oulook (which is the fastest method), it will degrade the picture to a blury/jaggy mess... If I use the contact settings on the Epic, I see I can load them from my Picassa... But what resolution/dpi will that be at?
Is there a better method?
Bonus question: Is there a way to backup all the links I make with my contacts (ie: linking each to Facebook), so when I put a new custom ROM on, I woun't lose all that work?
Thanks in advance for any help!
I would say the problem is def the limitations of outlook. I have noticed this happen to me before when syncing my contacts from outlook to any device I used iphone the biggest problem. Now using android I have google manage all my contacts because its effortless. Just type in your email and they are there. I will note though that you can set the images of your contacts from gmail contact page but they still do not seem to be quite as high quality as when I set them via the phone. But once they are set threw the phone the quality will remain high on the next device I sync them to.
i had a TP2 and all my contacts numbers are backed up in microsoft outlook. What is the best way to get them from there to my new phone ?
I did this:

Worked pretty well.

My contacts are stored in Windows Contact Book(My Documents>Users>MYUSERNAME>Contacts) HTC Sync provided with DHD wouldn't copy them to my phone, so I just installed HTC Sync 2.xx from Legend/Hero and it worked.
It's a good point actually.
If you have your contacts in outlook, then when you install HTC Sync from the phone it will copy all your contact details to the phone automatically.
I learnt that the hard way by syncing with my work computer and having nearly 5000 contacts copied to my phone. I had to yank the power quickly and hard reset before it tried to sync it all to gmail!
Yep here to

OK, I'm a newb to Android so I'm not sure I understand what you're discussing here.
Should I install HTC Sync 3.0 from the HTC website or is there a better way to get it working? The Desire HD isn't (yet?) shown in the list of compatible handsets on the HTC website for that version.
On the included SD-cart there is the program HTC Sync 3.0. You can copy the file to your computer and install it there. Works fine and you can synchronise all the contacts in outlook.

Thank you.
I've imported my contacts already via Google so that bit is OK. Has anybody had success importing the calendar entries onto the Desire HD?
Edit: OK, I had a go and yes: it's synchronised the calendar entries. But only back a month. Is there a way to extend the range so that the whole calendar is synchronised?
Edit 2: I tried something else. I don't think HTC Sync will do what I want. I'm moving from Windows Mobile/Outlook to Google/Android so I figured I really only need a one-time synchronisation. I found that Google has their own sync tool:
http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?answer=98563
It's not compatible with the version of Outlook I'm using (2002) so I found other software called CompanionLink:
http://www.companionlink.com/android/outlook/
They offer a free 14-day trial of their sync software with which I'm uploading my entire Outlook calendar to Google and it's syncing with my phone in front of me. That's all I needed - I don't think I want to sync my Outlook calendar in the future since I won't be using Windows Mobile again. Time will tell if I'm right.
Hi Guys
Last weekend Ibought the HD 7 and the Desire HD
So far I did not like the wm7 so much and I prefer the Desire HD
I managed to migrate my contacts from HD2 into the Desire HD by Sprite Migrate App, but I could not migrate my Calendar Entries ..... I dont use Outlook , so can anybody recommend what I should do ? My google is also empty, so firstky I want to create everything on the phone and then sych with my new google account.
Posted this at least 3 times before - but here is how I migrated from WM6.5 to Android...

I've almost the same problem, but mine is worse! I bricked my windows mobile phone and now all my contacts and other stuff are stored online @ Microsoft MyPhone website...
Is there any way to get them from the website and sent them to my DHD?
Can't you use the Transfer data app on the DHD?
